I think it is a big mistake(hopefully) that they made such a big ship have low hull. I get that it's a sci ship but it has almost the same hull as the Intrepid which is 2/3's the size.
Dev's Please make an adjustment to at least Wells class hull of 30k
What would you like to take off in exchange for more hull and shields?
Looks awesome, and i think i have to try it as i abolutley love the vesta design...also the full circle variant is included..wow...damn right in the wallet
but the stats make no sense to me. its big like a sovy, but has less hull than an escort, yet also turns like something way smaller? STO was always kind of silly in that terms...but that really makes no sense to me. should have been laid out differently to my taste...31500 hull and 10 turn or something like that would be a better compromise i think.
one question about the phaser cannon...is it a special weapon (only usable on the vesta, occupying one weapon slot) or is it an additional "ability" of the ship?
its a t 5 console , so it'll be unique to the multi mission sci ship line
Normally, I'm one to complain because you guys normally drop the ball on this stuff and drop it hard! However, it looks like some talking books are your saving grace because I am impressed with the details of the Vesta implementation and we all know you guys lack proper reading and comprehension of the English language! :P Good job on this ship! I like how it looks, I like the powers and abilities, I definitely like that they have 10 console slots each, and I even like the 3 ship pack implementation. This is the first ship since the MVAM that you guys really nailed! This is definitely a buy for me!

I don't mind the ship being a smidge OP since it was a speshul snowflake Mary Sue does-everything ship in the novels of origin, but come on. Surely some of your testers are looking at this and going "Well this is stupid."

Okay, why call the hanger bay excessive and pointless? The original Vesta from the novel had it; why not now?
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
Because it's an extra feature on a ship that has too many features.
Something's gotta give, and the hangar is the only thing on this ship that feels tacked on for the sake of making the ship even more of a fanboy supership.
but where does this say its a console? could be an ability like Sensor Analysis
oooh you mean the sensor dish cannon ?
' The Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Explorer: Aventine Class features a bonus Tactical Console slot, and bonus Weapon Power. The Aventine Class also comes equipped with a Quantum Field Focus Controller universal console. The Quantum Field Focus Controller can reroute main power to the Deflector Dish and fire a high intensity Quantum Field Focus Phaser through the Main Deflector. '

All it needs is at least a 3K boost to Hull - with the lock-box ships at 30k this seems too light. Given its size it seems wayyyy too light.
Turn rate is Ok - the design and the reason it was given cannons was it was build to be highly manuverable - so that fits with the books.
Nope i do meant the Aux Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Acc] [Dmg]x2. There?s no word in the discription saying its a console, or a weapon, or an ability. could be everything.

We Science captains have been needing a serious leg-up for almost 9 months. We haven't had a decent science vessel that could do more than support since the RSV (Wells doesn't count, as a LB ship). I for one as a SCI Captain, welcome this ship, and I will be buying the full pack. Don't complain about "OP". My current RSV build is a DEMON, and a serious upgrade like this is just what I and other SCI caps needed.

I disagree. The Excelsior moves at a good enough speed. It's slow enough to make cannons not the first choice you could make, but fast enough to keep them viable. The ship is supposed to be multi-role, jack of all trades, master of none. Sensor Analysis plus the ability to keep heavy cannons effectively pushes it way too close to Escort territory. Throw in CRF2, APB1, and APA if you're a Tac, and suddenly this science cruiser is packing a huge bite...
Having the turn rate around Excelsior levels, maybe a bit faster, would mitigate this without making it impossible to do with some RCS consoles.
Then again, I'm not a systems designer. What do I know, right?

Even with my changes, you still have a relatively nimble Science cruiser that can shoot DHC'ss with Sensor Analysis.
If I wanted to totally nerf it I'd be crying to drop a console slot and severely reduce the effectiveness of its console set abilities.
I agree, the Vesta needs a slower turn rate of around 8 like the Excelsior. Because the Vesta is a large ship. And from a gameplay viewpoint, a skilled (and full Auxillary) CPB3 burst, plus the Phaser Lance, followed by Dual Heavy Cannons and Torpedos would easily down a player in seconds (in the right hands). We see this for a long time with Bird of Preys.
So heres another question that I just thought of... is the Aux Dual Heavy Phaser Cannon going to be one pership (like the Wide arc quantum or Sao Paulo Quad Cannons)?
I posted on the main site but will give my feedback here:

Great models they look really nice
I like the stats, finally a step in the right direction but the poor Regent

Another $50.00 set or $25.00 ship, given the state of the game new ships this costly have little value
Breaking a fan desired ship into three ships to sell for more money shows the price gouging is here to stay and increasing precipitously.
No new bridge, although this is becoming the norm and the Oddy the exception
My take home, I will not buy any single for $25 or the three pack for $50 bucks...rather I will just add ~158*5000 = ~790,000 dilithium to the pile to collect for the ship.
Yeah, I'll have to see it in action before I go so far as to call it OP. Odds are though, it will be. If nothing else, as a science ship, between a science captain's abilities, a science ship's innate science Boff slots, and now all the special console abilities, we'll be telling the story of the science spamfest for years to come. "There were so many anomalies, we could no longer see the stars! The spherebuilders were totally like omg we're the hell outta here!"
Nothing to do with Cryptic or Mark, I really never had an opinion on the ship's appearance or the quality of consoles, but still I'll continue to hate the Vesta for what it is, always was and always will be; an absurdly deus ex machina heavy fanfic creation for a writer and captain (I suppose that makes Ezri not such a bad choice afterall) who both lack the intelligence to think up creative solutions to their problems to the point of requiring techno-babble I-win switches for every situation. There's plenty of that in Trek, sure, but there's absolutely nothing else in Destiny.
So I don't think I'll be getting this one.
This will be the first Starfleet ship I didn't get.

thanks, didnt get that while reading trough
They have hand picked testers from the community testing it on the test server, AFAIK it won't be available for everyone to test.

That said, I had fun with the Odyssey. At least I'll get a new cannon out of it, (If the damage is higher than my DHC's.)

1) Teamwork and timing is #1
2) You cannot "Kirk It" in every ship
3) You are going to die, just get back up

All Star Trek ships had / have that capability.
Enterprise-D carried a couple of runabouts and the Enterprise-E had it's main shuttlebay of shuttles of that size.
