Yes. Very disappointing. How can you tell me this was not a STOKED promo, I don't know. Also, how could you have got C-Store prizes, without PWE/Cryptic involvement. Nxt time you do something like this, tell us from the beginning so we don't waste our time on it. If anything, my opinion of STOKED has gone down, and it wasn't very high, after becoming a podcast.
Indeed this. I've never really liked podcasts to begin with, just not my thing, but this really lowered my opinion of them (especially STOKED).

Be fair guys.... The STOked part was just the podcast that Brandon happened to be on when the whole thing went down therefore he used the podcast to promote the "hunt" and his "rewards" ....
Branflakes is the guy who fronted the "bounty prizes" not STOked....
We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.
Interesting read, Personally I think he succeeded, at least in stirring something within the community, and while i'm not totally sold on its implimentation I think theres a seed of something here
While the teasing, the build-up, the riddles and stirring up the community was very well done, i was disapointed in the outcome. For weeks i was solving puzzles. Uncovering clues that might lead to interesting content, be it a FE or a foundry series. And then the finale was none of that, and i couldn't even participate because of timezone.
What was laid bare was that people crave for challenging content, and i think lots of inspiration was handed by the playerbase for future content involving the children of Khan and/or Moriarty and that sort of stuff...
Still i thank you for the entertaining quest and the effort put into.
Fugitive, For my part I enjoyed all of it, including twittering with you. The only thing I was disappointed in was the length of the hunt. It took place at a time when I was at work and when I did get home I had missed it. Please next time do a couple of others scattered throughout the day.
And to paraphrase what I said to you in my first twitter post.
Let "The game continue...."
Oh and my prize if I ever do catch you?
A screen shot of the two of us together would do Very Nicely!

I think a lot of people are just upset that they missed the event (understandable) or because it was too 'mainstream' just because it became associated with a couple of other community elements.
Really, folks? You're upset because the prizes were handed out by a podcast? That one creative fan sought help from other creative fans, one of which is employed at PWE?
Did you honestly feel like the Fugitive 'sold out'? Or are you just sore because it was a really interesting campaign, and you expected a payoff that you ended up missing?
Take a look at my Foundry missions! Conjoined, Re-emergence, and . . .

No., actually. I didn't want a reward. And i don't think he sold out. Just a bit disappointed with the outcome of the riddle campaign. Got my hopes up too high by all the clues for something playable and contentwise. And also for the timeslot.
Or are you just sore because it was a really interesting campaign, and you expected a payoff that you ended up missing?
I can only speak for myself and say that the disappointing aspect to me was the build up was actually really well done, interesting and something different yet had a less than interesting pay off.
i am not knocking anyone for the effort they put it, or the prizes that they did not have to give out and im sure lots of people did had fun whether they won or not.
But if you have an epic build up, you better have an epic payoff too.
To be honest, I was expecting an epic foundry mission, maybe even a series..
I don't blame Branflakes or STOked, as if this had really gone as bad as a server hacking etc, it would have made them look really bad, REALLY bad!
For me, where the Fugitive failed, was to allow Branflakes to turn it into a community event. So rather than this mysterious figure threatening the very nature of the Federation, it was turned into positive spin for PWE instead..
Had it been a foundry mission, I don't think we would have been surprised, but there would have been more respect for such an interesting advertising campaign.
In the end it was a bit of an anticlimax tbh, though I do give you respect for the lead up to it.
Well, I arrived at this party late, but I think the entire STOFugitive thing was incredibly fun and different and creative.
A player constructs an elaborate series of puzzles, challenges, and games, not for his own RP or alts, but for the rest of us to solve.
40+ pages, just here in this Forum, of players working together to figure these clues out and speculate on their meaning.
6 weeks of interaction between this mysterious fellow and the rest of us.
Enough interest generated to get even PWE/Cryptic curious and swept up into the intrigue.
To me, this goes above and beyond what we as players should ever expect in any kind of computer game. "One of us" has used the game we all love to create an epic "out-of-game" Foundry episode, where we (not our characters) are the participants! I applaud this guy for all his effort, and I thank him for adding to the enjoyment of this game. He deserves a lot of credit for what he did, and I for one am really impressed.

Blame Branflakes here, not Mav, Nikki, or Irish.

Yep. Nothing at all to do with STOLED.
I actually like Delta Rising.
With prizes provided by BRANFLAKES.
Prises BRANFLANKS wanted to use as bounty rewards.... STOked was the intermediary for his own agenda in this.
