I think the shuttle bay could use an NPC or two standing at the consoles down on the main floor or a couple security guards standing attention behind the nearest Yellowstone if you've got enough time to squeeze that in.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
That's every area. Well, except Quinn's office now, I guess. (Clearly a fun-hating Undine infiltrator, the real Quinn loved dancing, and would never threaten to put someone in an airlock. :P )
They turned ESD into a Space Mall! Where is Judy Jetson?
Well isn't basically what you used ESD for in the past? Besides Promotions & a handful of beginner missions, there isn't really anything else to do there besides buy stuff.

Oooh what about some NPCs in EVA suits? We haven't seen that yet!
I'm probably going to get shoved down the Corpse Chute for suggesting this, but oh well.
For Club 47, since we aren't getting it until after S9. Does it really have to be a Disco Tech? I kinda like the quiet cafe-ish club feel we have now (I definitely think it should be expanded). But what if we had a the club more like Ten-Forward. The Disco Tech is nice, but isn't really that 'Trek' and Always felt odd being there on ESD. We have a handful of dance floors, even one in that sector (Risa).
To make my suggestion a little more appealing to the masses, what about getting the rights to use Whoopi's likeness, and actually have Guinan there in the club? I know she wanted to be part of Star Trek back in TNG, she might still want to have a part of it. And we don't really know what happened to her after the -D crashed. and owning the bar on ESD wouldn't be that far of a stretch for her to make.

My plan for the club was to have it be split. Half would be chill/loungy. The other would be dancefloor/club. The bar would be between the two. We've got a very rough whitebox built, but it needs a ton more work, and may change some before it goes out.
You know what would be really cool Taco, a behind the scenes dev blog where you take just one room from new ESD and talk about how it is made from start to finish with screenshots showing the various iterations.

Will the DJ finally learn more then one song? If all they play is that same tune indefinitely then you can make it the most stunning place ever and I will still visit it as often as your rough white box.

The entrance is in the two-story circular room that's just off the transporter pad. You'll see a closed door there now halfway up the circular ramp. The DJ is currently hanging around there.

The club lobby is the room with the spiral ramp and the palm trees. The club will be behind the door part way up the ramp.
We have no plans for readding the stateroom at the moment. We'll have to talk about that. Others have suggested moving it to SFA, which sounds fine to me, but we'd still need time to build it.

The Foundry Roundtable podcast toured ESD on Wednesday and talked about each section of the new map, including feedback on the map itself and the potential for it in the Foundry.
I'm not going to miss the stateroom, I always thought that layout would have made more sense as some kind of officers briefing and rather than a guy at a podium there's a big map and someone conducting the briefing. I like the idea of the club being a bit removed from the actual station rather than right in the line of traffic, it seems a bit more dignified that way, for lack of a better description.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

Please when you build that part make it have more music then some boring annoying techno have it actually change from time to time that music is getting OLD and annoying one reason I hated going to ESD because you could hear it from alot of places not just the club. but yes have more music.
I've thought the same thing, but if it's in geosynchronous orbit, the bulk of it would continue to rotate with the Earth.
Erm... we're talking about if ESD is falling. That is, if something pushes it (or pieces of it) toward Earth (like a giant explosion). And if it's falling, it's no longer in geosynchronous orbit. Sure, until it gets into the atmospheric interface, it may stay "over" the same location, but as soon as the atmosphere starts building up, it's going to add a lot of friction and resistance, pushing it westward as it continues its descent. to the surface.
The bigger question is, "how far westward" and that would probably have more to do with the mass and shape of the station or station pieces falling. If ESD is stationed over the Atlantic Ocean, I'd predict that the lighter pieces would fall across the middle of North America while the heavier chunks would wipe out the East Coast.

*maybe to head this off, you could label the door with a standard sign for the club. the door is simply closed and dogged. that way people can at least have that question answered for the,
*second, for continuity, you might consider switching the door to the larger size seen on either end of the upp walkway since I am sure it will be a large opening for the club once its opened up.

*what about one of the LaGrange points? they are natural stable points in earth space that would go a long way towards keeping the station in place. would make sense for such a massive station to get all the help with the station keeping that you can.
*as for transporter range, wouldn't it be larger since the station would only really be doing pad-to-pad transporting? that could be why it was such an attractive option to dock ships.
I hope that the new club area will have a giant window with a view of either space or the internal drydock depending on where it is located within the station's hull.
p.s. Stateroom! You know.. later.. *he says sheepishly*
Also I've noticed that the invisible collision meshes on new ESD still allow my character shadow to be cast on them. It's kinda weird to have a shadow on an invisible wall in front of you when you're overlooking the shuttle bay.

Peter built that area, I think he grabbed any guns that were marked "Fed"
Why are those guns marked Fed? Shouldn't they be United Earth?
That's what I was basing my original placement of Earth off of. Mine wasn't even that huge. But people said it was too big/close. So I pushed it out.
It looks better now. It still feels weird that the lights are on in America during the day and the lights are out in Europe though. The whole planet feels....a lot darker.
Perhaps throughout the year like with every seasonal update or something you can change the relative time of day, showing a different lighting of the planet.
I noted that the Med-Bay/Sickbay is now signed as Infirmary. Which I like much better. However, a second and incomplete version of this signage also appears above the doorway for the CMO's office as well.
It is technically a ground facility. I think I prefered sickbay though, more purely Starfleet.
Also, the Bussard collector of the Vesta-class docked inside is no longer illuminated. It's all grey.
Perhaps she's in external power mode or shut down for maintenance, she is in Spacedock.
*what about one of the LaGrange points? they are natural stable points in earth space that would go a long way towards keeping the station in place. would make sense for such a massive station to get all the help with the station keeping that you can.
Only the L1 and L2 are anywhere near Earth itself. In the United Earth pre-Federation days the NX Project maintained a space station at L5, so there may be other starbases there.
*as for transporter range, wouldn't it be larger since the station would only really be doing pad-to-pad transporting? that could be why it was such an attractive option to dock ships.
Standard maximum transporter range is 40,000 Kilometers or roughly 24,000 miles, Transwarp beaming aside. L1 and L2 are about 1.5 million kilometers from the Earth. There has never been an indication that pad to pad beaming increases the range. Furthermore if you have to evacuate Spacedock you're not gonna be able to beam to pads all the time.
It's attractive I would imagine because it is a highly protected port with all the available amenities and services for their ships and crews in one place.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"

The use of the word 'Infirmary' on a space station comes from DS9. Where the primary Medical center on the promenade was called the infirmary. This name change would have been something that Starfleet brought in when they took over control.
I suspect the bar will have a view of the moon. Notice the moon is placed at a location to accommodate this. At least that's what it looks like and what i'm hoping for.

I really doubt it, just because that entire interior of the station is to scale. Its about .75KM to get a glimpse of the moon.

And you would be correct except that ESD's position is not as it should be if we compare it from inside vs outside. It's off by about 45 degrees viewed from outside. If it was in the correct position then yes you would be correct.
The best approach would be that the door to the bar is actually a tube up to an observatory/bar with a wide view and or 360 degree view. Although there would be quite a few things in the way. But who's to say what they'll do.

And Taco has said the plan isn't for that. Its going to be three rooms in a line past that - a small relaxation chamber, the bar and then the dance floor.
Oh and actually ESD's position isn't off by 45 degrees. It's just not scaled the same inside vs outside. Hm wonder if they could fix that and turn it counterclockwise 45 degrees. It's just a little odd earth is so small when viewed inside ESD and huge when viewed outside. The latter being closer to the correct view i believe. Meh not that it matters to much. It's close enough and looks great.

infirmary would be more accurate. sickbay for a base like ESD would be massive i think. this would be a small infirmary or clinic. couple of beds, and a small operating theater.
considering the size, you wouldn't want to wait to transport critical personnel to central facility, and in an emergency, its a triage point sorting personnel as people are moved towards sickbay or down to earth.
it could also be a holdover as well. ESD dates back pretty far in trek, and it probably predates easy internal site to site beaming by quite a bit.
In regards to the stateroom, is there any point to it at all? I've gone there on multiple characters and did all of the promotion missions the NPC at the podium has but never once received anything for it. No expertise, no accolade for reaching level 50 and doing all the promotion missions, no nothing. It always seemed completely pointless to me to ever go into that room.
You could put the stateroom in starfleet academy. There are a couple buildings we can't access and I think you could open up 1 of them for it.
Whatever you decide, please make it worthwhile to go into that room. Maybe a little expertise at the very least for each promotion rank you do and/or an accolade for reaching level 50 and completing all promotion missions. Basically I want the stateroom to have an actual purpose, otherwise just leave it out of the game completely.
Also, the promotion missions never showed up in the available tab if I remember right, as well as never having a mission that would have me go to the stateroom. It's one of those things you don't know about unless you go exploring.

We have NPC's in EVA suits on Nukara Prime.
Oh, then it was either bugged on my end, or it is no-longer synced with its icon on the hologram.
Well, you guys (Cryptic) have never done Kitbashes before, you have always showed ships with consistent parts.
