Well that's strange, because I don't really care all that much about the "griefer." Spamming bridge invites isn't a "mess," it's a mild annoyance. The players created this mess by blowing it out of proportion, much like they do with snowballs, disco balls, party poppers, and everything else that might come off as mildly annoying. Olivia does have fault here by trying to turn this into an "issue." If you all would have just ignored the guy, it would have probably wound down by now. I'm sure he is aware of this thread, and these posts are simply strengthening his resolve.

Doesn't change the fact that, well, the naming and shaming, the posting of his @name in this thread is also a TOS violation, but I guess it's not a big deal if WE violate the TOS; we just don't want others to do so as well.

    Hmmmm.

And thus the dental vulture shows its true nature!

All pulling comments out of context aside, claiming Olivia is at fault for turning this into an "issue" isn't correct. Aside from all the melodramatic comparisons to various gates, cyberstalkers and god knows what anyway. Thing is though, by claiming someone is blowing a perceived grievance out of proportions, you are in essence attacking their opinion regarding the matter. That your opinion regarding the severity of the grievance is different from Olivia's, doesn't change the fact Olivia, or anyone else for that matter, is and should be allowed to feel that way.

Wether or not Olivia is a dramaqueen is besides the issue, it is not your job to weigh the validity or severity of perceived grievances, that is the job of Cryptic/PWE customer support. Since you pointed out several times you have no stake in this discussion, nor are involved in any way, why don't we both just walk away from this thread so that those whose job it actually is to determine wether a complaint is valid or not can do just that?

    Welcome to the blatantly obvious.

So you either don't realize that this entire thing is a dental nerd of prey gimmick to be chuckled about on reddit channels, or you are part of it.

Either way it's sad, and not even original. The only thing missing here is a certain person owning up to it, but it's no secret that a certain someone here in this thread (who won't be named since the @name is such a nasty terrible violation) knows more than they let on to, and enjoys the dramatics.

I'm not. It was sarcasm. This thread should have sunk to the bottom of the toilet bowl a long time ago.

    Hmmmm.

This coming from someone whom everyone knows to not be a "griefer" implying he did not contribute to the "mess" or current "issue" in this topic and is not one of the "players" while saying so using "quotation marks". Then again it might be fueling your resolve as well.

some might agree with that, but then there is this https://www.flickr.com/photos/129075086@N02/15765839527/

I'm inclined to agree with you. Had you said this while using a career account, I might have had reason to doubt it.

Nobody needs to bump a thread in which you triple post within 5m.

I don't totally follow this, so ppl were roleplaying and you trolled them? lol

I think maybe I was wondering if the erotic roleplay was private or on a bridge and not in public, because public is way more funny but taking it to a private place is very creepypasta

They were having a little erotic roleplaying at starfleet command...

yeah I'd rather them do that on Dronoza, which fits it, or... their own private places... which reminds me, must make a request for a bedroom to be added to the ship.

I can't remember, is this where we get you a warning to 'disprove' our influence or where we avoid getting you one so we can sit here all smug about our forum immunity?

Does anyone even remember what this thread was actually about from the OPs question? Did he get an answer?

It seems to have gone completely off topic and I really am not reading through a ton of back and forth sniping tripe to see if it was answered.

He got an answer "We are investigating"

but since the troll is still trolling, nothing has actually be done. This thread is being kept alive to remind the GMs of their abyssal failure while discussing the motives of said troll and the faults of the person who attracted the troll.

    ....

Really, when you ignore somebody, they shouldn't be able to send you any sort of invite. We should also have more options, like 'allow challenges from'; then three options; 'Friends Only', 'Friends and Fleet Mates only', 'Anyone'...

Agree, if I set someone to IGNORE, they should not exists in my gaming experience.
Ignore would prevent ANY messages, invites, challenges, trades, and team, or any interaction with them.
I'd even say prevent them from being in the same PUG as me, and instance too.

Go one step further and have the game remove their avatar from my screen, so they can't just come up to me in space or ground and harass me (you all know what I mean..)

Can't do the removal of the avatar from your screen, it wont work. Beside, why bother with going that far?

Their names could be removed from their avatar though, from your perspective.

How absolutely terrifying this ordeal must be for you all, never knowing when suddenly, without warning a horrifying popup window appears out of thin air!

I think I need to go lie down.

Wow the last time I checked this thread it was a legitimate thing about wanting to block invites, now it's this big ugly cesspool of bloated egos and grudges and TRIBBLE. So I decided to read the whole thing to see where it went sour when i came across this beautiful gem of a comment. We need more ppl like this in the world.

And you are helping how, exactly?

OP has legitimate concerns, and all you can do is pop popcorn instead of offer some real suggestions to the Devs or to the OP.

OP: Try /anon and see if that works.

    tl;dr

If you want to block fleet invites, open the Social Menu (O), click the Privacy button, and set yourself anonymous, visible to friends, or just block fleet invites.

Invites to others' fleet maps is another matter, and I've filed a bug so that you can disable those as well.
