doubt we'll see hangers added to existing ships to be honest , but hopefully when the long awaited saucer sep comes for the dreadnought , it'll buff it up somewhat too , good lord it needs it

i was thinking the vesta would be a niche ship that only the longtime fans would use , but cryptic have turned it into an absolute beast lol

    question bran flakes,

each of these vestas come with a aux DHC correct? can you slot more then 1 at a time, and thus not need weapons power at all?

I was wondering this too, also are they restricted to the vesta only, or could they be move to say a Defiant so you can have some of your firepower training your aux instead of weapon power, keeping your overall powerlevels higher (since both recharge seperately)

This singlehandly makes most sci/crusier ships useless.

Even most f the other c-store ships. THis is where the makers need to get off whatever there smoking and actully play the agame in full context or need to be replaced.

Prepare for the groups of this ship and only see this ship.

but can we please have some better pictures top / side / front views of the 3 different ships?

i have difficulties distinguishing the details on these small odd angled pics.

//edit: after reviewing the stats and seeing that all 3 are the same SCI heavy layout.... REDACTED... will not buy

Vesta Line wolfpacks will be untouchable! LOL. Not even captain Liam Neeson can stop them!

Hmm, will have to think whether getting the bundle or not (If it were one ship for 2500 Zen, I'd get it at launch day - as I promised somewhere on the forums).

That said, I'll get it in some shape sooner or later.

Now on to the currently advertised specs:

Why would you add a hangar? I see no reason for it. Looks like you add a hangar to each and any new ship nowadays. Not too happy about that.

Maybe the 13 turn rate is a little too high, DHCs work fine on 10 point Vor'chas (and derivatives). You could lower it to say 11 or 10 and increase the hull somewhat. It won't seem so overpowered and would fall in line with the expectations coming from its size.

(NOTE: We don't yet know about the inertia value, would be funny if they killed the 13 turn rate with an Odyssey-like inertia.)

Overall, I'd say tune it down a notch, it'll still remain a go-to ship for any type of play. Get rid of the hangar, maybe get rid of the subsystem targeting as well (will probably not be used that much, anyway) and for the turn rate, see higher.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

The HULL is still way too low.

This is a HUGE ship - the Wells is also Science ship and it has a 30K HULL!! And it is much smaller.

Please make an adjustment. I hear lots of people on the fence over the low hull for such a big ship.

Sigh. Not only does it invalidate several CStore ships, but it invalidates most fleet ships as well.

Not a smart move, Cryptic. Please make the other ships I own as fun as the Vesta.

Mein gott that's powerful, but at the same time within reason! Our rumor-mongering has been waaaay off. LOL

And for all you hoping for a good science vessel, you can shut up now. LOL

Can we mount more than 1 copy of ADHCs on a Vesta series? Or will we have to resort to Quad phaser cannons, Dual Aux Phaser Cannons, normal Dual Heavy Phaser Cannons and run really weird power levels?

to all those panicking about this being overpowered , bear in mind its going to be tested on tribble by a hand picked team of testers from the community , the ones that always report feedback , bugs etc on the testing forums , so its going to get a thorough testing , and may well yet be toned down respectively

I don't think its going to get toned down. Every ship that was recommended to be nerfed from Tribble Testing didn't get nerfed.

I'm getting the $50 set, but I do wish it wasn't so OP! EVERYBODY will have one (at least for a while) just for that reason. I just wanted a decent SCI ship so I'd stop being asked to leave STF's as soon as they see my science ship come in:(

A nice ship. But both set bonuses are absolutely useless. Since we don't have one single space map I don't need to be any faster. I can't plot in a course and then have a coffee because my ship will always stop at the sector border.

And the shield bubble will be as useless as the ablative shield generator on the long range science vessel retrofit. I tried it once or twice and then put it on the bank. Since you cannot fire while the bubble is activated enemies will just wait till the bubble goes down and kill you then. As I said. It's completely useless.

Setting up LtC Engy + Lt Engy is almost as good as Cmdr Engy + LtC; there's not a whole lot of really useful Engy Skills. You could just use whatever Engy Heals you were going to have with the Cmdr Sci.

But even if don't do that, you gain actual offensive options with the Cmdr Sci. Zombie Cruisers would be fun if this game actually required and used tanking; without tanking mechanics, zombie cruisers are worthless.

And of course, there's the Siren's call of Ltc Tac. Just put the Ens in Engy for 2x EPtX of your choice and go half and half for Heals and Offense on the Cmdr Sci.

The Wells doesn't have 40 Extra Features (ok, its really 6) that aren't bulkheads. Its big on the outside, but most of that space is being taken up by lots of sensitive equipment and not deck plating.

When I ran the Intrepid refit I NEVER used the ablative armor! It was almost useless! I agree the set bonuses are no big deal. I think it would of been kind of neat being that it's all experimental equipment, that there would bee a small percent chance of it failing. Kind of like the excelsior's transwarp. LOL, you go to fire the deflector phaser and it fails and your left with no weapons or shield for a few seconds.

That would actually be a nice idea. Something like a 10% chance to overpower your ships relays when firing the deflector phaser. :D

    Weapons: 3 Fore, 3 Aft

    hmpf

i know all Sci ships only have 6 weapon slots... and that is one of the reasons i DO NOT LIKE sci ships...

the SCI commander slot is another thing i don't like and it looks to me like all 3 versions come with the same BOff layout?

with only 6 weapons and probably a low amount of TAC console slots, where is the DPS supposed to be coming from?

i can make that a super tank that will never die, but won't kill anything on it's own.

and i'm not a fan of those weird crowd control effects in space at all

i already skipped on the Wells class because it was a Sci Heavy ship.... and i'm starting to see that this one is Sci heavy too. :(

i expected a Tac/Sci/Eng choice like with the Odyssey but here are only 3 SCI variants.
and with 3 universal consoles ...the console slots won't matter much.
and the energy level bonus doesn't matter either because i always make my own energy level presets anyway.
so if i want 10 more Aux i just move that slider up 2 points and done.
the only difference is when energy is disabled this one system is less likely to get disabled because the +10 Aux is a base stat.

So in the end, all 3 ship variants are pretty much the same, spare the pay 2 win consoles and the hopefully nice looking Variants of the ship (that i can't really see that well in the pictures.)

If you ask me, the 3 variants at least need different BOff seatings.
And i wouldn't mind if there was one with 4/4 Weapon Slots or at least 4/3

It has 10 Consoles so probably 2500-3000 ZEN, but after 2 years, they probably didn't bother adding a unique bridge. (Sound familiar <Regent>)

Maybe I should have read more before opening my mouth. Didn't realize it was going to be a 3 ship deal.
