The word "ill" denotes you can be cured and as I firmly believe whatever is wrong with you can never be cured, therein, is one of the sources for the river of pity that flows from me to you.
I do not know enough about American politics to comment, but if you are on about what I think you are - then in the UK we would call him the Nick Clegg of these boards. (Nick Clegg being someone who takes random sides and spouts rubbish to look important)
That sound as if it is along the same lines ?
Let me put it this way. Listening to what the elected leaders of that group are saying about their opponents is reminiscent of a Monty Python sketch except they're serious.
LMAO
And I thought our lot here in the UK were bad, but Monty Python bad is a little worse
Well, if a Dyson Sphere is ever going to become real, looks like the "western world" leaders won't be involved in it - too busy picking each others pockets and bickering.
China, Russia, it's over to you... set course, engage warp and get that sphere built !
For some odd reason, Mods and Devs are ignoring this thread. I supposed if the little box of joyful insults is kept busy in this thread, he/she is leaving other threads alone maybe?
Finally! Its about time this thread degenerated into petty childish insults (On both/all sides), and so destined itself to be locked.
Well, it's difficult to hold an adult discussion when one of the participants a) was the first to jump headlong into petty childish insults, and b) has now openly admitted he took his initial position specifically in order to provoke exactly that sort of argument - that is, he was in fact plainly trolling the forum, rather than actually attempting to discuss the scientific or pseudoscientific basis behind the transit of the Jenolan sphere to the far side of the galaxy.
So yeah, I think all the juice has been squeezed from this particular orange...
You lot buckin to be hired by the story department at Cryptic?
or you after a technical advisors job?
lol
Heck yes. I could write a more species-inclusive and internally consistent story than anything Cryptic's ever managed in my sleep. The plot holes are only the tip of the iceberg:
-- Every Fed mission dealing with a nonhuman culture assumes the PC's a human. Do you idiots from Hathon not see the freaking ridges on my nose?
-- Every KDF mission period assumes the PC's a Klingon. I have teeth running down the middle of my face. Newsflash: I'm a Lethean mercenary, not a gorram "honorable" warrior. What the **** am I doing babbling about honor and glory and spamming gratuitous thlIngan Hol?
-- The tension between the flagship captains over the Jenolan sphere was the first time in forever that somebody even alluded to the fact that the Klinks and Feds are supposed to be embroiled in an interstellar war.
-- We get this half-assed justification of random one-shot technobabble because some twit at Cryptic wanted to play Turok instead of STO. "something something Omega particles BAAAD. Hey, look, a T-rex with a frikkin laser beam!"
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

Starswordc, you really need to play the Vulcan diplomatic daily(aka Ancestral Sin) as a Fed-allied Romulan. It's so out of character it's funny. :P
Hell, it's out of character as a Vulcan, too. Play it as a green-blooded hobgoblin and you're like, did I flunk out of middle school history or something?

Considering how many of the KDF races got there by conquest or as hired mercenaries, it makes quite a bit of sense for their cultures to be subsumed.
As for Admirals commanding starships, I've run down the complete list before, but a LOT of admirals are explicitly shown or stated to comand ships: Riker (Enterprise), Paris (unspecified Prometheus-class), Ross (Bellerophon), Wesley (Lexington), Decker (Constellation), Jameson (Gettysburg, until he fell ill but after he became an admiral), Leyton (commanded the Laktoa immediately before events in Homefront, transferred it to a newly promoted captain), Haftel (unnamed Excelsior-class), Hanson (unnamed ship destroyed before the Enterprise's arrival in First Contact). I omit Kirk, who pulled rank and abused power to stay in the captain's chair until they finally just put him there properly.
While I've got so many Memory Alpha pages open, generals: Chang (unnamed BoP), Stex (Kronos One), Martok (Rotarran and Negh'var), ShiVang (unnamed ship), Tanas (Vor'nak).

It takes a long time for that to happen. The Orions only allied with the Empire fifteen years ago, and the Gorn were only conquered six years ago (and are still allowed self-rule according to The Path to 2409). And the Nausicaans and Letheans are explicitly in it for the latinum. I'm leaving the Ferasans out because Cryptic's never bothered to even explain their existence, never mind why they're in the Klingons' sphere of influence.

Apart from Martok, whom we spent enough time with to know for certain he was in direct command of IKS Rotarran, 99% of those can be remedied as having an offscreen flag captain, which makes a lot more organizational sense in a military context than intentionally having one person direct the operations of an entire ship and an entire fleet.

No, that's actually from one of the technical manuals. The drive runs on handwavium as far as the TV series are concerned. However, the TM explanation was part of Miguel Alcubierre's inspiration to design the Alcubierre drive.
But they also explained the same process in the series. You should rewatch the episodes. I suggest starting with "Cold Front" from Star Trek:Enterprise.

And sometimes, when you reach the ending levels and are sharing missions with Starfleet, the NPCs get confused. General Malthit didn't kill that True Way TRIBBLE at Goralis because S'tass told him to - he killed that stupid petaQ because the True Way called him Starfleet!!
Hell, it's out of character as a Vulcan, too. Play it as a green-blooded hobgoblin and you're like, did I flunk out of middle school history or something?
Lol, true. It's weirder as a Romulan because you have a Romulan ambassador treating a member of the Romulan Republic as if you're well.... a Human or maybe a Vulcan.

Does it to KDF aligned Romulans too. . . .
