assuming they didn't have to use any purifiers on it...thalaron tends to...linger

but they generally only use those on especially resistant colonies, where the price in troops and armor trying to take a planet would far outweigh the price of using one of those

    It had a Stargate.

    Hold on a minute...

How quickly do you think they'll figure out how to use a Gate?

Seeming as they are more military than scientific, and have a superiority complex, I would assume that they assume that the Gate isn't anything special and just move on. Mkve the armies quickly!

well, in that other reality where the goa'uld were all but wiped out by the tau'ri...the same one your sovereign originally came from...it only took humans who had no damn clue what the hell they were doing about 70 years to get it working - and most of that was because the 'geniuses' in charge had no idea the glyphs on the gate ring were constellations

once their daniel jackson figured that out, it took them seconds

    RIGHT!

Hold on, can't they just bomb it from orbit?

This requires a combined arms assault! I need Death Gliders, I need Ha'taks, and I need several Al'kash! We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds! We shall fight in the fields and in the streets! We shall fight in the hills! We shall never surrender!

not quite the same tech...remember those 'purifiers'* i gifted to the sovereign a while back?

i kind of...'liberated' some from the terrans - they're quantum torpedoes fitted with a thalaron pulse generator...think neutron bomb, only far, FAR nastier

last i checked, the federation doesn't use thalaron weaponry - nor do they have transdimensional jump drives, for that matter

(*all credit for this weapon goes to whomever came up with them for their use in Sins of the Fathers 2,Suffer the children
