I personally think this system does not work for all the players, if you have not spent thousands of dollars on this game you are screwed in Admiralty because only those who have tons of ships can advance in this system. Having your ships like in my case I have 8 going into 12 hours cool down after you do or fail a mission is freaking irrational, at this pace it will take me years to achieve the level 10.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" (Benjamin Franklin).
Most unexpectedly, this turned into a flame-fest! Closed it goes!. /sigh What flamefestery is this? pwlaughingtrendy
Admittedly I haven't thought this through, but... for those who do not have the capability or desire to get loads of ships, could it not be possible to develop a fleet consumable that acts like the temporary cards that come with some completed assignments?

I wouldn't be surprised if, in a couple months - maybe in February around the Anniversary - they come out with an 'Admiralty Booster Pack' for the C-Store or as part of the next Lock Box to do something along those lines...
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
Or maybe they want to "encourage" you to get all T6's. Me...I'm going to take the risk. Though if a good Anniversary ship comes up, I will probably grind for that, since I tend to do well with the Anniversary events (I actually got pretty darned good with the Guitar Hero game ).

Just for your information, I never spent a penny on STO. I still have dozens of ships.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
All my available ships are T6 or T5, I have no lower level ships in my Admiralty Que?
Of course that's all I have in my available ship list having dismissed all the lower level ships as I advanced in rank.
Am I supposed to reclaim them to get their cards?
Yes, you are supposed to claim any ship you want a ship card of. That can obviously be a very long process for some players.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Does the Admiralty system sometimes add a ship to your available roster? I just noticed a Hazari Destroyer on my Admiralty System Ship Roster.
I'm going to guess it's a 1x ship? If so, yes. Look at the listed rewards, some will have funny looking white icons. Oh and I would like to see what the card looks like.

Yes, that Hazari destroyer was a reward for one of your assignements. You'll notice it has no maintenance time and has "1x" before its name. It is only usable once after which it will disappear again.

(Well, technically, I think there is a limit. But it's probably some crazy number like 9,999. Good luck reaching that.)
Challenge accepted!
Can't wait for this Admiralty System!

I agree with you Beraht I think the VAST majority will love the expanded rewards offered by the Admiralty system. Like in LIFE we all have things that require our direct attention, and other things that require us to deligate to more capable specialists, if we HOPE for our vision to one day be realized. No one individual can be successful by themselves, but successful people requires a vision others can believe in.
I love the PRIME UNIVERSE of Star Trek developed by CBS and hope CBS someday they will continue to publish TV seasons based upon it. At the same time while I was a little skeptical of JJ ABRAMS version in the start with an Alternate Universe -- I quickly came around by the end of the movie and where he's taken that franchise -- perhaps the sour taste came from Vulcan suffering the fate it did, yet perhaps time travel may one day correct? A different universe requires a different movie with time travel, perhaps where they don't require to save earth but Vulcan instead! Regardless I was profoundly INSPIRED to see JJ ABRAMS comments (I believe recently) that the Alternate Universe now lead by another producer in future will be moving to instill similar values RODDENBERRY envisioned for trek -- regardless what Universe it's in.
CRYPTIC could easily EXTEND almost all of the work they've done with STO (Prime Universe) to a 2nd (Alternate Universe) game; where rewards, events, and content is released at different timelines, different powers, and features offered in each reality. Thereby allowing players to experience both rathan than pick & choose... and hopefully allow them revenue to continue (rehire staff or expand - let go earlier in the year) while also bringing us more of what we love in a fresh new way!
I'm like JOBS in that respect | he HIRED often when profits were down | innovation drive the future.
the admiralty system is nothing to me the maintenance is to long so this may go as dead as the old r&d system unless they reduce the maintenance
If the maintenance were much shorter, I'd probably have maxed all tiers in Fed and possibly even Klink by now. I accept it is much more of a problem if you only have a handful of ships, but if you've been here a long time and have a large amount of toons that you have experimented on with different ships (where you can borrow the previous obtained zen ships for free on other toons), the maintenance cooldown shouldn't slow you down too much.
I probably get through about ten to a dozen missions a day on average. I'm waiting for my last Fed tour of duty... and I'm in a high tier of the Fed school.
I'm halfway up the Klink ladder.
TBH I'm wondering how they are going to keep those of us who reach tier 10 in a short amount of time, engaged in the admiralty system. Without additional awards it might just become a quick way of obtaining specialization points.
This system is awesome, but they should get the lead out and add the Dry Docking system so people can make the most of it.
I agree! Although it's not going to please everyone (I don't even know if that is possible in the world we live in?) it is a good addition to the game and I'm glad they added it.
I am having a lot of fun figuring out the synergies between ships I send out on those "tricky" missions.
Tour of Duty tried to assimilate me!(420? you really know how to make us sweat!)
A nice ship combo rescued the day!(Only 8 percent chance to fail.. I'll take those odds!)
Combat drills with a temopral vortex simulation?(A 100% maintenance cooldown? Heck I'll send a good ship for this!)
This ship should do the trick!(With a high chance to crit as well, I think I'm getting the hang of this admiral thing!)

So much this. I'm holding off doing admiralty on my "Ship collector" character. She has the most ships of all my characters and no room in her ship slots (no I'm not buying more! lol)
I don't want to decommission any of them if I can help it so the dry dock feature will help greatly.

You can still run Admiralty missions with the ships you already have on that character, though.
In any case, barring unexpected gamebreaking bugs, dry docking will arrive this Thursday, along with the winter buyback store and stuff.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
I just had a gander at the STO wiki on the topic... apparently it's Rhode Island and Hegh for Fed and Klink schools. I'm guessing the other named ships will come up for other events/tiers/schools in the system later on.
Shame because I really wanted to boss Shon around. Captain Kim is alright, he at least treats you with a degree of deference in Delta Rising. Shon doesn't care if you are the Prime Lord High Admiral of the Galactic Fellowship of Interstellar Alliances... he still talks to you like you're his boot boy.

Thanks. I'll need to keep an eye out for those types of missions.
So x1 means one use. I wonder if there are any 2x or morex ships that we can acquire?

No, but you can get several copies of the same ship. (Hypothetically speaking.)

Even practically. If I remember, I'll post a screenshot of two 'one use' Mat'Has I've got on one char (along with the normal mat'Ha).

And thus is a nice advert encouraging you to possibly bag yourself the ship so you can use its card more regularly.

Hit the penultimate tier in the Fed last night, anybody know what the epic thing I'm supposed to get at the end of it is?
