Season 7 is said to have all the content, but that won't come for months...Too little, too late.
If I am unable to buy these ships with the Zen I just bought, I am not even going to consider being around for season seven. Its too-too-too-too-too far away for me to even care.

I ironically wanted new content, so I can use the ships I bought. Why would I want the same thing to happen on the other end? Once you get your fleet base to tier five, the tier in which my counterpart ships reside, I will be buying new ships without any new content for them. If they allowed these new fleet ships to be purchased for Zen, (making them available to all level 50 players), people will enjoy using them to build the bases.

Its a double negative. You grind, build your bases, buy the ship, and then... the end. We will be back to square one all over again. Why buy a tier 5 fleetship if you cannot use it to level? Its the same flaw all over again. Perfect World either doesn't learn or they just don't care.

This might sound like a stupid question, but I am completely clueless about the whole fleet ship situation. If I'm in a fleet, do I have to get a fleet ship? What is the deal with fleet ship modules? I made it to vice admiral not too long ago and I bought the tactical escort retrofit, and I have no intention of paying anymore money to buy another ship. Couldn't I just use the ship I have during fleet missions?

This is just absolutely digusting. I thought the c-store was about convience and offering things OUTSIDE OF THE normal game content. Now we have to do a bunch of content THEN pay money? This is absolutely unacceptable.

Is that how it works now?

    Seriously uncool.

If you are looking to purchase a Fleet Ship that has a T5 C-Store version and you already own the T5 C-Store version, you only need to purchase 1 Fleet Ship Module (FSM) instead of 4. If you've purchased a non-T5 ship from the C-Store that has a Fleet Ship version, you will still need to purchase 4 FSMs.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

And you don't see how this is wrong?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

I hate to sound like a jerk, but Brandon do you actually /play/ the game? I know you logon occasionally but do you actually /play/? Those modules will be well above 100million plus EACH - guranteed. I don't know about you but 100mil EC isn't exactly a couple days worth of grinding. Dilithium on the exchange? Assuming you even hit the cap of dili per day; your talking 2+ MONTHS of constant daily grinding - the math just doesn't work out.

Going off the past exchange rate on C-Store items, it'll be between 3.2 and 9 million a piece, depending on demand, which can be had in a week's worth of fairly reasonable EC farming, if you're dedicated.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this. I understand the mechanics of the purchasing but it seems a model that knocks the legs out from under itself.

What I mean is; The "privilege" of having access to these special ships seems a rather dubious honour.

If the highest contributors to advancing fleetyard developments are the persons who are eligible to pick up the ship they are the ones also taking the hardest hit on their ground resources. The dilithium they would be grinding to take to market and convert to zen has been utilized to fuel the tier fleet project they bought into to get the prize.

The need for dilithium is going to ride high. As it is required for projects in addition to the grind to convert to zen the rate of exchange is unlikely to improve and terribly likely to widen. Even if the demand isn't really there the speculators will have a field day so running to the exchange seems like poor consolation.

    That is a start.

Here is the flaw. In order for me to buy those ships, I have to help someone grind their fleetbase to tier five. You are asking me to sacrifice my time and energy, so that some other player can build a base. Once I finally obtain those tier five fleetships, I will have no new content to use them with. We will be back to square one.

Grind, grind, grind, buy ship, and then... what?

If I were able to buy those ships now, while I have the money in hand, I can use them to help people build their bases. It will give the tier five fleetships a purpose.

You folks want money for nothing. After injecting at least $120 into the system, over only a few months, I am now questioning the logic behind playing this game. I cannot give you money for something in which has no purpose. Its not logical. It not practical. It doesn't make any sense.

You broke my morale. You broke my trust as a paying c-points (zen) consumer.

You broke my trust as a Star Trek fan.

As long as the availability of dilithium doesn't go dramatically down, that's not so bad.

Because, y'know, when the dust settles, a day's haul of dilithium might get you 7x the C-Points it has been.

The higher the demand for dilithium, the better.

Put me in the "not wanting to pay money for something I've already had to grind months for" camp. At the very least, make it an account bound ship - give us one, sure, but allow us to transfer to an alt if we choose. You have the account banks now, use them!

Don't forget that the Fleet Ship Modules are tradable so you may be able to find one on the exchange. And as always, you can sell Dilithium on the Dilithium Exchange for ZEN.

    Cheers,

Cryptic set up the wrong expectations. they told us the fleet ships would be lower then the C-store ships, but it turns out that they were wrong. they set the wrong expectations and because of that the customers are not happy.

It is like that with any business. If you set a customers expectation to something and it doesn't happen for what ever reason. ( be it your fault or not ) it is going to upset the customer. It is just nature.

Now I won't lie.. I am not shocked one bit about today. yeah they did say it would be lower, but I didn't expect it to work out like they had put it. lol I guess I have just learned from being around here.

This really does nothing for anybody. FSM on the exchange are going to cost whole bunches of energy credits (30m is what I'm guessing they will become stable at), dilithium is great and all but the new item will put too much stress on that system, and with the added grindiness of the new fleet system... throwing a new form of RMT into the mix is too much.

    Too much.

See, Brandon, you and the devs just dont get it.

By making it tradeable on the exchange, you have made it IMPOSSIBLE for anyone but a SMALL number of players to get them.

    Want to know why?

Because by the end of the week, they will all be posted at the max of 1 BILLION EDCs.

You and the devs just dont understand that your game is populated by MERCHANTS, whose only life goal is to play the exchange to their ingame profit, even though it is only fantasy money, and not real money.

Until you actually put a cap on items like these in the exchange, all you've donr for us in Season 6 is give us nothing but a massive headache.

The demand may rise but what is it being purposed for? The game currency that matters is zen. Zen supply is as variable as how much real world currency people are willing to inject into the game. I can covert dilithium into zen but not into real money. I can convert real money into zen and into dilithium. It's like a one way valve or being on a see-saw with a fat kid.

Real world currency is the most likely drive toward a new purchase under this model. Dilithium which can become zen will be diverted into fleet projects and the surplus that many people grind to make in game purchases is expended just to be allowed to make the purchase at all. More real money will probably be making it's way to the c-store per single transaction; I'm uncertain if as many transactions will be made though.

At least I can play missions and buy ships off the C-store ( if I want them) without paying 15 dollars a month too?

It is a lot of the same that we had before. just growing more with the trade off of saving 15 dollars. ( personally I just like the idea of paying 15 dollars to the Cstore and being done with it instead of subbing. you get a lot more for your money. )

You need Fleet Ship Modules (c-store item, pony up the cash) to be able to buy a fleet ship.

Fleet ships aren't mandatory, but they ARE upgraded versions of the current dilithium/c-store ships. Upgrades included extra console slots, better BOff slots, and upgraded ship stats.

And yes, the "fleet tactical escort retrofit" will trounce your c-store "tactical escort retrofit".

^ that or drop the purple junk. make energy credits universal, revamp crafting so players make most of the stuff and give me a spread sheet to run my transactions.

That way I can dump EVE and get both my kicks here. }:D I have to be a ferengi over there when I should be doing it here.

I had never anything against selling NEW ships, with NEW layouts, NEW abilities and NEW skins through C-Store. Ie. there was much work in them, and I appreciated the work done with my money.

But the whole fleet ship situation is beyond GREEDY.

Those fleet ships are NOT NEW SHIPS, ALMOST NONE HAS NEW layouts, NO NEW abilities and NO NEW skins. What's more, some of the Fleet layouts are completely useless. They are unlocks only for ONE character and add only few numbers here and there, something a person can do in excel sheet in half day - and to be honest, some of the experienced players could do much better work at it.

Even tho I was buying ships in the past, I WONT BUY ANY fleet token.

As everyone here has made transparently clear, Brandon, this is a SNAFU. The Dilithium prices are sky-high and any FSMs that show up on the Exchange will be in the 8- to 9-digit range. If you actually think more than a fifth of the players here actually have that much ECs in stock, you are sadly out of touch. Remember the Gold Lockbox Exchange that some dev FUBAR'd? That only rewarded players who exploited a bug and punished players who didn't. It made the rich richer, which caused all prices to be jacked up even higher.

Like soundwisdom asked, do you actually play this game? Just try it, please. Create a secret, entirely new PWE account and play this game without the use of your dev powers and dev pocketbook.

Wow. As someone who has been trying very hard to stay positive about this game, to convince my friends to keep playing, to keep everyone involved, this is utterly a slap in the face. The cost is obscene in time in resources as it is, but on top of it its obscene in Zen? That's just too much. I'll peck away at our fleets starbase, but don't expect me to ever buy one of those tokens at that price.

As someone before said, as a per character unlock 100zen would be reasonable. Maybe 500 zen but reduced resource costs. But 2000? I know many of the devs probably had absolutely no say in the pricing, but seriously. For shame. How greedy. How absolutely greedy.

You know what's more difficult than getting people to pay for in game items for profit? Getting an empty playerbase to do the same.

Well you obviously buy the marks only for one character, so you get it only for one character. Unlock was probably poor wording on my part.

Nailed it right on the head there. I was so looking forward to getting a fleet upgrade for my Excelsior, but forget it now. In fact, I am giving up dropping any further money in this game. I understand PWE needs money to keep the game running, but must they suck us dry to do it?

I have no problem with this. if you own a T5 you can pay a little bit more and some grind and get an upgrade, which is optional.

or if you have not bought a t5 or one does not exist then you pay the full amount and grind, which is fair considering the number of c-store ships bought at full price.

plus you can use the exchange if you wish.

not what i was expecting but i think its a good compromise and i like it.
