Another piece of advice: let Q change the way you look. This might be placebo, but I found the course much easier flying it as a Fek'Ihri than running it.
Also don't spam the start counter when multiple players are there. If you are the first to spam it, you will start the race off the track, thus an instant disqualification, thus having to pick it up again.
Other than that: don't panic, you got infinite runs.
Not sure how this works since everything Q turns me into last 1 to 2 seconds.
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.
Well.. I thought I was ready for this after reading this thread and watching some videos. Looked easy. Yeah right. Failed the first couple times but finally managed to win it on the third try. NPCs seemed a bit faster than what I saw in the videos I watched.

I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

FINALLY won the race! It took my Counter-Command armor to do it...not sure what my two toons that don't have CC will do (if they still need to run it). It was still hard though.

The ship becomes an account unlock, so you only need to run it on one character.

Just as easy as the last 4 years. I don't bunny hop I just start running in the direction of the next turn before I reach the turn about 5 or 6 steps usually does it. It takes practice but you can win soo far ahead of the npc it's just silly.
Also sometimes (or quiet a lot) the NPCs don't spawn anyway so you can walk it.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

What you asked was how do you DETERMINE what Q turns you into, which you can't. You can, however, TELL what Q turns you into. It involves looking at the screen and discerning what your character looks like.

I am having trouble with the race this year. I had no problems in previous years so I'm not sure exactly why. I do have neurological deficits which makes it hard to coordinate sprinting, rolling etc. It was so easy for me before. Maybe my health is deteriorating but, I hope not. I have won once just barely out of about 20 tries. Previously used creatures Q turned me into to win, but even that does not work. I've been waiting for no opponent to appear, but so far no luck. I'm bummed. I can play the regular missions in STO well. I really don't want to use my Lobi but, if I want the ship I may have to consider it.
alfred, you could use your right hand on the arrows (with the shift key above it for sprinting) and hover your left fingers over the space bar for jumping... Just a thought...
For everyone else, one thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is that the cool-down timer for the event starts when you accept the mission, so you conceivably have 20 hours to actually win your run without it affecting your next day's run... so rest easy and relax!

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Hmm... Run the race in shooter mode, left hand on W and Shift, steer with the mouse. Instead of Space Bar to jump and stop (which would require thumb), roll by double taping Q or E. The hardest part, I think is getting your pinky down to the Shift Key. Maybe put something on the Shift Key so your cast can just hit it and hold it down?
Most importantly, perhaps, play that Benny Hill clip posted above.

You don't. Its totally random. Only way to get the one you want is to keep getting whammied by Q until you get the one you want.

uhhh...
... And how much of a cast? Any use of fingers?
My left thumb thats broke - I can kinda use the other 4 fingers but not very well. Cast comes up over the first joint of each
