I had been playing the game earlier on Tuesday after the season 8 launch but before the night's maintenance, and The Breach was basically unplayable. The ship was flashing bright white, and pretty much everything else....torpedoes, plasma leaks, other players' ships, everything was square boxes. After the Breach, many other players and ships seemed to be missing textures (white shapes only) and any icons that I hadn't had in my inventory at the start of the combat, including the ones on my hotbar, all disappeared...this was a graphics issue, not an unbinding issue, the keys still worked and the tooltips still popped up on the empty space. Logging out to the title screen left it almost entirely bright white except for the barely visible version number at the top, and the username/password boxes appeared normally. After the night's maintenance I tried the Breach again and it worked fine. I switched characters and went to the Dyson sphere zone for a good hour or so, no problems. Then another log out, and the title screen is back to bright white, and back in game, the textures/icons are missing again. I never had any such issue before season 8 so it must be related to that.
And here's a shot of a character screen after exiting the mission. Borders on windows also missing, along with a bunch of inventory icons, and of course the textures are obvious:
Ditto. Mainly but not limited to: partial uniform textures; nearly all icon types (inventory/bank items, power tray, menu items, activated powers - grnd+space; doff headshots); NPC 'Hail' backdrops; HUD mini-map's map layer; login screen after onset in game; random scenery panels and misc pop-up window frames not showing, rendering them transparent.

In response to a request by tacofangs, the relevant graphics hardware specs (where stated) are summarised below. Note: An earlier post contained a shorter list of h/w, taken only from the related threads; before being moved & expanded upon with entries made here. Part 1 (PCs & Windows), Part 2 (Mixed setups & Macs) - 80 unique configurations
It should be noted that despite their length, the entries on all of these lists are -solely- selected on the basis of reporting missing icons & textures, occurring over gameplay time. Be they left either: transparent, replaced with a white-out or single colour (usually a bright neon 'bloom') or a very low res alternative. Also swapping / strobing between two of the above.
No attempt has been made to collate additional post-S8 graphical issues such as: other artefacts; frame-rate/lag problems; general resolution settings; smearing/stuttering on game start; nor icon problems whose onset is consistently the result of a user initiated action (e.g. reports of consumable icons in the power tray, disappearing on activation).
Im Having the same issue. My icons at first disappeared from my hotbar and the colors and other stuff was boxes. So i didnt play again until today. I noticed there was a patch of about 250 mb when i logged on and my hotbar doesnt do that but the rest is the same. I have verified files and rebooted. Basically for me season 8 is unplayable.

Im working off an nvidia geforce 210 with 1 gig of ddr3. If that helps any. And yes my screen looks like the other pics posted here. Thank you
Same issue since Season 8 launched, textures don't seem to be loading correctly. But the problem doesn't start as soon as a log in, it's usually after I've changed to a few different maps. On ground characters skins, objects, inventory icons and scenery don't display and in space the ship skins along with weapon & shield FX are just blocks of colour, even the map won't display in some instances. I haven't changed anything graphics wise (in the options or on the actual computer).

Also seem to get reeeeeally big slow downs when in a 'cloud' i.e. "Vent Plasma effect" or fighting the dreadnaught at the end of the Gorn Fleet action.

Just happened to me. Like other people've reported it happened after some game time. Fortunately restarting the game fixed the problem, at least for now.
Samue issue for me, it doesn't happen right away, usually after a bit of playing. But when it does happen, it becomes very difficult to play normally. Not to mention awful to look at.
Hopefully a dev will at least acknowledge the problem... I don't want this to become one of those bugs that never gets fixed. It ruins the game, and makes me want to go do something else.
I find after playing for a few minutes that the graphics namely the textures curupt, menu screen portions vanish and items in your inventory and bank don't show, is there a work around? Or is this just a bug that we have to wait to be fixed. At the moment it becomes so bad that it has become a game breaker for me.
I did try to carry on with it and one space batter became whited out with orange squares floating about! Also visit shipyard and noticed the avenger out the window flickers white!

I have the same thing happening to me as of today. Exactly the same from what you described. I usually shut down the game and then restart it - it helps because when you get back in it's ok, but the glitch can happen again at any time all of a sudden(happened to me on multiple ocassions).
I agree, at a certain point it becomes a game breaker cause I can't be bothered to constantly restart the game to get an uncertain amount of playtime untill I glitch again. In fact, that's the reason I'm posting here and not playing atm.
Whew. In all honesty, it's a bit of a relief to hear that others are having this happening. I mean, it's terrible that you're getting it too, but at the same time I know that it isn't just me. I thought maybe my PC was dying or something when no one else was coming forward with this as well.
If it really is latency as Bran Man said, I'm wondering then if it's something on Cryptic's end now that others are seeing this? This never happened to me before Season 8. Only yesterday and today am I seeing this.

I'd bet it sth. on their end, since others are experiencing it and also since you haven't had this happen before and neither have I. First time for me something like this to happen in STO.
I get the same issues, checked most of the images you guys uploaded, it's pretty much the exact same thing. Here is a descrip I posted in a not-very-related thread (at the time it was the only one that mentioned graphics glitches I could find):
So far this has been the issue with me, not just Voth content but throughout the game. You don't mention which graphics bugs, but for me it is everywhere: space backgrounds, white boxes appearing over items, uniforms and objects appearing as solid glowing white, color shifts, bank/inventory items appearing as empty boxes with a colored outline and a number for stack size, mouse cursor disappearing, my ship arrow not appearing on Galaxy map, most lighting 'aura' or glow effects being just large balls of color, etc.
I will log in and play for about an hour or so, then on a sector change or entering battle or just bringing up my inventory/bank, that will trigger the graphics problems. Rarely (ie, twice out of about 20 occurences) opening a dialog box, interaction, or zone change will reset the graphics and they will be okay for a while. Otherwise I have to completely exit and restart the game to get them working again.
ATI Radeon graphics, and even though I had fairly current drivers, I just updated to the latest (13.9 I believe) - problems still occur. Win Vista Business, not using Directx 11.
I had absolutely zero graphics glitches prior to the season 8 patch, so no, it's not the computer.
Will prob be trying it on another computer with an NVidia graphics card in the next couple days, see if it gives similar results.
(Edit: Exiting the game and restarting normally fixes it, and just going to 'Log Out' will normally CAUSE the problem to occur if it wasn't. Also, the missing ship directional pointer on galaxy map is constant whether the graphics glitch is happening or not, so is likely a separate issue.)
Really, really bad. I'm trying to do the final mission in the Deviidian FE series, and I can't even see the markers for the slingshot back to the past. It's very blinding and practically unplayable.
Also true by me
- mostly problem happens, when i switch type of play couple or more times
(like - i go from ship combat to away team play and back)...
The delayed onset for most is interesting. Subjectively it seems to arrive earlier the more specialised map changes you make - following to be taken with a LARGE grain of salt as I haven't been paying that close attention to the time aspect nor collating any figures.
All examples are fresh from programme start, as they are variants of my own 'dailies':
Lobi mission replay + Vlugta + Tour of multiple space sectors for doff assignments, back to ESD -> 45 mins+ (at least, before onset)
Lobi mission replay + Visiting one significant ground map (New Rommie, Nukara, Defera or Sphere, then back to ESD) -> 45 mins (45+ ? extended mission time in one location may be altering my perception of the elapsed time)
Lobi mission replay + Staying put at ESD but beaming out-n-back 3 or 4 times to handle freighter bridge requests -> onset clearly under 45mins
I've linked additional forum reports/threads on the same theme, to my earlier post no. 5
I am also experiencing these exact same problems, there is no possible way this is a latency issue, this is a purely graphical problem.
Cryptic/PWE please fix this and immediately...its a game breaker, no one wants to shut down the game and restart it just to get an uncertain amount of play time as another poster on this topic had said.
I link these because they are the same issue im having, only I am also getting a graphical load error when flying around where glowy effects are super bright like someone gave crack to the Bloom Effect.

Exactly what I have. just tried the breach mission, and got lost due to acute snow blindness. at first I thought the effects were limited to the new content, but no, sadly it followed me to DS9. So come on Cryptic, as we all say, this is a deal breaker, and steals much of the thunder from your pride and joy. We need a fix NOW.

Like some sort of memory leak because it is initially OK for 30 minutes to an hour then degrades to the issues others have posted.
Note, that I did NOT have these issues at Season 8 Launch (i.e. Yesterday), it's only since the supplemental maintenance/patch.
