You might want to include channel invites as well, as I remember olivia reporting getting spammed with those as well. I don't know if the OP was getting spammed with that too, but it might be a good idea to look into it.

    tl;dr

If you want to block fleet invites, open the Social Menu (O), click the Privacy button, and set yourself anonymous, visible to friends, or just block fleet invites.

Invites to others' fleet maps is another matter, and I've filed a bug so that you can disable those as well.

Fleet maps and bridge maps also. And been anonymous does not help, you just write the name of the person on the invite tab.

Engineers have located the problem and are currently working to fix the problem. If you ignore someone, they should be fully ignored - including fleet and bridge invites.

Our appologies for any frustration and inconvienence.

Glad to see the privacy options are being looked at.

There's a semi-related request I have: if you PM someone who is ignoring you, you get a message that "So and so is ignoring you." However, if you message someone who has blocked PMs from non-friends and non-fleet, you get the same "So and so is ignoring you" message, even though they aren't, exactly. Would it be possible to change that second message to something a little more specific?

On that note, if you have someone on ignore, you should not be able to send them any messages. Right now it's pretty easy for someone to place someone on ignore and then send them a bunch of harrassment tells which they can't reply to. And some ignorers are sending out messages trying to get help from people they don't realise can't reply to them due to being ignored. Just having a pop up with 'You can't message so and so as you have them ignored.' would be nice.

But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.

I'm not. I'm just saying thank you for the communication, considering the lack of communication we got a while ago.

ah excellent, the problem has been located for their trolling abilities. That's one less.

The other problem can be avoided by not doing public queues.

So also they should be ignored at queue team matching. If I ignore someone for deliberately failing mission I don't want to be pair with him/her again.

Isn't that pretty much what we were already sentenced to with all the DR 'improvements'? :P

That sounds like a fine idea, Grimrak. I couldn't tell you how many times someone has PM'd me with a question, but been unable to receive the reply. What costume is that? What ship is that? But my reply has been met with "X is ignoring you," when in reality they've got all PM's blocked from people who aren't their friends.

I'd hate to think those people believe I'm an antisocial bad guy who didn't want to answer. Obviously, if folks aren't thinking through the implications of those settings, an error message whenever you try to contact someone via a means which they can't respond by is the answer. And a more descriptive error message than the ones we have.

CaptainGeko, this may seem like a minor problem, but if your engineers are working on the guts of the privacy system, now might be a good time to address it.

I should have put that one in the original. It'd be really helpful to have, the number of times I get tells asking for a fleet ship and then it turns out I can't reply to them due to being ignored/not on their friendslist is super annoying.

Yeah, doesn't happen too often but it is a pain when you're trying to help them, they don't see it and just get more and more annoyed that no-one is helping them out.

Yeah, I'm not even gonna quote you saying it.

WTF dude, even if you are in some way basing it off the word "niggard" instead of what it looks like, srsly?

My guess is "hope" keeps people not playing but posting on the forums. For others, its a path of sad realization and closure. Grieving takes time. The worst "haters" here love the game, or did at some point.

I'd have reported it quicker, however PWE's site doesn't seem to play well with my anti-malware and adblocker software, so I have to jump thru hoops to actually use the report functionality.

It's actually kind of funny that McAfee blocks perfectworld.com on a regular, if infrequent, basis.

No, that's just a guy. You can go into the profile and see that it's attached to an account with over a hundred days of gameplay. Or in other words, it's not a throwaway.
