I agree with your "best" selection, but why are Tuvok and Janeway that bad? Sometimes Janeway reminds me of a female Kirk. Tuvok was a good Vulcan.
I agree with the last one though. Who could have thought that the man who founded the Federation also robbed an innocent group of Illyrians of their warp coils!?! I know it was a desperate time, but really!

I think the worst character on Voyager ended up for me being Seska.

Agree with Tuvok, but you need to Google The Court Martial of Captain Janeway. She's a colossal hypocrite, she knowingly and with malice aforethought aided and abetted known enemies of the Federation (the entirety of "Scorpion" except the last five minutes), committed attempted murder of an unarmed prisoner (Captain Ransom), and is guilty of over half a dozen violations of both Prime Directives.

As far as I'm concerned, helping the Borg fight the Undine in particular was completely and utterly unforgivable.

Best: Janeway, Kira, Garak, The Doctor, Picard, Weyoun, Shran, "Trip" Tucker (he was just good eye candy), T'Pol, DS9 Worf (before then he was kind of annoying), Jadzia, Ezri

Worst: Travis Mayweather, Neelix, Wesley, Odo

Oh...completely forgot about Mayweather! For obvious reasons of course. He could've been replaced with a pile of sticks and no one would've noticed.

    Best: Picard, Data, Sisko.

Now, I don't dislike any character in the Star Trek franchise. That being said...

    Worst: DeSalle, Ralph Offenhouse, Duras.

Yes, I know I basically just took extras or recurring guest cast members, but you never said it had to be a member of the main cast.

I didn't absolutely hate Kes until her last appearance where for no particular reason she tried to kill everyone.

More due to the writers than Rene or the character itself, honestly. I felt like his storyline was too drawn out and overburdened with 'one step forward, two steps back'. It happened a decent amount on other shows too, but I think the person whose storyline was most horribly abused was Odo.

Best: Picard, Data, Sisko, anybody played by Jeffery Combs, Worf, Spock, the Doctor, Scotty, LaForge, KKKKKHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

Worst: Janeway (criminal incompetence), Neelix (jesus **** he's annoying), Kes (insanity), new Kirk (complete lack of acting skills), Into Darkness's love interest (blatant sexualization).

Most fun: Data, Real Kirk, Spock, Weyoun, Garak, Worf, the Doctor. Picard if he's in a bathrobe on Risa.

Least fun: Neelix, Mayweather, Kes, New Kirk (he's just plain boring), New Kirk's love interest.

One I most want to take orders from: Picard. He is a god among men.

One I least want to take orders from: Janeway (criminal incompetence) and New Kirk (abject, blatant stupidity).

One I most want to be: Worf. Maybe Original Kirk.

One I least want to be: Neelix. It must be hell to be Neelix.

Most attractive: Sulu, Picard, Jadzia Dax, the Borg Queen, 7 of 9. Original Kirk if you like the seat-of-his-pants action hero sort.

Least attractive: New Kirk, New Kirk's love interest, Neelix.

    Best villain: KKKKHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worst villain: Shinzon. Not his fault the writers sucked, though.

Most interesting: Odo, Weyoun, Spock, Data.

Least interesting: New Kirk and his lame love interest.

    That should do it.

    Edit to add:

Least screwed-over-by-the-writers: Khan Noonien f*cking Singh. He's just that awesome.

Most screwed-over-by-the-writers: Chakotay. Poor dude got shoved into a Majical Spirit TRIBBLE box from the get-go.

Least annoying: Picard, especially when he's doing his triumph-of-the-human-condition speeches. In fact, you can judge villain quality and life expectancy to whether or not they listen to and internalize the Picard Morality Speech.

Most annoying: NEELIX. Followed by most of the Voyager cast.

Most amusing: Quark. He could be the 24th century's Stephen Colbert. (think "The Quark Report! (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quark Enterprises, LTD)")

Least amusing: Neelix. Guy's a clown, and I hate clowns.

    Most competent leader: Picard.

Least competent leader: New Kirk (overpowering stupidity, horny frat-boy manners), then Janeway (due to writer incompetence, megalomania and irrational behavior).

I always thought the oil spill alien that kills Yarr was pretty stupid.

And not because it killed her, she annoyed the snit out of me most episodes. Just because it seemed so contrived.

Worst: Jadzia. Good GRIEF, Jadzia. I loathe her. And Janeway. Janeway was the worst aspect of Voyager, to be sure. Poor Harry. Eh, let's see. Archer would have been okay if he wasn't so sanctimonious throughout the first two seasons, but he was, so he ends up here, I think. Honestly, Picard was pretty sanctimonious too. And of course Neelix, because Neelix is the Jar Jar of Trek.

    Best and worst by series:

    TOS
    Best: Spock, Scotty.
Worst: Chekov, if only because he was used as a laughingstock way too often.

    TNG
    Best: Picard, Data, Worf.
Worst: Deanna Troi was annoying as hell for the first few seasons, but thankfully she got better. I also never liked Crusher that much-- in my opinion, Pulaski was the better doctor.

    DS9
Best: Jadzia Dax, Odo, O'Brien, Garak, Quark, Gul Dukat, Morn...almost all of the cast, really.
Worst: Kira Nerys had way too many annoying moments for me. Also, Gul Dukat was completely ruined near the end as well.

    Voyager
Best: Tuvok, the Doctor. Seven of Nine also had a lot of really great moments (especially in the episode where she had multiple personalities).
Worst: Chakotay-- as much I like the idea of a Native American bridge officer, they played the "magic Native American" trope way too often with Chakotay by having him spout mystic wisdom at every opportunity. The end result is that he turned into a walking stereotype rather than an actual character. Also, I found B'Elanna, Tom Paris and Harry Kim to be really insufferable.

    Enterprise
Best: I must confess, I've never watched Enterprise. That being said...Phlox, if only because of this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcL8Fw4KBoY

    Star Trek Reboot
    Best: Spock, Nyota Uhura, McCoy.
Worst: Chris Pine's Kirk. Someone throw him out the airlock, please.

Because she's a childish, annoying little thing. After three hundred years, no less. And she's never, ever called out on it. Let's just recap her relationship with Worf, shall we?

She decides to initiate a relationship with him.
After sleeping with him, she refuses to marry him despite Klingon tradition, which she should know full well because as she constantly name-drops, Curzon was a Klingon ambassador or some rubbish.
Later, she drags him to Risa in order to sort out the difficulties in their relationship caused by her being flighty and unreliable. When Worf attempts to actually sort out said difficulties, she starts whining. Strawman!Worf resorts to extreme methods, but quickly learns that standing up to Jadzia will earn him the ire of the writers.
When she finally agrees to marry him, she almost ditches him in a huff because she was actually expected to adhere to Klingon tradition when marrying a Klingon in a Klingon ceremony, and being a person who used to be a Klingon ambassador, as she constantly brings up.
    Jadzia finally dies. Good riddance.
Ezri shows up, flirts with Worf for a while, sleeps with him, insults him, and then ditches him for Julian.

So yeah. From the looks of things, Dax just wanted a pet Klingon to play with, but didn't want to have any strings attached and became furious/whiny if there were any expectations placed on her whatsoever.

Don't get me wrong: Worf isn't my favorite character. I mean, not that I dislike him; I'm just pretty neutral on him. But I hate it when characters do these kinds of things and are never called out on it. Especially if, as seems to be the case here, it's exclusively because they're a member of one gender.

Sisko called Jadzia out on it when she called off the wedding.

And, as she constantly makes clear, she is NOT Curzon OR Klingon.

As for Ezri... fairly certain Worf kissed her first... in fact, Ezri tried to hit him.

And I wouldn't call it flirting so much as arguing and calling Worf out on ignoring her.

Personally, i thought Jadzia's care-free nature was refreshing. She was still responsible MOST of the time (i.e. when her own happiness wasn't involved). And Ezri was a much more confused character, which, again, I liked. It was a story about her trying to find herself after having her life turned upside down. Remember, she wasn't prepared to be joined; the symbiont started dying en route back to Trill.

It's all in the writing for me. The only people who should EVER be able to get away with doing the stupidest possible thing in a crisis, are the comedy relief characters, and to be any good, they've got to...well...actually be funny.

Quark is actually funny-because he's not a clown, but a comedian, whereas Neelix is a depression-inducer in clownface.

    THIS. EXACTLY CORRECT.

Compare "The Magnificent Ferengi" to any and all Neelix episodes. TMF is better by FAR.

the Janeway problem is simple: for seven years on television, she constantly chose the least intelligent solution to every problem...and got away with it. not by being clever (Kirk) or Lucky (Kirk), not because it was really the smart thing to do (Sisko, Kirk, Picard, Spock...) and not because she was doing this stuff for the very first time ever (Archer), but because she had the "Main Character shielding" and it was Blatant.

Yup. Kirk did insane stuff, but he had the balls, the know-how, and the insight to find loopholes in the insanity and save the day. Also, he was a lucky SOB. Sisko, Picard, Spock, et cetera knew a rule that airplane pilots who know their physics learn very quickly: Sometimes, the counter-intuitive thing is the right thing to do.

I agree. To write a strong woman, take Picard and switch Dame Judi Dench for Sir Patrick Stewart. Easy.
