Less than two weeks left, Captains. We're proud to announce that #AgeofDiscovery will be launching on PC on October 9th, and soon after on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
this is the perfect time for a new temporal agent recruitment! we had one in 2016 and 2017. 2018 is near its end and i would love to see the temporal agent recruitment come back cause real life got in the way last 2 times. i wanna learn more about the ships though! Cant wait for more info! Hype!
Ok, other than the actual launch date, there's not much info... especially would like to know if there is an extra, free character slot like we've got with Legacy of Romulus. My f2p account would be very grateful...
Don't forget, it's Wednesday, so there should be a livestream later on where we might hear some more news.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm usually sleeping when they're doing this, and on top of that, I'd rather read such info. But I'll just wait until the next blog to find out
Just got confirmation that we are giving out an extra character slot.
nice... just need to know if there will be a recruitment drive with this as well... I have standard fed, delta fed, aoy fed & jhd-fed... without an event recruitment drive, I don't think I'll roll another fed toon.
Will there be a testing period on Tribble for AoD?
Portions of it have been on Tribble for a couple of weeks now.

Only ever been 1 Temporal Recruit (AoY) event on PC. We've had a Delta Recruit re-run, but no other has been re-run.....yet.

I remember them saying it was just an alternate start rather than a Recruit Event back when they first announced it, and I'd have expected them to advertise it along with today's launch date confirmation if they were. Find out soon enough anyway.
I originally thought this would release on October 2nd with an alternate date of October 16th as the 9th would be the day after the US Holiday 'Indigenous Peoples Day' formerly known as 'Columbus Day'. I switched to the 16th also because the Infinity Lockbox 'Event' runs from September 27th for two weeks, or October 11th. That would put the Infinity running three days into AoD.
That would either mean no new Lockbox releasing with AoD, or they meant two weeks generically, ending on the 9th, or the new Lockbox will be delayed somewhat.
I'm sure that they would like to get more life out of that Infinity as it will now contain Discovery era ships, hyping that up.
Well I was wrong, they picked the one Tuesday in early October that I have wouldn't have guessed.

My only concern is the changes alongside random STF make it harder for me to get into missions. I have gone from aprox 90% success rate to under 20% due to random STF.
So far the devs have not responded to any of the problems related to random STF. Will you be taking the feedback on board and change it before the 2 weeks is up? I am really worried as the current system on tribble is pretty much unplayable for me.
Just got confirmation that we are giving out an extra character slot.
Yes! Thank you! This is much needed and appreciated!
Now that I have 2/3 of the info I've been looking for, will there be a Recruitment event in/near the launch period? This is important to know because it directly impacts how much schedule-juggling we, the players, have to do to get things done.
Thank you!

Also needed a T6 Science Cruiser, that can wear any Science or Cruiser skin.
....You’ll be able to bring your reputations to a new tier, compete in random Task Force Operations, and experience the beginnings of a brand new story that will have ramifications for all of Star Trek Online...
Looks like a tiny PATCH rather than a major update. I guess better than nothing.
I agree a Recruitment re-run, perhaps even for ALL recruits, including LoR might be a good way to generate more excitement for the launch. As it stands, Discovery has a ?colourful" reputation amongst Trek fans at large, so a little extra fomr the STO devs might help a lot. That and maybe even a Dil/Lobi/Rep weekend or two, so people can "cash up" before hand. (pushing my luck, but what about a Phoenix run as well?)
It's also going to be interesting seeing how they integrate Discovery into the STO story. They did a pretty good job with JJTrek, Although I was a little disappointed that Jem-H toons only really got 1 "unique " starter mission.

Sure you can. Just get it from the C-Store.

Oh I know, but i meant for the AoD missions like they did for the Jem'Hadar

There's only like 2 missions, I doubt it.
Did they fix the crash-bug on Tribble?

Question ... Are you increasing the max number of slots you can have by 1 for this?
Asking as I'm already maxed and curious if I will have to delete one of my toons.
