My ship names come from various non-PC RPG's that I've been through (pbem's and such), as well as a name from the Ender Series.
USS LEVIATHAN - from a pbem group I played with
USS DAEDALUS - ditto
USS MORAK - name of a character I played in a PBEM
USS DEMOSTHENES - name taken from the Ender series...
USS MIGHTY THORIK - name of a DnD character I play
For Gearhead.. I name all my ships (For the most part) After my favorite Magic The Gathering Creature: Chromium
For Jilleth, I name them after various Dragon ball Z finishing moves (Such as Candy Beam, or Galic Gun)
For Teapower, there isn't much to it.. though 1 name stands out for me.. the first one, that was randomly Generated: Pu'bic
And then for Web it's various Wrestling Maneuvers depending on the characters I decide to make his costume to look like. Currently it's C.M. Punk so he flys the G.T.S or the Anaconda Vice.
OVERLORD - code-name given to the Allied invasion of Normandy in 1944. Besides, it sounds really bad-*** on a ship and I figured there would be a ton of Galactica's flying around.
U.S.S Kaitiaki - translates broadly as Guardian
U.S.S Tisiphone - is one of the Erinyes in Greek mythology.
U.S.S Alekto - is one of the Erinyes in Greek mythology.
I got interested in the Erinyes names after reading the book Path of the Fury.
My current ship is the U.S.S. Callaghan, named for the "Flashpoint" character Julianna "Jules" Callaghan played by former Pink Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger Amy Jo Johnson.
(who, from what I've seen, hasn't changed a bit since 1993)

I think it's going to be too suggestive if I fly around in the Boston Crab or Schoolboy

U.S.S. Valley Hold - Was a randomly generated name in Kohan: Ahriman's Gift when I was building a fort, loved it and decided to carry it to other games.
U.S.S. Lamprey - Was a weapon in Freespace 2 that drained energy. Of course the starship is armed with polaron weaponry to fit.
U.S.S. Minoa/Palmyra - Two civilizations I played a lot of in Age of Empires.
U.S.S. Erinyes - Fighter ship in Freespace 2 that was just awesome to fly. The name sits on my Peregrine fighter.
My Bajoran sci just got a Bellerophon class named the USS Kalem Apren after a former First Minister of Bajor. Her ships are currently being named after places or people in Bajoran lore.

Then you've gotta have the USS Li Nalas at some point. That would be cool.
U.S.S. Fidelis - Latin for Faithful couple of reasons, Faithful is a great name for a ship, and the latin version is to honour all those uniform. (tactical escort retrofit)
U.S.S. Infinitas - Latin for Infinite/Forever/Eternity I like the idea of a ships name going down in history i.e. being forever remembered this ships name means that. (tactical escort refit)
U.S.S. Hypernova - Its an explosion bigger than a supernova (MVAM)
U.S.S. Navis - its latin for ship which is the closest i could find to yacht (Captains Yacht)
U.S.S. Raptor - its viscious and fast and small (peregrine)
U.S.S. Valkyrie - i was running outa ideas (delta flyer)
Capt. Eben Slade - A play on two words that both mean "black" or "dark." It's my name for any short, dark-skinned, dark-headed avatar I make; it's my handle on Second Life, among other games.
USS Scrapper - My high-school's mascot (GO SCRAPPERS!) and because I loved COH's original melee DPS class.
USS Astraea - Greek goddess of justice for the innocent, daughter of Thetis (wisdom,) and another name for Virgo; she holds the scales of Libra and was the last of the immortals to live among men.
USS Astraeus - Greek god of dusk, husband of dawn, father of both the winds & the planets.
My three Vice Admirals used a lot of ships and these are some of them.
U.S.S. Avenger - named after a starship class from "ufo enemy unknown"
U.S.S. Skyranger - named after a starship class from "ufo enemy unknown"
U.S.S. Moondust - named after a music group my favorit female singer had worked for
U.S.S. William Wallace - named after a medival scottish hero (movie or real)
U.S.S. Clark Griswold - named after a movie Char. I named it in december
U.S.S. Raptor - for a Defiant Retrofit cause it used klingon tactics
U.S.S. Firestorm - named after a starship class from "ufo enemy unknown"
and a danube runabout which i named after a river like in deep space nine
U.S.S. Anduin - a river in middleearth (the U.S.S. Sutherland was named after a ship from a novel in TNG)
Comments

themed to match the captain after all she is kinda homesick.
i would link to the captain's bio but that is no longer an option for the time.

No, she hasn't.
And Flashpoint is awesome.

Yay, another "Flashpoint" fan! So happy to see this show getting more popular!
Is it sad that I started watching it specifically because of her?
Definitely not. One of the main reasons I wanted to check out the show was because of her as well.
I'm still impressed that, even at 41, she looks like she could pass for 19!
You should impart some names /nod

Probably her RA ship will be that. The Bareil Antos will likely be her ship at VA.
Anja's ships before this were the B'hala, the Shakaar Edon, and the Sito Jaxa.
Now I have a USS Bahamut.
Better hope you don't run into someone commanding the U.S.S. Chuck Norris.
Star Trek Generations, right?
"You left Spacedock without a Tractor Beam?"
"It won't get installed until Tuesday."
"How big is your Medical Staff?"
"The Medical Staff? ...doesn't arrive until Tuesday."
"Captain, we don't have any Torpedoes."
"Don't tell me... Tuesday?"
Yeah, that was a fun series of lines.
USS Scrapper - My high-school's mascot (GO SCRAPPERS!) and because I loved COH's original melee DPS class.
USS Iron Tiger - My favorite toon's name on Champions Online. Originally a combination of iron-deficiency anemia and my 13-yo. orange-striped cat Fred.
USS Astraea - Greek goddess of justice for the innocent, daughter of Thetis (wisdom,) and another name for Virgo; she holds the scales of Libra and was the last of the immortals to live among men.
