    I agree.

I'd like access to that ship without having to go through the hoops of inviting someone to a game that I wouldn't even recommend in the first place.

I do not have any problem with this, but if I were Cryptic, put something in place to get people to stay first.

Now, in fairness I have not tried the new content, but do you think it is enough?

I think you guys might be putting the cart before the horse. Get some content in, then start a referal program. Currently my recommendation is "wait and see."

First, I think the 3-nacelle designs (and most of the Cryptic ship designs) are horrible.

Intrepdiox and Flato, I agree with both of you. It's utterly amazing how much money people seem willing to throw at this game rather than take a little time to earn it in-game. For all of you who complained about raids and who made all of those cute little quips about what they can do with raids, that's how a lot of other people feel about all of the items going into the C-store or being tacked on to things like the RAF promotion. Do I need or want every little item in the game? No, not even close, but I am willing to spend time in-game to earn what I want since I don't think it's fair to pay a subscription and something extra for items that a lot of P2P MMOs include in their games as part of the monthly fee.

Seriously Cryptic, add all of this C-store garbage as STF rewards or other mission/FA rewards and watch your retention double instantly. While there will always be the people who don't mind being taken advantage of to buy from the C-store, there are also a lot of people paying $15/month who will stay in just to earn that one item they really want but don't want to pay extra for and then they will repeat that again for the next item.

Kinda makes you wonder which Cryptic is more interested in: $2.00 now or $15.00 month-to-month.

i'm glad there are some people that can see sense, I was beginning to think I was going insane and maybe *I* was wrong! hah! :D

    but yeah...
Step 1. Remove all the C-Store ships from the C-Store, refund everyone their points. (And I am one of the people that has bought all of the C-store ships thus-far and a bunch of Bridge packs)
Step 2. Add "Schematics" that drop from the end bosses on STF's. You use the Schematic to build the ship parts in the new Memory Alpha system.
Step 3. Profit. Watch your retention rate of the game increase 200% and people actually running the end-game STF's, having fun and playing the game because they have something to work towards not just junk Valour badges for duplicate gear with a crappy [Borg] affix.

but rather than the above, Cryptic would prefer to just make a quick buck before the game goes under rather than try to salvage it. :(

If this Galaxy class has the same turn rate the T4 one does, I'll stick with my Sovereign cruiser anyway. Getting carpal tunnel syndrome just trying to make a simple turn is ridiculous.

Agreed with those saying it should be a quest reward or some sort of reward in game for achieving something. As should a lot of other stuff. Giving people reason to do things is what this game is needing. Instead of charging people for content while not providing enough in the game itself is kind of counter productive. Start putting in missions that unlock items. Put in a mission where you have to figure out how to stop a paradox from happening or something that iinvolves Q teaching you a lesson about life and when you compelete it it unlocks the 3 nacelle Galaxy. I mean geez, it just seems so obvious to me to do stuff like this.

Before any more pitchforks get handed out... let me offer up some info before you go burning down the village.

The 3-Nacelle Future Enterprise config will be an exclusive variant of a T5 Galaxy ship we are planning to add to the game as we increase the skillcap at various points in the future. In fact I see plans on the schedule to add T5 versions of the Galaxy, Intrepid, and Defiant class.

So yes - the Future Enterprise - 3 Nacelle config is an exclusive "variant" and may be the only T5 Galaxy for a while, but there will be ways to get similar ships in the future - they just might not have the 3rd Nacelle - or front mount single phaser cannon.

you may now go back to your regularly scheduled riot...

I was a huge Star Trek Fan and
    I was huge Cryptic Fan.

I read the new "Refer a friend" page today.

I'm still a huge Star Trek Fan but
I'm not a Cryptic Fan any more.

Almost every real TNG and Star Trek fan would like to see too ships in the game, usable in T5: The Galaxy (and it's AGT-variant) and the Excelsior (including its refit). I posted in petitons, voted and even wrote a ticket with this suggestion to give Cryptic a hint, what me and my friends liked to see and to pay for (!). Even putting it in the c-store for a high price wouldn't be a problem.

    But what did Cryptic?

To get the ship I want most within this game, I have to bring five more subs and retail buyers to your game! Although I already gave away all three Guest Passes from my collectors and the free trial token from the homepage to my friends.

So everybody I know is already playing for weeks and month now because I recruited them (!). This way I have no chance to get the ship.

Seriously, Cryptic. You had a great fan here, and you kicked his butt the worst way you could do. Do you know what my fleet is discussing at the moment? Leaving the game because of this. One of our players just wrote in fleet chat what most of our Star Trek Fans feel like: "Once I see this so-wanted ship around without having a real chance to get it by yourself, it will be no fun anymore for me."

I'm "just" a customer and don't have the power to convince you to bring this great Galaxy-X-skin to everyone or even the c-store, but I can ask you to PLEASE think about this decision! It's one of the worst you've done since you released "our" game.

    Best regards from Europe,

I think SpikeTV is running Voyager some nights really late. I was up pretty late last night and the first episode was on. I didn't watch it as much as TNG or even DS9 for that matter before but can't remember when it "jumped the shark" for me but I know it was during the first season.

TBH, I really don't see the atteraction in the AGT Enterprise - and personally I think this whole thread is a example of Fan ****.

The AGT Enterprise is just a skin for a existing T5 Cruiser. It's not gonna have a working phaser cannon on the underside of the saucer, and it's not gonna have the exceptional speed and turning radius of the show one, either. It's not going to be a cruiser that maneuvers like a Escort.

It's not the fanboi's wet dream that you saw in the series, it's JUST A SKIN FOR A EXISTING T5 CRUISER, AND NOT A PARTICULARLY ATTRACTIVE ONE AT THAT.

Look at it without the effects shots: Gallery of both the normal Galaxy AND the AGT Enterprise

Please try not to have your imaginations run away with you - it doesn't really matter if you have this mutant or not - the Galaxy itself is a clean design.

This is actually a really cool clue for a design precedent. Namely, the return of ships for high tier applications. I LOVE IT!

I think ALL of the C-store items should be available via gameplay methods. The C-store or referral methods would just allow people to use RL means to get them if they somehow cant get in via the gameplay method.

So far Cryptic are just content to fleece their playerbase of every single bit of money they can get by using carrots the playerbase actually requested.

    Want a Ferengi - C-Store - 80 Points
    Want a Klingon - C-Store - 240 Points
    Want a Pakled - C-Store - 160 Points
    Want a Tellarite - C-Store - 200 Points
    Want a new emote - C-Store- 120 Points
    Want 2 more character slots - C-Store - 500 Points
    Want a new ship skin - C-Store - 160 - 240 x 6 for each Federation T5 at least
    Want a new bridge pack - C-Store - 80 - 240 Points x 6 for each Federation T5 at least

Amount of Points to get EVERY item excluding, rename, respec.

    Approx, 4000 Points
    Cryptic Points cost = $62.50 - 5000 Points

Cryptic has near enough $60 worth of trivial garabge on their C-Store and they intend to keep shoveling more out while the game suffers from a general lack of content and gameplay problems.

Good to see where Cryptic's focus lies eh ?

    Oh but whats coming next...

    ...

    Want a Caiten - C-Store
    Want more bridges - C-Store
    Want more emotes - C-Store
    Want Pre-order items - C-Store
    Want a Romulan - C-Store
    Want a Hirogon - C-Store
    Want Borg - C-Store
    Want a Federation Cloaking Device - C-Store
    Want Anything - C-Store.
Want more content - Get it at the C-Store.

If they are that desperate for money then up the monthly subscription and have these items free or earnable via the game. When I say via the game I do not mean stupid 500 days later.
I mean, I complete STF X or complete Accolade = I get ship skin, etc.

Its sickening that on top of the monthly subscription players are going to be getting shafted via the C-Store for stuff that is broken down into the most stupidly trivial additions.

Is that before or after people started a riot in the store over a promotional sign?

If it was before - I could see your point - but once people are calling for the store to be burned, I say its fair game to call a riot a riot.

Expecially when most people wanted an alternate way to get a T5 Galaxy - and that has been in the plans the entire time - it just required a few minutes for us to find the thread and respond with the answer.

Actually, it does have the bad-TRIBBLE phaser cannon on the underside of the saucer - it is a unique power that comes with the ship (ie not a weapon slot) and fires a narrow cylindor beam that (I believe) will be capable of hitting multiple targets.

Yeah, I suppose it was said in jest, but I am getting tired of the whole "thrown under the bus" mentality the staff has.

Now, on this particular non issue of more fluff, I couldn't care less about more fluff. I still have a borked up bridge pack to remind me of how little I, and the game, needs more fluff.

The game needs seriously big fistfulls of content yet they take time to make these items and ones like the Table when they should be adding to the game , fixing the bucketload of bugs.
Take time out to help players who have told them they cant play at all because of a bug perhaps?

Even when they do make ship parts for us they charge us more , yes i kow we dont have to buy it but its time spent with our subs is it not?

Saying that i would buy these items from the c-store and have done so , but this is bewilldering , if i had 5 friends interested enough dont you think id have asked for them to join me? A couple have done and since left yet im here still.

Ive been here since headstart but to get the GX by buying or refering 5 more friends is plain daft when i should get it in the c-store , infact it sould be added free of charge! im asumeing they got it passed so they can add it , then add it now for free or c-store.

Game needs more to it and at end game , so dont charge us even more when were paying for very little returns , and useing our paid subs to make something to charge us once more for .

Ive tried to defend the game to my friends but cant defend it even more, if these silly little things continue to carry on , theres allready a divide cryptic made when they added the table so dont make more divides!

A lot of people have told me it got better as it went on (as is the case of most (all?) Trek series; I just couldn't get into it, really), so I'm planning on going back and giving it another try.

As for Voyager, I have all seven seasons on DVD and have watched them many times. In fact, if/when the UGCE comes about, I plan on trying to recreate some of my favorite episodes (most of them are the bottle shows, so I'm hoping that by the time the engine is introduced, the interiors will be fully fleshed out).

Just to post something on the topic, I'm not really concerned about the AGT Enterprise myself. Reading through the thread, though, I see many are. I hope that there is some way other than the 5 RaF requirement to obtain it, because I'd hate for people not to be able to use it simply because they couldn't draft 5 other people into the game.

Can't speak for him, but if I were in line behind you I'd give a loud belly laugh to make it incredibly obvious how absurd I think you're being.

This devolving of this thread is exactly why I don't blame cryptic for not listening to every "concern" of the "fan" base. There's something to be argued with "we should have an alternate way of earning this", even though they're a business and they don't really need to do anything they don't want to if they feel this way is more profitable, but the thread turning into a bunch of people screaming for making everything in the c-store free adds a lot to the argument that this has turned into a riot. If you're outside a store protesting bad business and people show up screaming about the failure of capitalism and fatcat pigs, you don't go "wuh oh, riot a'coming"?

Even though we are speaking a little OT, DS9 did get nice during the Dominion War. I had stopped watching it before it happened though. Then one night a local station was showing DS9 like 3 episodes in a row. And I caught it with the Dominion War. Only thing is the last episode they showed was Sisko leading a fleet of starships for a showdown. Got it with the "To be continued..." the next night and every night after for two weeks, they had nothing but infomercials on. I was fuming and gave up. lol

So, everyone is taking "special ship" to mean that it will only ever be as a 5-friend referral reward?

I thought the language of the deal was intentionally more vague than that.

It could be an accolade unlock or future veteran reward and still be "special."

    Less special? maybe.
    Still special? yes.

That said, let's wait for dev feedback before sharpening our teeth. :)

Huh... that's a good point. Now that you mention it 'exclusive' has been used in the past, and I'm pretty sure Cryptic has been bitten enough times by this forum to be very careful as to what words they use in an announcement.

QX, time to wait for Cryptic feedback on this. =)

Adding fan favourite ship classes with T5 variants is a smart move, and I hope Cryptic develops a variety of methods to acquire the different ships. I thought the idea of ship schematics being brought to Memory Alpha was interesting. I would amend that concept to have Cryptic create a Utopia Planetia social site. Players bring their 'special' schematics (acquired through STF mission rewards, cryptic points, veteran reward, recruiting, etc.) to the shipyard, and their special 'modernized' classic design is built 'by special starfleet disponsation'. It should be unique process from the usual 'ship stores' as an added reward and incentive to high level/end game players.

Not likely, since then everyone would just point to five other people and claim to have invited them and everyone would be running around with the T5 Galaxy and Cryptic wouldn't get any extra subscribers.
