Ok, cool. Now everyone should be happy. Those of us who like the party amps are not inconvenienced and the people who dislike them have an opt out.

I don't see why the anti-amp people are still up in arms. Hoping that this causes some kind of suffering for anyone, and wanting tears...lol. That's just sad.

Keep waiting guys....disco hasn't gone anywhere and is still alive and well. You just don't have to participate.

Though I am wondering what kind of awesome new bugs we can expect with this.

I would like, at some point, to have a non-consumable version of the party amp.

That would make sense. And it's fair. Balance and all that.
    It's already balanced:
The party amp affects many characters and is temporary/consumable.
The nullifier affects only one character and is permanent/non-consumable.

A balanced consumable nullifier would affect all nearby characters or simply destroy the nearest party amp.

Ok, 'up in arms' may have been the wrong description from the vibe I got from the anti-amp crowd. Rereading the the various posts, it's more like 'extremely petty'. Is that better?

Why can't people just be happy about this? Why does it have to be a "I win, you lose, so go to your corner and cry" situation?

    Nothing is lost by anyone.

    Doesn't everyone win with this?

    Permaparty amps is fantastic. :D

Just as long as the ones that opt out don't get the emergency power to party buff.

If you're not doing the thing that gives it you shouldn't get it.

I would prefer a nullifier that would destroy the disco ball and ban its user from the game for 24 hours, but this will do instead I suppose.

Nah, i just figure if you want the buff you should do the thing that grants it.

Otherwise devs might as well give everyone cruiser commands, or singularity powers, or doff assignment buffs on command.

Next thing you know there is forum demands to allow AFKing again.

Because that's the way the world is today, unfortunately.

I shake my head every time I encounter it, too.

I never said you were happy, extremely or otherwise.

Using your example, would you run up to someone dancing and having fun in real life who has previously invited you to join them, and announce to them that they cannot make you dance or have fun anymore and then mock them by asking them if they are going to cry now?

The mechanic to save you is in the pipe....why be antagonistic about it?

It's not a win/lose situation. We can still use the party amps, and you are safe from them.

Nobody was maimed by a party amp despite claims to the contrary. ;)

Oh your dancin baby. We all are. We're just puppets on a string dancing to the beat of the universe. The worlds got us spinning and we don't even know it.

Earth spins you right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
    Right round round round

Earth spins you right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
    Right round round round

So the next time you think you aren't dancing...

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,

That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day

In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.

It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.

We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,

And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz

As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,

And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

    :P

    Winner. :D

I will actually enjoy using the disco's myself more because I happen to prefer choosing my own animations after placing it. Am I the only one who'd use them even more now because of this?

Hmm...That's an interesting idea. That would enable my gorn to use the advanced samba and fan dance with the party amp.

Exactly, and in my case, nerve tonic in combo with it, once the bottles get fixed next patch hopefully. before it was impossible to use it with it, and if you didn't someone else could make your bottle wasted.

IMO I'll shell out big bucks for anything that will shut down those stupid squeals, whistles, pops, hoots, and chest slapping monkeys, and dabo girls I am forced to listen to every time I'm at an exchange terminal.

Just for the sake of sanity put an exchange terminal in our Fleet sprawl somewhere at tier 1 PLEASE!

Fleet holdings already have exchange, bank, and other services available already. You just need to advance your fleet holdings to level 3 I think.

If your fleet doesn't have them you could always ask for an invitation to another fleet's holdings through one of the chat channels dedicated for that purpose.

I do agree that the monkeys are annoying, but they don't break anything for me. I just tune them out.

A ferengi told me that the dabo girl isn't as loud or annoying if you are at the table playing and ordering drinks. ;)

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

btw, apologies to you Stoutes, if I came off a bit harsh on you last night. I'm one of those "Don't care if it's used on me, but I object to other people being compellled against their will" sorts.
No harm done :D. Kudo's for properly apologising, it's easier to call other one's mistakes/problems then your own. Thank you.

@Nabreeki; Thank you once again for your nice words.

Wait? The discoball makes noises too?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

oh for real, after all, we all know all forms of smiles are a prelude to war, any form of happiness is and will forever be at the expense of everyone else, and all bright lights are, like oceanic life, the symbol of aggression and are a clear assault at another person, also coming, a Black and white screen amplifier, subspace sadness amplifier, and tribble, confetti, and balloon inhaler, and most importantly, Babel Mode! where every text can be misconceived as an insulting gesture! also the new online counselor stations now available at Romulan Command, Earth Space Dock, and Klingon First City, (compliments of the Lobi Crystal Consortium) :D

As a matter of fact when I'm at ESD or K7 or any other popular exchange/bank location I DO turn my volume down. Nothing grates my ears worse than party screamers and fire extinguishers being triggered constantly.

I should not have to do this, however. The twits should not have the freedom to intrude upon my game play with their blithering idiocy - which is why they do it; because they can, and they know just exactly how annoying it is. As the poster above stated - I should not need a silencer in my inventory; I should need an activator to participate.

    Funny story -
I had a Swedish exchange student in my house once, long ago. My parents had this stupid rooster magnet on the refrigerator that he would smack constantly just to drive me bugnuts.

My parents sent it, and a couple of other annoying noisemakers, home with him. Little did he know that his grandmother adored them!. Within weeks he was just as annoyed by them as I was...

We all have to adapt sometimes. There are things I dont like, getting worked up is useless. Just adapt and get happy.

I prefer the dev's to work on bugs instead of things they need weeks for, where people could fix it for yourself in seconds (mute button). And let us not forget that one fix create at least 3 new bugs :D.
