Lead Designer Al "CaptainGeko" Rivera reveals details about the upcoming Vesta line of Multi-Mission Science Vessels in this entry of the Season 7 News Dev Blog series.

    Let's see what this brings eh? There's some sexy looking graphics there, particularly like the danube launchpad.


    It's a best of a ship, that's for sure, but it's probably not as OP as it could/should have been.

    the tactical one ( with the base vesta skin ) oh yes indeed
    was hoping for a lt cmdr tac slot , universal just makes it that much better
    the engineering one is interesting too , a tanky science ship ?

    I was kind of hoping the ship would get a setup similar to Kar'Fi (4 fore and 3 aft weapon slots) but I'll be getting these anyway. All other science ships look inferior in comparison, to be honest.

    unfortunately this makes me a hipster now :rolleyes:
    13 degree turn rate is harsh though , turns as well as a luna class xD

    This is almost too much to take in at once, in the good way :D

    This may even take the place of the Atrox I was saving up for, for my Fed Sci toon ;)
    Was named Trek17.

    Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

    Vesta Line. Might we expect future trio's of Multimission Explorers in our future? ;)

    Are their any stats suggested yet for the Quantum Field Focus Phaser?     I wondered how distinct it is from the Phaser Lance of the Galaxy-X.

    I noted that the primary hull is slightly different on the Radamaker. Is there a difference in costume between Aventine and Vesta as well? I couldn't really tell from the pictures.

    yeah , all three seem to be different varients , which is nice considering the odyssey was the same stock ship for all three versions

    Once again I add up everything the federation side has got in the last 12 months and then count on one finger what the KDF has got.

    The defense is it doesn't make any money for the KDF to make anything for that faction and that you got something... you get lockbox ships... same old same old.

    Haven't bought a c-store ship because none of them interested me at all, until now. Getting me the Vesta bundle. /drool :D

    Seeing that it's 5000 Zen I see no mention of a custom bridge for it. All the other bundled ships have a bridge, I wold be pretty annoyed if it doesn't come with one. Branflakes can you shed any light on this please?

    . Not much was said about this piece of technology except it ?impressed? Geordi La Forge in more way then one.

    if by impressed you mean Mikaela Leishman's chest pushed into his face , then yeah , i guess he was pretty impresed

    It's a shame that some of the universal consoles couldn't be used between the odessey and the vesta. Looks like cryptic learned their lesson on sub-par set bonuses and lack of customization.

    I may have to give up my odessey for a bit when this comes out.

    They really need to up the hull to 33k at least - 27.8 is just insanely low for a ship this size. i mean the escorts have as much as 25% more hull!!

    What gives guys??

    Okay, so an art question, the shot of the Danube Runabout on the back deck, was that posed, or is there some sort of animation that plays when you launch them?

    How come the Vesta gets 10 Console slots and the Regent only got 9?

    because its a three ship pack like the odyssey
    3 special consoles would take up a full third of available slots , which is the main reason they game the oddy and bortas'qu that extra slot

    I think they gave it a lower hull because of all the console abilities that reflect/absorb damage :P

    To give another avenue to buy the latest vanilla ship :) Some go by looks, some go by stats, and some people go by both so they corner both demographics of players. Well there is a third but the KDF has been forgotten.

    It's launched from there (it appears there before it flies up above the ship). The original designer envisioned the Vesta to have an elevator that lifted a runabout(s) to the outer hull's surface.

    Also will this make its way to tribble to be tested or are you going to skip that as you always do?
