And here they are, the Research and Development uniform variants.
Extrapolating from the technicians and scientific personnel seen in the various series and films, I took the colors and styles they used and applied them to the 25th Century uniforms. These look especially good when using Science and Engineering Kits, but pretty much any kit works well.

Those are all very fine and very welcome additions to the 25th century uniform variations! Nice job with them!
Blackavaar...in a post or several back you said that with the Jupiter Veteran belt it wasn't possible to alter the colour of the hoops to match the uniform jacket like you could with the other Jupiter belt. I was wondering if you had made the devs aware of this issue and if so have they responded?

If he did, I hope he didn't try it with a PM. The most he'll get in response to a PM is an automated message saying, "We don't respond to PMs. If there is an issue you wish to inform us of, please visit Atari Support."
And when you get there, there are so many hurdles to jump through that it's easier to just leave the site and wait for Ask Cryptic to try bringing their attention to the issue.
Think I'll use the Jupiter 5 variant for my main R&D Character.
Thank you very much!!!!
Any time, man. I'm glad you like them.
BTW, the A05 variant has become my Standard crafting outfit. If you see me at Memory Alpha, that's what I'll be wearing.
Those look good. Good shade of orange. I especially like the B01 variants. I added these to a couple of my Engineer characters.
BTW, what was your inspiration for these? Forgive my ignorance, but which character(s) wore orange and white R&D unis in canon?
Orange was worn by Technicians (especially aboard space stations) in TOS and various DS9 episodes. White was worn commonly by Science teams in many episodes of the TOS series and films. I just combined the two to get the R&D look, since R&D would make use of both Scientists and Engineers.

I sent up a Ticket about it in-game. It would help if others did the same. That's about the best you can do. PMs don't work and posts about costumes in the Feedback forums don't generally get a lot of attention.
I've been trying to get some attention for the Orion Harnesses (can't be worn with Bare Chest any more and look incredibly clippy and stupid with Armor) and the WoK belt (flimsy and cheap looking) too. I might post another thread there soon anyway. The Jupiter Vet belt will be included.

The Jupiter 5 Project Leader Variant is what I have my crafter character wearing--the only time she doesn't wear it is when she's on a mission.

Another thing you can do is wait for the Ask Cryptic Question Submission Thread, and then list the issues you want to address and ask if there are plans to fix them. For example, I'm going to ask for more costume pieces in the Foundry Editor, Hargh'Peng Torpedoes for Klingons, Shuttle Interiors, and the introduction of Katanas into the game.

Using a multitude of images gleamed from the interwebs, I chose the best of the best, fiddled with the colors a bit, chose the best uniforms available in-game to create mock-ups and Voila! The Starfleet Marine Corps uniforms are here!
In addition I found a number of Starfleet Marine Corps emblems, remastered them so that they look smooth and clean and saved them in PNG format to make them easy to use on whatever you might like to use them on. Anyone who wants to use them is free to visit my Emblem Collection and take a look.

More fantastic 25th century uniform additions! Great work my friend! Nice one!
I'm curious, Blackavaar...what would you say is your favourite Starfleet uniform out of all Star Trek media (i.e. TV, movies, books, games, etc.)? Feel free to have more than one favourite btw.

And that's a good question. It's hard to answer because really, I love them all. Yes, even the oddly pajama-like TMP uniforms. I suppose I would have to say that my all time favorites would be the TOS uniforms. They're so simple and yet so striking. It's hard to top that. But I can't dismiss the wonderful utility of the Enterprise uniforms either. So, they would have to be my runner-up.
I do indeed. Your creativity with these uniforms never fails to impress me.

Like you, I love all the uniforms too...but if I really had to say which out of them all was my favourite then it would have to be TWoK uniforms. I think they're great and I like the fact that there's so many variations like bomber jackets, away team coats, combat jumpsuits, waistcoats (or vests as I believe they're known in the US). I also like that this era of Starfleet Uniforms actually gave some distinction for the non-commissioned officers by giving them their own rank insignia. The only thing I found disappointing was that there was never any time for there to be a dress uniform on screen for TWoK uniforms but if it had looked anything like the one that was seen in a couple of DC Star Trek comics I think they'd have done the trick on screen too.
Staying with TWoK uniforms and the variations...I sincerely hope the devs release a WoK uniform pack allowing some of the variations I mentioned, plus the ability to change the rank insignia, and, of course, a brand new belt too.
In joint second place for me would have to be the DS9/VOY uniforms and the First Contact/DS9 uniforms. Reason? Errr...they're primarily black and officers like Jadzia, Ezri, and B'Elanna wear it really well.
Hey there, Blackavaar. I was wondering if you had any plans to create a guide for the TOS uniform variant seen in these screencaps from The Man Trap and Charlie X:

The links work for me okay. And as I'm not sure where else I can post them I'll just tell you what the two images show...they show two female officers wearing a loose necked gold uniform as is typical with the skirt except instead of a skirt both officers are wearing cut-off pants and boots.

Ah! I remember those. Yeah, I guess I could review those episodes and see about making guides for those uniforms.
For some reason the URLs for those links are coming up Forbidden for me here at work. Links to PhotoBucket and such are working fine. Don't worry though. I know what you are talking about now.

The links aren't working for me either. I thought maybe it was like Ex Astris, and you have to right click, copy location, but that doesn't work either. The link to the album itself is fine though: http://tos.trekcore.com/hd/thumbnails.php?album=2
Edit: Bizarre - when I type in a number for a pic I haven't clicked to from the album itself, it's forbidden. But once I've reached it from the album, I can type it in or use links like the ones posted earlier to view it.

Yeah, the album works fine. I wonder why the direct links don't. Weird.
Per my previous post that I edited, it's probably some way to make sure people actually visit the site instead of hot linking images or something. *shrugs*

That's the uniform style that I first chose for my female TOS Captain. Regardless of sitting postures, I just didn't think she looked right in the Captain's chair wearing the mini-skirt. I used:
Upper Body
Uniform - Jacket Loose
The Original Series - Loose
Lower Body
Loose Mid-Ankle
Cutoffs
Soft Boots
When the TOS Tunic with the v-neck was released, I changed her costume to that. But kept my original version for one of my female BO's. To keep things mixed up a bit. The TOS Bundle does a wonderful job of expressing random TOS styles on the wandering crewmen. I hope when we are able to set our own crew uniforms later that I can include this variant, too.
I wanted to suggest the addition of the TOS JAG (Judge Advocate General) Officer. As worn by Areel Shaw in Court Martial. Her uniform was shinier like the TOS Dress Uniform, but less ornate than what the flag officer's wore. The JAG officer didn't display any ribbons or commendations. I thought the TOS Medical dress was perfect to express the look. We just can't give it gold piping around the collar as Shaw's dress did.
Upper Body
Uniform - Jacket Loose > TOS Nurse [red] with [black] collar
Badge > TOS Command (since we haven't any TOS starbase badges to use)
Lower Body
Uniform Short > Skirt - TOS Nurse [red]
Feet > High, TOS Style [black]
Dunno if anyone would want this for TOS starship crew. But it would work well for TOS Foundry Missions.

The elements you used in creating the TOS female uniform variant is precisely the formula I used for my female XO during the Dividian mission that takes you back to the 23rd century undercover. But now that these uniforms have actually been seen to be used in the show itself then they definitely need some of Blackavaar's fantastic guides made up for them.

Very nice Blackavaar. You ever thought about taking a swing at Starfleet Special Operation uniforms?
Very nice Blackavaar. You ever thought about taking a swing at Starfleet Special Operation uniforms?
Actually I already did one. The TOS variants I did for the Section 31 Uniforms guide are actually based on the Special Ops variants seen in the comics. I hadn't considered doing other time periods, but I will now.
Weren't the uniforms worn by Picard, Crusher and Worf in Chain of command Special Op's uniforms? And the black uniforms with the division stripe seen in DS9?

I remember the Chain of Command outfits, and those were never actually called Special Ops, I believe you could legitimately call them such since they were on a Special Operation. And I actually based Federation Mercenary 1 (in the Off Duty section under Mercenary Uniforms) on those outfits.
I'm not remembering the outfit from DS9 though. Can you remember which episode (or at least which season) that was so I can go back and check it out?

IIRC, this was done in Charlie X because the miniskirt didn't look very flattering on the older actress.
