Spidermitch,
As much as the Heavy Escort Carrier not fitting in the open spot in the RA TAC section. I think it could of fit , but using the VA markers, but that's just me.
I take it the image of the Console for the HEC shown in the Dev Blog isn't good quality for you to use in your Chart? Now that Carriers are on the FED and Klingon sides, how much trouble would be to add a section on Fighter Bay ships to both Charts? This is more just a general question than anything else.

I was using the stats listed in the CStore when working on the chart today. I'd forgotten completely about the Dev blog showing the icon! good catch. Did a quick update / upload to include this on v8.1.6 (refresh if you don't see it). Also: I've been toying around the idea (as a few others have suggested about adding a "what ship can launch what shuttles" kinda legend with some icons on the carrers that can launch them. Still thinking about it though. Since fighter ships can be added and removed on a whim, I want osmething that's easily maintenance. I guess what I'm saying is: I'll keep brainstorming & maybe post a sample of what I have in mind for discussion on this thread.
Very nice shield modifiers (only a little typo with science oddy, it's 1,1, not 1,11). Oh, and the impulse ones as well. Good work as always, thanks.
I went to ESD and elbowed my way up to the ship requisition lady and found that all the shield modifiers for all ships has been put there. Not sure how long they've been there, but they were there. Kinda saw a pattern too: Other than Lt. Tier ships, Escorts are .9, Cruisers are 1, Science is 1.3. Then I went to the Odyssey subclasses and found that they are all listed as 1.15. Double-checked the C-store and again found 1.1 for the Science. So I'm thinking the 1.1 is supposed to be 1.15 and is a typeo. Just like my 1.11 blunder. So, I've just put 1.15 until otherwise declared.
and i definitely like the new shield indicator, along with the impulse HUD. i also really liked how the shield bubble was stretched to the Odyssey's larger size my only question is why is the Atrox's impulse color blue instead of red? (or is that how it is normally in-game?)
No problem bro! Wasn't trying to come down on you or anything. I just got the wind knocked out of my sales when I saw it was a VA ship. no biggie. And yeah, that Atrox has cool blue trails. There's a shot on the DevBlog it was in that shows it. Or just hang around DS9/ESD long enough and I'm sure you'll see one. I also just updated the Vulcan DKyr so I could put yellow trails on it, which I'm currently flying!!! Now if I could only slap on an Aegis set on that pretty little Vulcan arrowhead...
Wow, that was fast! And sorry for the Oddy misinformation, then.
Btw, that pattern on shield modifiers you found is actually already in the chart: The -10% shield strenght on escorts (first row), and +30% shield strenght for science ships (third row). The problem with that is that they tend to add "special new ships" that don't necessarily obey the class rules (the Atrox doesn't get +30% shield, but just +20%, the oddys, though technically cruisers, get +15% shields). Also not sure about how the other bonus science, escort and cruiser stats apply.
It could potentially wreak havoc in the chart if you had to move every ship that doesn't obey the general class rules. Sorry to add another potential dilemma.

which pieces do you need? i have 3 mil on one character just lying around, i could easily buy the pieces off the exchange and mail them to you (or barring that, craft them myself) I'm a big fan of the Aegis myself

i don't think he needs to move every ship around at all. he keeps the chart's shield indicator and Impulse HUD the same, but for every ship that doesn't obey that general rule, he can add the new artwork to show this
Of course, Trek17, that would be the simplest way around it that I wouldn't mind in the slightest. But given the perfection Spidermitch seems willing to achieve (adding a column for the Armitage, instead of placing it in the RA slot and somehow pointing out an exception), it seemed right for me to raise that last concern (having to move ships around).
Simply put, I'm just afraid SpiderMitch spends too much time laboring on the charts instead of enjoying the game.
Euh,... in retrospect, maybe just ignore my last comments, lately I seem to have a problem thinking straight.

truth be told, i'm worried about when the fleet starbases arrive. they'll be a great gameplay mechanic for fleets, along with those who just want endgame stuff... but from what little we know, there's gonna be starbase-only ships you can acquire.
and we don't know how many there are, for either side... even more than 5 will force Spidermitch to rearrange his charts again, or make an entirely new chart just for these ships
i welcome the starbases for those who will enjoy them... but i worry about the workload it'll put on Spidermitch

Haha All of em. and LOL @ 3mil just laying around' GEEZ! I've not seen a quarter of that. haha. Anyway, I started collecting the particles & such, but quickly realized I would have to spend a little too much time farming for everything & upping my crafting... Between these charts, other projects & personal stuff, I kinda got discouraged. So yeah, if you wanna overhaul my pretty vulcan ship, I wouldn't say no.

Well, at the very least, thanks for everyone's concern! Truth be told, I actually do enjoy working on these charts. It's definitely a labor of love though, and takes a GREAT deal of time. (and going back and changing all the little huds / angles / etc... doesn't really help matters, but that's my own darn fault!) It's often difficult to choose to work on these charts over playing / doing dailies / STFs / roleplaying / etc... but I enjoy making something that so many people use to enhance their gameplay experience. I take great pride in my work and as I've said, I enjoy sharing it with the STO community.
People worry about how much work I have to do on these charts, and it's an understandable concern, but I do it out of my love for Star Trek and for the fans of this game / franchise. What's really more of a concern for me is not being able to get stuff in-game due to these out-of-game projects. (see Aegis example above). This will definitely become more apparent when Fleet-based ships come into existence. As it stands, I'm really not part of any active fleets (not mentioning the RP fleets I've joined and can't participate in the RP due to scheduling conflicts, but I digress). When Fleet-based gameplay comes around in this next season, I worry that my solitude in the game will hurt the actual reason I am secluded: these charts (that's kinda a self-fulfilling irony, huh?). If I'm not able to gain access to fleet ships and such, I can't put them on the charts - or even make a new chart...
Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that I need me a fleet; and one that's not too hung-up on me not being always in-game. Anyone that has any recommendations, I'm open to hear them. I need a fleet that is active who will advance, allowing access to these mystery ships. And while I'll try my best to help out with that advancement, be aware that my time is greatly divided and I may not be able to ALWAYS participate. I suppose not to fill up this thread, you can send me an in-game mail. My birthday is tomorrow, so I may not be able to respond ASAP.

You should apply to join Jupiter Force, I could maybe assist more in collaborating with the chart then as well ;-)

actually, i could send them right now, i crafted them a day or two ago All i need is your character's name, and I think I should be good
and you could just send it by mail instead of posting it here (if everyone knew, you might get swamped with chat when you are in-game)

Fantastic charts. Do you have the images for the Stalker Fighter? If not I do.
Also the Tuffli-Class Freighter is now in DOF packs.
Also if I may; the Shuttle charts might look better if the Fed Shuttles where arranged in this order: Class F, Type 8, Type 10, Delta, Danube, Yellowstone, Peregrine, Stalker, Tal'Kyr, Yacht. So Shuttle, Flyer, Runabout, Fighters, and Auxiliary craft.
Also have you thought about making a pets chart?
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Fantastic work here spidermitch. Any in-game support I could provide?
I will probably be buying the sovereign refit as soon as it is availible.
If you wish to send him dilithilum, you can use his 'Spidermitch Ship Chart Donation' Foundry mission: a few simple clicks, mission complete, and in the little corner of the review screen, an option to tip him dilithilum (up to 100 at a time, per review)
If you wish to send him C-Store points, first you buy them on the little cards, then send him the code to his in-game email (@spidermitch), and he'll be able to use them.
And as for other items, you can send almost anything else to him through the regular mail at a Starbase (as long as it's not bound).

I wish they had let us keep our Cryptic Accounts, or at least carried our Forum Thread Subscription Information over from those Accounts to our Perfect World Accounts.
Hey, SpiderMitch sent you an in game mail to the @ name posted in the first message of this topic extending you an invitation to my fleet called Tribbles 'n' Bits, thought I would post here to let you know as well.
Well fellas, I think I've been thinking about starting a new thread since I can no longer edit the original post with updates / version numbers / changes to links as they happen.... etc. It sucks we'll loose the hit count (at about 190k at the moment), all the replies, dev posts, etc...
And people will have to update their bookmarks (which I'm going to try to use bit.ly's new URL editing to redirect the old bit.ly/stoshipchart to the new thread).
Hopefully, I can get a dev to re-sticky it.
UPDATE:
I read through some posts from the Devs about the forums, and unless I missed it, they don't seem to be saying "Editing past posts" to be a problem that they're working on. Am I wrong? Are they, indeed working on it & I just missed it?
Should I just sit tight, or go for making a new thread?

I think you should make a new thread, Spidermitch
If you can't keep your charts up-to-date, your effort will quickly become wasted. It sucks that you'll lose this massive thread, it really does... but people love your work. They can easily change their bookmarks and all that.
And by making a new thread, you'll make a post under your own name, instead of Archived Post. That way, you can edit your charts to new changes.
And once a dev is aware, they'll happily re-sticky it
(And on the 'editing past posts' issue, I read something about that. They tried to keep the Archived Posts under original names, they really did, but it caused unacceptable security issues or something like that... so they relucantly kept it as it now)

Thx for the reply bud. Yeah, I thought I saw something somewhere about the security issue. Just thought I'd post here to make sure. I hope this weekend I'll be able to make some much-needed updates to the Shuttle/Special Shipchart with the Stalker & Freighter as well as continuing with the shield mod HUD on the FED chart.
Note: I'll be working on getting links corrected on the post there, as well as the bit.ly link, if I can. Please use the new thread for all new posts / comments / suggestions, etc....
It's been a fun few years with this thread. Kinda sad to leave after 623 posts, 190,708 forum hits. See everyone on the new thread!
