It's a bit revealing actually. Helps some realize there are some who think they should enjoy the game as designers intended, and those who enjoys things to be disruptive by abusing things like chat channels and invite systems.
I suggested it be closed, so have others. I am guessing it still serves a purpose you or I are not involved in. If the glitch remains, the thread will probably stay open. Since a dev posted a long time ago the problem was fixed but people are still saying it's not, then I'm guessing it's staying open, or maybe move it to the tech support heading.

This is chiefly an in-game rules enforcement issue, or more accurately an issue with an abject absence of in-game rules enforcement. This isn't going to stop until the GMs get off their butts and do their jobs, that being banning the frakker's accounts as rapidly as they can be identified. And we will continue to keep this issue current until somebody upstairs leans on the GMs and that becomes reality.

I think it was more directed at me since I made the mistake of violating the naming and shaming policy regarding the NoP channels and specifically fleets within them which I won't repeat. Far as I have read in the policies a chat channel is not subject to a group which may or may not enjoy trolling by using game sytems to spam invites. Again, my apologies.
There are people on forums who deal with community issues and are employed by PWE/Cryptic and they do their best, but are any actually in the game and active? It would be news to me if this was true. I've seen people troll active employees of cryptic while they were hosting events or new content openings, and still remain in game to cause future situations.
Maybe the problem indicated in this thread will help advocate the need for such admins? Time will tell. Would I go lifetime account if they hired at least 1 person? Hell yes.

If the troll is getting names of people from a public channel then why not make it private for now to protect who is already there and then once it is sorted out put it back to public.
You will still be able to invite those who need in.

I remember that incident described too... I seem to recall 2 players arguing in a channel and refusing to stop when repeatedly told. Instead, they attacked and started badmouthing the channel and me. Sound like a set-up troll? Maybe. Regardless, I had both you and he kicked and I doubt any active channel administrator would do otherwise upon witnessing the same.
The fact is, in good faith I tend to give multiple opportunities to individuals to behave themselves. Perhaps wishing people would put the best of themselves forward makes them think they can abuse the kindness but beware... there are teeth on the other side of a smile.

I don't remember if I reported it at the time, because I was trying to calm the bully down and get it to remember its dignity, and that all men are brothers.

In the case of the player of the above post, I did once tell him the comment he shows. Him and no other. But he carefully chooses to avoid showing the context and part I was playing in the conversation as well as mentioning the many weeks and months he has been involved in vicious group flaming; sexual and suicidal comments towards my in-game characters, my friends, my fleet and my channel.
I will not comment further for now as this is part of the massive investigation currently ongoing. The fact is many here are involved in more than it appears. This guy who posts above doesn't even realize the extent I and others know and have documented. Just bear in mind the events visible now in this thread including the one described above are only in the open because a hardy band of people few will ever know endured throughout this year to succeed in exposing dangerous practices. One day when this is over, it will be my honor to tell their story.
It never was my intention to bring harm to this individual, but if he understands what cyberbullying feels like now, then I was successful in the aim of the conversation. As always, if you're harassed by anyone in game feel free to report them and the CS team will investigate the matter. It may not result in what you think it should, but they do investigate it.
