Meh, TRIBBLE happens. It's not like there are no other games to play while you wait. It's not like they did this on purpose.
I don't understand all the dramatic whining, tgey said that they will make us whole with the freebies and time extension.
To the devs and the moderator, thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Been playing Guardians of the Galaxy, pretty good.
Hmm, I didn't get an update, or an option for one (though I got the one from yesterday). No longer getting the previous unavailability message, but still can't login. I'm instead receiving a message that the login server timed out. Should I try reinstalling the game? Or is this simply a matter of so many people logging in at once, so I should just give it a bit? I'm not in the US, so I don't know if can be an issue for (insert techno babble) to reach us.
The server is up, the update is live, go enjoy, Console Captains, and thanks so much for your patience.
The final day of giveaways will be re-run and the anniversary event and borg resurgence will be extended, but both of these will occur with our update next week.

Thank you to everyone involved in getting the game up and running again - and we're also glad to hear the stuff we missed out on will come back later.

Hmm, still can't login. Went from 'server timed out' message to 'console was unable to retrieve a security token'. If anyone has a suggestion, it would be much appreciated. In the meantime, I trust you're all gallantly protecting the Alpha Quadrant

Did you allow the game to download and install the new update first?

There was no option for an update until just a minute ago. Guess it took the update a bit to work up the courage to cross international boundaries But thank you, for the response. It does seem to be doing its thing now

Yeah, it seems that the new mission is bugged and causes a crash midway through the mission, Idk if this was the initial problem but if it was it doesn't seem to be fixed...
@ambassadorkael#6946 heya Kael, torpedos are bugged in the new mission along with a few other bugs that induce crashes. This may cause some frustration to crop up.
I can't find the Omega Particle mini-game thingy from past Anniversary Events to earn currency for special dance emotes, but the Anniversary hologram banner is present. Am I looking in the wrong place to get the mission, or is that not a part of the Anniversary Event anymore... or is that part the thing that's being delayed until next week?
We're hearing reports of a crash affecting the new mission, "Red Shift," on Xbox and Playstation. We're looking into it now, and will update with more when we know

You have to talk to Q on your given home base before you can start the minigames.
Still a crash bug and the torpedoes don't work in the mission.
So that character is now unusable thanks to said crash. Good job I played it on a toon I don't use much. Guess I'll try the TFO instead.
Server resets your toon after 5 minutes. It's a built in safe-guard.

Odd, Q isn't in the central plaza in First City. I guess I'll check my Starfleet character, and see if he's in ESD.
EDIT: I found him, he's not in the main plaza, he's in the plaza with the tailor and shops. My bad.

Yep just hit it twice myself in almost exactly the same spot. After clearing transporter control, Tilly asks the Inquisitor what he’s doing there, if not for the Marshal. He responds, “I’m here for the Emperororirorororororr”… The sound flips out followed by a full CTD.
Yeh at least dev's are aware now. Though sad that got to see the part at Jupiter Station Deck 3-8 and it crashes every time. Hopefully this specific info helps the dev's figure out what's going on. Had 2 crash's and well the bug makes it impossible to play my character.

The problem is, as much as people are entitled to voice their frustrations, that guy's talk is also unnecessarily over-the-top too imo.
^Because a major issue happened period, it's their "worst experience" in a genre of games and suddenly it escalates to "hours wasted" on "long load times" (which, while not invalid, is being quite overplayed as a reaction) and "I'll go play another game" (because a game has some issues, you just give up? Seems dramatic)? Such talk might be valid if the entire game is a broken mess, which - whatever issues may plague this game - is hardly the experience I've been getting, nor would I say that everyone thinks the same way.
Therefore he sounds selfish at best, and entitled at worst, personally speaking. He may have a point or two, but his manner of expressing it harms his case more than helps it
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
What’s worse, after that crash, it crashes at least once trying to log back in before you can get to a spot that you can abort the mission. Amusingly, it starts you off in the Voyager’s transporter room with Tilly glitching, walking around in the wall and ceiling.
