    contact this guy in space pvp enginer he will give you a challenge :P.. he is the best pvp and gets first place in advanced

    He has awesome taste in music.

    Anyway...

    Engineers are new player friendly, but takes a veteran to master because the abilities are not direct damage. They help power levels which do things like make sheilds more resistant and guns hit a maximum for longer. But nothng direct.

    problem with people like you is you judge players bye class instead of bye skill which your so wrong :)

    look at his ship stop being dence... go fight him and try him for your self

    Pardon me, but did I put down engineers because I don't recall doing so? Or are you reading something in a font I didn't use? Perhaps you should actually read my post instead of knee jerk?

    Given my main toon is a Fed engineer, who out does tacs in ISA and CEA.

    I didn't really want to read 25 pages worth of comments.

    What I can say is this: Engi captains specialize in energy management. So while you cannot out-dps a Tac captain in an escort, you can come reasonably close with abilities like EPS Power Transfer and Nadion Inversion. In fact, EPS is so so beautiful as an ability that it can be used to crank up shields and aux too, essentially meaning that for 30 seconds, you're pretty damn good at everything, assuming you have Starship Electro-Plasma System at at least 6/9. You do, don't you?

    A full broadside of 7 or 8 beam arrays while your weapon energy refuses to drop below 100 is a wonderful thing. I know other captains can do this to an extent, but no one does it better than an engi. No one.

    So yeah, you're an Engi ... enjoy your 30 seconds of hard hitting weapons, swiftly regening shields, sudden boost in speed, and high aux Gravity Well or Tyken's Rift. And then while Aux is high, after you used your science abilities, then pop an Aux 2 Batt for even more damage and shields and engines.

    ... suddenly I miss playing my Engi.

    -Engineer, my main character and most beloved class-

    Space: Tank.. ever heard of it? Soak up massive damage while dealing some back (I do 12k DPS) Draw aggro, let the escorts do their work and the sci keep them alive...

    Ground: HOLY S*%T OP, bring your best tac officer, Ill slaughter it PVP and I dont even care for PVP, and engineer built with 3 correct DOffs and a ton of turrets and drones will spam any and all opposition out of existence period end of story, challenge me if you have doubts..

    Tac = glass cannon
    Sci = white mage

    Eng = solo play and useful mid/carry/tank

    I noticed that OP stopped posting about halfway through once he realized that most of the community doesn't agree with him. I'll just drop in my 2 ECs here:

    Engi-cruisers are anything but useless. I have a Tac Oddy-U that can keep aggro off of even a scimitar, tank damage all day long and absolutely REFUSE to die (except against elite borg, those guys just HURT), and still pump out min 10k DPS (was parsed at 12k recently, so I was rather happy about that). And that's without using Aux2Bat build. Just a regular EPtX build with Rommie BAs and threat gen consoles. And Attract Fire. And Vulnerability Locators. And... Ok yeah, the thing is decked out pretty well XD.

    Let me put it to you this way: If there's something that can insta-nuke most ships in PvE, you put an engi-cruiser in front of it with full aggro set. Suddenly, you will have free reign to slap it around. The way I have my ship set up, I can keep aggro off of any ship that does less than 60k DPS. Because 60k is 600% of my average DPS, and I have 600% threat gen.

    Another example of how awesome engi-cruisers can be: One of my friends from the OPvP channel decided to go into an ISA with some of the PESTF channel peeps and myself. We went in, I flew in like an idiot and started tanking. End of the round I had damage dealt sitting at ~11k DPS, and damage taken at over a million damage taken and healed. Let me see your tac do THAT son. The next closest damage taken and healed was less than 50k. There was even a fleet T'varo that had taken less than 10k damage in total. He didn't even need to heal at all that round and he would have survived.

    So please. Don't tell me Engi captains are useless. They are masters of survival. And they excel (at least now anyways) at keeping their allies alive in PvE, and are borderline impossible to kill (if they're good) in PvP.

    I really hate saying this, and I hate when people say it, but OP, L2P.
    It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)
