This was a joke... high yeild not working, torpedo spread not working, rapid fire not working, scatter volley not working, tac team lagging, science team & emg pwr to shields lagging, speed/velocity issues (sometimes hauling a** @ 1/4 impulse power, sometimes moving like a turtle @ full impulse) & of course, not enough time to escape. You are pathetic Cryptic/Perfect World, pathetic. Congats on finishing the job JJ Abrams started- I used to love Trek & now I am just sick of what it's become.

I've encountered none of the problems you just stated and as far as I know neither has anyone in my fleet. Maybe your connection is just a bit iffy?
And I agree, its really confusing at first but I really love The Breach.

Anyone want to give me a Temporal Heavy Dreadnought pack? I'll be your friend
Ok so I just spent FOURTY-FIVE mind-numbingly boring minutes playing the GREULING new STF "The Breach." I was playing the NORMAL difficulty too. So at first the mission moves quickly my team got through the first part in 5-10 minutes and were quickly inside the ship. After that things slowed down to the speed of a pregnant turtle. Once inside the ship we spent 10 minutes killing wave after wave after wave of Voth ships 10-15 waves in total. And although most of the ships aren't hard to kill it still took an eternity. My entire team was asking WHEN WILL IT END!
After that we spent several minutes flying down identical boring corridors until we finally found a Voth Dreadnought. Then we... YOU GUESSED IT! Spent another 5-10 mind-numbing minutes hammering away at a nearly invincible ship. Its shields NEVER dropped and we had to kill it on bleed-through, which may I remind everyone is only 10% or less of your damage.
Then after searching through several more long boring corridors we finally found the SUB-Core of the ship. Where we... WOW YALL ARE PYSCHIC THAT'S RIGHT! Spent ANOTHER 5-10 minutes wiping out 10+ waves of Voth ships. Before discovering that the Sub-Core moves around... We chased the little TRIBBLE down eventually and killed it.
at which point we continued to the main core and spent ANOTHER 5-10 minutes sitting still and hammering at it, which took no skill, only way too much time.
After this my entire team couldn't find their way out or just didn't care since it's not really necessary. I got out and received 47 marks. But my brain was fried!
All in All it was a long boring grind which required NO skill only an UN-GODLY amount of time. The Voth ships are ludicrously hard to kill especially the dreadnought and the rewards should be doubled for it to be worth it. Did I mention we were playing the NORMAL version!?! God help those who try the ELITE.
I Will NEVER play that mission again until it is adjusted. And before you say I just had a bad team yall should know there were TWO lockbox ships AND a Chel Grett on my team. I was in one of the lockbox ships, my S'Golth escort fully kitted out with MK XII [ACC] [DMG]x2 Elachi Dual Heavy Crescent cannons and Turrets. And ONE more things THE MISSION DOES NOT AWARD ANY DILITHIUM!!! Almost ALL other STF's do...
I have never hated on anything in this game before, I find most everything fun and I am easy to please in general. But my God this mission is absolutely brutal! A horrible grind which doesn't even have rewards that are worth it. AVOID THIS MISSION at all costs, there are much better ones out there.
This is Cryptic's compromise. It is face roll easy so new players won't die much and takes forever to kill so elite players don't melt it in secs. It also keeps people playing. The perfect grind according to Cryptic.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Don't read the original post it's the worst player ever!
First off, if you fly in the jet streams around the Fortress Ship, you move extremely quickly like an X-Wing making a starting run on a Star Destroyer.
Second, you don't destroy waves inside the ship, you have to close the hangar bays, you silly goose. (To put it nicely.)
Third, the Voth ships only become immune on 1-3 shield facings. Go around and fire on their vulnerable facings, you brilliant master.
You wasted time because you are bad at this, and on normal difficulty no less! Even on my blind first attempt at Elite I was able to complete each section of the ship. Although I didn't make it out in time on my first attempt I was able to find the exit on my first play-through. L2P.
You have to close the hangar doors inside (and other things in later phases), not just kill the ships. I faced 2, maybe 3 waves before they were all closed when I ran it.
I really didn't even keep reading, it's a clear case of "ran out of time killing everything in the Vault" - nobody involved was actually pursuing the objective, only beating their faces against the hurdles blocking the objectives.
Took maybe thirty minutes for my fleet. It's just got a lot more stages than the average STF.

And yes it is slow, people commented on it in testing. But it's worse now because they made the Voth Overpowered with AP with Shield bypass and Gravity Wells that 1-shot you.
Worst of all, they didn't address any of the players not knowing where to go.
The first part was easy I was referring to all the TRIBBLE inside the ship. It takes forever to kill anything and required ZERO skill. I've been playing for THREE years and can insta-kill just about anything in my Elachi UBER ship, but this was just ridiculous.
Calm down, it's only been out a day, and no one knows the tricks yet. It will get a balance pass (nerfed) the players will get better (pandered to) and then everyone will move on (hold grudges) to new STF's and we will all enjoy (complain about) them. The sun will rise, and it will set, people will go to work, and they will go home. The world will go on turning, and circle of life will continue as it always does.

If this was hard for you then you are an awful player. Think about what you did wrong and read the tips that I posted above.
Nothing is difficult about this STF, you are insane.

I see I forgot to activate my anti-troll shield...
Regardless of what you think of me as a player my complaints are valid... The mission is far too long and it requires no skill just mindless pounding away of various nearly invincible Bosses...
Phase 1, split up and fly in the slip streams on each side of the Fortress ship. You will know when you are in a slipstream when you are flying very quickly. Keep mashing spacebar as you go and you will destroy the required hardpoints. When you get to a structural integrity node, it's kind of rough. Destroy the turrets around the node, then destroy the node. Repeat the slip stream until you can rally at the breach.
At the breach just spam spreads and fire at will on the hardpoints. Now enter the ship.
Destroy the enemy ships inside and rescue the friendly ships. You can rescue them even if you have agro. Close all of the hangar bays in order to proceed.
Now lower the force field to the next area. It's very straight forward. Rescue friendlies and then destroy the Dreadnaught. Too easy.
Next area rescue friendlies, destroy enemy ships then play, "Where's the power core?" Child's play.
Last area, park near the bottom of the core in order to avoid the energy beams it emits. Sometimes it teleports ships, just evasive back to safety. When it pops, the exit is directly across from where you entered the room. Exit the ship from where you entered it and then come cry on the forums cus you are bad and should feel bad.

No it's really not you are just slow and you couldn't figure out what to do. The bosses pop in seconds unless you just sit there and hit their INVINCIBLE shield facing, prosauce.

If it's mindless pounding WHAT TOOK YOU GUYS SO LONG TO FINISH

The first part went smoothly and we did everything you said we used the slipstream and I spammed spacebar it didn't take long. It was being inside the ship that took forever. There were not any instructions saying to close the hangar it just sadi to CLEAR the hangar which I took to mean wipe out everything... I found the exit in about 10 seconds unlike the rest of my team.

OP, The Breach is not an STF. Not every 5-player mission is an STF.
Also, you must have read the tips posted underneath your first post. There are jet streams that move you along quickly, you are to attack the hanger bays and not the waves of ships, and the Voth Dreadnought is only immune to shield damage on 3 facings (meaning you must attack the 4th one to get anywhere)
We are not trolls for saying that you played that mission rather awfully. Rather, we are trying to help you understand how to play it properly, the right way, and to help you move away from the assumptions you've gathered and posted.
That is all
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
I had... lets see... Ambassador Class with green XI Tetryon DBB, beam array x2 and that Lobi store missile launcher up front , green X tet-turrets and a trico mine in the back. Ran the Breen set, X green warp-core. 4 white neutronium armor... PD turret off the C-store escort... various other green and white support consoles.
Nothing spectacular. The rest of the PUG consisted of an Oddity, A Klingon Carrier, a Scimitar and a science ship (luna?).
I didn't explode once... one of the other ships exploded when a power-relay closed on it... and someone popped in the reactor room.
58 marks, will play again with a proper team this weekend.

I didn't expect the STO team to make their own version of the death star battle as seen on Return Of The Jedi!!!!!!

I did it on tribble with random guys and it took us nowhere near that long.

No, it says to close the hangar bays.

No it says "Clear The Hangar" on the mission box. Check for yourself and supply a screenshot if you wish.
