just had sto crash for me too, closed teamviewer as suggested and it worked, it has been working befor with teamviewer in the background though, starange
After some troubleshooting, it should be noted that Teamviewer will only crash your game if you're currently logged into the Contacts panel. when you hit "Login" on the launcher.
Opening it back up directly afterwards causes no issues, even while the launcher is still up.
Teamviewer has a feature called "QuickConnect Button". Once you log into your contacts, it automatically reserves or injects itself into .dll calls on all running applications.
STO launcher seems to be crashing while trying to access a .dll which Teamviewer's service has modified (or is reserving, not sure which).
Options>Advanced>Quick Connect Button> Add Exception for "Star Trek Online.exe" without the quotes, or just disable QuickConnect altogether.
That should fix it.
Edit: I wish I could find the crash logs for STO launcher. I had to attach a disassembler to figure out what was going on. Was overkill. Looking at the Teamviewer logs shows the release of the .dll's on running applications after logging out of contacts. Whoops.
I tried search for this problem but could not find it so I'm sorry in advance if this question has already been answered before. When my starfleet character turn 25 i started a klingon character played till 26 no problem

Went to make a ticket got You must supply a language ever time got flustered so putting it here, or can you tell me the deal with You must supply a language?
Yesterday I just started to play and I logged off to eat. When I came back to play again it didn't load. When I double click the desktop icon a small box appears "trying to update cryptic auto launcher". Occasionally the launcher loads but then it says that it cannot connect to the website and to try again later. Or if it does load properly when I click engage nothing happens. I am not sure what else to do.
Also I seem to have issues with the STO website. Sometimes it will load properly and work, other times it tells me it is not available. It is all a matter how often I push F5 to refresh. I have looked through the website and the FAQ to find out more information and nothing really helped.
I've been having this issue for a couple of days now. I restarted my computer, and no avail. I'm playing STO through Steam, though I'm unsure if that matters. Everything else connects just fine. So I know it is not my internet connection.

Sadly this has been happening since May, I signed back up because the other night it was working again. I tried the launcher 20 times just to be sure, then the next day I get the window that its trying to connect to patch server. I dont get it, if I wait until 6 or 7 EST the game will work 90% of the time, the rest of the day is iffy, I wish we could get some answer from Cryptic on whats causing this, if I have to cancel again I wont be back.
For all the good it will do I sent another email off to support, I really dont think they care. But they will have to notice eventually when noone can log in anymore, this really is annoying. We will see what develops but if I have to cancel again I will not come back until I know this is fixed and even then, lots of new and better games are coming along.
I called my ISP (which is never fun) this morning just in case it was an issue on their end of course they deny any blocking or issues from them so there's that. <.<
Still cannot connect to the patch server (its past 36 hours since I've had this issue) autoupdate hangs and will not connect.

I've dumped way to much money into the C-Store to just rage quit, this needs to be fixed I don't care if its just a few of us. Hell I was going to get the new ship that comes out this week but if I can't access the game I'm certainly not dumping any money into it.
