Ok so I just spent FOURTY-FIVE mind-numbingly boring minutes playing the GREULING new STF "The Breach." I was playing the NORMAL difficulty too. So at first the mission moves quickly my team got through the first part in 5-10 minutes and were quickly inside the ship. After that things slowed down to the speed of a pregnant turtle. Once inside the ship we spent 10 minutes killing wave after wave after wave of Voth ships 10-15 waves in total. And although most of the ships aren't hard to kill it still took an eternity. My entire team was asking WHEN WILL IT END!

After that we spent several minutes flying down identical boring corridors until we finally found a Voth Dreadnought. Then we... YOU GUESSED IT! Spent another 5-10 mind-numbing minutes hammering away at a nearly invincible ship. Its shields NEVER dropped and we had to kill it on bleed-through, which may I remind everyone is only 10% or less of your damage.

Then after searching through several more long boring corridors we finally found the SUB-Core of the ship. Where we... WOW YALL ARE PYSCHIC THAT'S RIGHT! Spent ANOTHER 5-10 minutes wiping out 10+ waves of Voth ships. Before discovering that the Sub-Core moves around... We chased the little TRIBBLE down eventually and killed it.
at which point we continued to the main core and spent ANOTHER 5-10 minutes sitting still and hammering at it, which took no skill, only way too much time.

After this my entire team couldn't find their way out or just didn't care since it's not really necessary. I got out and received 47 marks. But my brain was fried!

All in All it was a long boring grind which required NO skill only an UN-GODLY amount of time. The Voth ships are ludicrously hard to kill especially the dreadnought and the rewards should be doubled for it to be worth it. Did I mention we were playing the NORMAL version!?! God help those who try the ELITE.

I Will NEVER play that mission again until it is adjusted. And before you say I just had a bad team yall should know there were TWO lockbox ships AND a Chel Grett on my team. I was in one of the lockbox ships, my S'Golth escort fully kitted out with MK XII [ACC] [DMG]x2 Elachi Dual Heavy Crescent cannons and Turrets. And ONE more things THE MISSION DOES NOT AWARD ANY DILITHIUM!!! Almost ALL other STF's do...

I have never hated on anything in this game before, I find most everything fun and I am easy to please in general. But my God this mission is absolutely brutal! A horrible grind which doesn't even have rewards that are worth it. AVOID THIS MISSION at all costs, there are much better ones out there.

you and your team were just plain bad. close hangars to stop spawns. use nukara mines or transphasics (or do the novel thing and bring firepower.) repulsors, plasma burns, shield bypass weapons and reputation perks. Gravity well.

I did this on elite with pugs only. It never took long, never failed and i encountered nothing you described here. Thats why i say you just need to start building a capable char and ship.

And hey perhaps people could get back imto the habit throwing heals to others. . .

Oh and AT NO POINT are the voth invincible, you just need to move your lazy asses and shoot them from another angle. This mission is a fun little ride and welcome change up from borg stfs which are the fckn posterchild for dumbed down content - content many of you lot still fail after a freaking year!

If the previous rep took a lot the current one will take forever.

For what we get for doing Breach that mission is not even worth trying.

i got 54 marks on normal when i completed it. so elite will likely give even more.

remember, its the new commendation points that will be giving you the most of your XP, unless you log on almost every hour to run the 1 hour xp thing.

Come on guys, didn't you listen during Tribble Feedback to put in enough time to escape?

And what happened to the Voth Cybernetic Implants dropping in Elite Events?

Escaping is not a problem if you know where to head...

After exiting the west door from the Core room, head straight, through the hangar room, look for the whole on the Left that you originally came in on

did you pick up a commendation another way with the char you didnt get ti with? you can only receive one commendation a day total, not per mission.

Damm, didnt expect ppl to actually having problems with this one or even hate it. I like this mission, its soo much fun then the STFs wich are now nothing then some DPS contests...

If you actually read the mission objectives its easy even on elite. Did them on elite with both escorts/destryer type ships and slow turning ones like a carrier. Only things u need to learn is to close the hangar doors as fast as u can, wich u can do it even in combat and that at finish the escape route is on the left of ur mini-map.

But I do agree it needs some better rewards, like some dil and at elite at least a voth cybernetic implant for ppl who dont like grounds since atm those can only be gained there.

The only thing it really needs is an increase to the reward.

Considering length, the elite version should reward 100-140 DM for a full run. Especially given how with a decent team I can do ISE, CSE and KASE in under 15 mins total for a total of 2880 dilithium, 225 omega marks and 3 Borg implants

AND Voth implants! Why on earth doesn't it reward voth implants?

They srsly need to split this mission up into a trench run and a interior part...

or make the time is spend worth whlie...

storming the spire takes less than half the time 1/4 of the difficulty (not that this really mattered) and rewards roughly the same.

that said, i totally dig the new "notion" of having to move with your ship instead of sitting still...
although "storming the spire" is easiest when each player sits at a spot and doesn't move away from it in phase 1.
another anoying thing about storming the spire is the blast dmg of the AP turrets...they allways take out the transporter when they get destroyed at the wrong moment.

I love this mission but feel elite needs just a few more things. The primary core makes me think of a raid boss. I think there should be a few more mechanics, maybe some new attacks in elite that are more complex. Toss in a few support ships that do unique functions.

I would REALLY like The Breach ... if I could get through it ONCE without bugs ruining part or all of the mission.

Seriously ... the first two times I played it my ship flew INSIDE the walls on the mothership/deathstar and got stuck there.

Yesterday and today there were enemy ships inside the deathstar that I could target but couldn't actually shoot ... nor could any of my team mates, so we ultimately had to quit those instances since we couldn't progress with the mission since there were enemies that had to be destroyed yet couldn't be shot.

Did more that four people beta test The Breach before Cryptic decided it was good enough to go live on the holodeck?

It's a collision detection fail in one particular area. Don't rage, report it as a bug so it'll get fixed. Rage at the complete lack of story.

No, I didn't. I'm going to try Breach again today on this toon, as well as my other toons to see if it works. If not, I'll just say **** the dyson rep and be done with it.

So I heard a lot of feedback saying the breach is way too hard.

Well I pugged it and we had 3 people quit the match before we even got past the dread. Two had quit before the first room.

From dread on me and one other person two-manned this thing.

Took some time, but it was not hard at all.

    Thanks sparks, for staying.

Im not a big fan of the pew pew all done look my shields never dropped fights. Keep it up cryptic, keep us on our toes!!!!.

Also good work on the sphere. Ambushed 4 frigates the other day and it turned into a battle with 8 crusers 6 battleships and 15 frigate battleing me and 12 other feds and kdf.

For the most part it's alright not too hard but things like this are a right d**k move:

[7:47] [Combat (Self)] Voth Heavy Cannon Turret deals 14091 (32482) Kinetic Damage(Critical) to you with Transphasic Chroniton Torpedo.

I don't mind things being hard, I don't mind things having good damage, I DO MIND when things do stupid levels of damage and one shot/very nearly one shot you.

Also, I see what you did with them, massive time gates in distance travelling. I hope we don't see more STFs time gated that way in order to prevent them being done in 2 mins. A real fix to them like actually having difficulty on elite would be nice.

As for the mission itself, it's OK. Feels very Star Wars like but I'll leave that to the lawyers lol.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

Awesome work! But disruptor, on a fed ship? HERETIC! :P

I did it recently with my Oddy prototype, and had no trouble at all maneuvering inside the fortress ship. I really don't get why people have issues.... The only thing I used to boost maneuverability was my cruiser command.

This whole mission is a disgustingly shameless copy of the death Star battles from Star Wars. I mean.. seriously? You must have copied almost to the letter the scenes from a different sci-fi? You weren't creative enough to write your own scenario? And you even got paid for this?!

    Yeah, Totally...

Except that even the most anal player would have to admit that it "rips off" scenes from more than one movie.... at best.

Truthfully, in neither Star Wars movie did they have to blast a hole in the hull of the enemy ship to attack it. In the first one, they didn't fly inside the Death Star at all. In the second there were pre-existing gaping holes that they flew through. In neither did they have to fight anything larger than Tie fighters... :P
