So all hanger pets do this?

Also will this make its way to tribble to be tested or are you going to skip that as you always do?
No, most hanger pets appear out of thin air, with a general launching animation... but clearly the Vesta has a new animation ;)

As a captain who's only ever used Cruisers, is it wrong that I'm tempted to get this ship?

Once again I add up everything the federation side has got in the last 12 months and then count on one finger what the KDF has got.

The defense is it doesn't make any money for the KDF to make anything for that faction and that you got something... you get lockbox ships... same old same old.

But nice model. I think the tactical will the one for my engie :-)

I am sorry if this question was already asked (I skipped a few pages):

Does it have it's own bridge like the Oddysee does?

They really need to up the hull to 33k at least - 27.8 is just insanely low for a ship this size. i mean the escorts have as much as 25% more hull!!

    What gives guys??
Presumably because people don't really pay attention to hull and shield modifiers. So you can cram in lots of extra goodies if you ramp down the hull and shields to compensate for that fact without making it incredibly OP.

The ship will be squishy, probably by design.

I think we need to see some more stats on this Aux-powered cannon. Common/uncommon/rare/very rare? Restricted to the Vesta?

It's pretty sad that the consoles and set bonus are so much better than the Odessey's. I mean really, a phaser lance, and perfect shield? Why not give it a cloaking device too? The more I look at the build options the more I have to ask, why fly anything else? It's too good.

It's consoles/bonuses are everything the odessey should have been.

Yeah it's a great ship and the work on it shows. I just wish that some of the other ships already in game got some love.

i knew it would be the most overpowered release yet, and i figured it would be even more overpowered then i would suspect, at least that part i got right.

so something sov sized turns for 13, i don't think so. oh but this can mount DHCs? well then it will have 0 problem using them effectivly then, especially when it has runabouts chain tractoring people. not to mention it has subsystem targeting and sensor analysis, as well as at least a commander sci station. with the ody/vet ship style station setup, the shear power that will give a sci ship alone is incredibly huge.

not even counting the console gimmicks, this ship can do anything and everything, its so overpowered it practically replaces the need for team work.

i can say 1 nice thing about it. the 3 ship scam isnt quite as much of a scam this time, at least each ship has a unique costume.

Very nice work! I have a question, though: will the Vesta, Aventine, and Rademaker also appear in the form of NPCs? If so, will they be Science Vessels, Battleships, or Dreadnoughts?

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

well it should be able to be used on other ships
its just consoles that are restricted , since the other unique ship weapons can be used on anything thats able to carry them

Brandon, did it just forget to get typed, or am I reading this right, the Science ship is NOT an account wide unlock if purchased alone?

And is it just me, or is the Runabout on the back too big and over scale, like most out of scale Cryptic art.

Edit: Ok, got confused reading the ship groupings, I see it now, Science Vesta class is account unlocked if purchased separately.

I originally only tested it with the Runabouts, but I just jumped in and tried it with Peregrines and Delta Flyers -- they also launched from the same location.

I announced how they are going to be tested here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=423651

yeah , it looks way too big lol
Unlocking the Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Explorer: Aventine Class unlocks this ship for every Federation Vice Admiral character on an account.

an example from the blog :p

Well, considering how the Space part of 'Into The Hive' was kept from one dev, it's better to wait for the announcement than speculate ;)

Hope it will have one, but I'll live without one

Looks nice. I would like to to have one for my Federation character.

The key term is "would like" to have. I'm not spending another dime on a C-store ship until the KDF gets a new ship release. I don't care if its not profitable to make stuff for the KDF, its a faction that's in the game.

Maybe if it was finished more people would play them, making them more profitable.

Hmm...so do I take my near 2500 zen I wanted to use to get my final Oddy, or do I grind dil for another month and a half to get the full vesta set? Hmm...So much for the Oddy bein the flagship.

because its a three ship pack like the odyssey
3 special consoles would take up a full third of available slots , which is the main reason they game the oddy and bortas'qu that extra slot
To give another avenue to buy the latest vanilla ship :) Some go by looks, some go by stats, and some people go by both so they corner both demographics of players. Well there is a third but the KDF has been forgotten.

All 25$ ship should be have equal value.

The Tactical Vesta gets a 4th Tactical Console slot and a Phaser Lance! Why doesn't the Regent and the Galaxy-X have 4 Tactical consoles? The Vesta is more of a warship than actual warships for cry'n out loud! And what about these abilities?

Cryptic has officially made the Galaxy-X 100% worthless now. And the Regent basically got hosed as well since it cannot equip dual cannons.

The Odyssey is the current flagship series, while the Vesta and it's tech are more expermental... the latter tend to be much stronger after all, as they are the cutting-edge tech (are planned-to-be) :)

Indeed. Next person I see ***** about the Fleet Vor'cha being overpowered I'm tracking them down and beating them within an inch of their life with a sack full of phonebooks.

Oh well, at least when people ask me what the best ship to buy from the C-Store is, I can confidently say getting the Vesta 3-Pack is never the wrong answer. You do know that, assuming you're not blowing smoke out your TRIBBLE, this thing is gonna be a giant elephant in the room when it comes time to do a balance pass on PvP, right?[/dissatisfied with Vesta's Balance]

It got the forward-swept nacelles, though. Kudos on that. [satisfied with the Vesta's aesthetics]

@ Brandon, any dev, or anyother yellow name listening, any chance of the Quad Cannons getting another look or buff? Compared to the Aux DHC's they're mile behind in performance (-10 Wep and Eng power when fired, DMG x 4 mod so their accuracy sucks).

Odyseey - ugly secondary hull (deflector)
Star Cruiser - ugly saucer section / ugly secondary hull
    Vesta - ugly secondary hull

    the list grows.

I think it is a big mistake(hopefully) that they made such a big ship have low hull. I get that it's a sci ship but it has almost the same hull as the Intrepid which is 2/3's the size.

Dev's Please make an adjustment to at least Wells class hull of 30k

Looks awesome, and i think i have to try it as i abolutley love the vesta design...also the full circle variant is included..wow...damn right in the wallet :D

but the stats make no sense to me. its big like a sovy, but has less hull than an escort, yet also turns like something way smaller? STO was always kind of silly in that terms...but that really makes no sense to me. should have been laid out differently to my taste...31500 hull and 10 turn or something like that would be a better compromise i think.

one question about the phaser cannon...is it a special weapon (only usable on the vesta, occupying one weapon slot) or is it an additional "ability" of the ship?

Well again another OP ship. The hangar wasn't needed. And with 27k hull and 1.35 shield modifier, it'll be even more resilient than a regular escort.

3 seperate costumes. Honestly I think that is my favorite part so not everyone will look the same. I tip my hat to the designers involved.
