I was able to borrow my sis's laptop for an hour. An hour of blissful uncrashing gameplay. Turned every shred of dil I had on every char into zen to pick up a D'Dex, and my sis got the Exelsior on sale on my account.
Almost certainly wont be able to again before the 2nd though, and even if I do I wont be able to grind up the remaing zen to complement purchased zen in one session.
Sigh.
Still I was lucky, and I know most of us wont even be able to get the two ships I did.
What I want to know is why cryptic put the sale on to end on the 2nd when they are refusing to put the patch that will fix (most) crashers until the 5th. The insensitivity is truly breathtaking. I thought the failure to extend the dyson tribble was bad, and the failure to extend/compensate the lot lobi awful but this takes the cake.
Despite my good fortune in getting the D'dex and Excelsior on sale, I guess the other shoe dropping is they have no clue how to fix 25664664. Or if they do they havent seen fit to reply to any of my requests for info on this or the tribble notes thread.
Startint to worry that they aren't gonna bother fixing my error, or if they do itll take so long myself and my fellow 25ers will miss out on the winter event ship too.

PWE, I have to agree with Cody. I can't believe, still, there are players who are not online ever since season 8 launched weeks ago! To launch a product that isn't 100 percent accessible isn't a smart business practice because frustration and anger, due to avoidable lock-outs, does not help Zen sales. It's business 101 -- treat the customer right.
It's time to roll-back to season 7! Even though I'm back into STO, it's not fair for the other players who are languishing -- it's passed time to get everyone back into the game!
(Also, why haven't we been compensated for the items and specials that we lost, while we were locked out -- no fault of our own?)
Well Passed the 300 pages mark. Tribble is still working for me and hopefully I will be able to get on Holodeck from the 5th of December. Fingers crossed.
Just as a quick question the character I ported to Tribble can I port it back to Holodeck or do I have to start all over again with it?
The Character you ported over is an exact copy almost, (You have no Reputation complete, but you do have any and all gear in your inventory or bank at time of copying.) Your character on the holodeck is not effected in any way and is still there.
Nothing you do on tribble will effect your holodeck character and vice versa. and you cannot port a tribble character back to holodeck.
(Also, why haven't we been compensated for the items and specials that we lost, while we were locked out -- no fault of our own?)
that is what i am wondering. we should have been given codes to redeem or something to make up for what we lost. because of cryptic. we lost over 300 lobi, AND the chance to get the dyson tribble.
Well i can see that a lot of players are having trouble with dis crash Sh..
This is the messege dat appears when my game crashes.

Hope that someone can help me, tnks.
Fill a Bug report or start a new thread with this. Maybe a Dev will see it there.
No Dev who has his mind right is fallowing this thread here. The only guy who response is the Community Manager when the sh.tstorm towards Cryptic is raining down.
i was having the same issues with the new updates..i changed the compatibiltiy mode on the STO exe to XP and it worked!! Got to play for a couple of hours so hope it helps anyone:D
I decided to fool around so transfered about 12 hundred lobi over to tribble. I bought the Voth ship just to look at the bridge. Maybe tomorrow Ill get a couple of the other ships to look at.
When I am in tribble I post in the orderofpersistance channel to see if any one else is on. as well as in whatever zone chat Im in.

that is a driver crash, it commonly happens to overclocked or overheated cards. if you are getting the error repeatedly it means you have a duff driver.
EDIT :
just looked it up in old study book. apparently
"The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed."
so it could also be that STO is badly coded. like iv been saying all along
but my original comment still stands. it still means the driver is crashing. and an overheated or overclocked card still can cause the same issue
especially since it has teamed up with DEVICE_REMOVED
I was chatting to a couple of guys on Tribble yesterday (through OrderofPersistance channel) and they said Tribble is running smoothly since the latest patch... at least as good as before this whole debacle.
Whilst this is good news, as in Holodeck should be running perfectly for those of us who wither couldn't get in or had MAJOR graphics issues when we did get in, I can't help but think it is too little, too late.
Let's look at what 18897741's (makes us sound like a Torchwood villain) have missed so far:
Solenae tribble,
many days of free lobi,
the last days of a master key sale,
the first days of a ship sale,
dilithium refining (unless gold member and has auto-refine),
reputation grinding (some could have put 1 or 2 tiers on the new Dyson rep by now, not to mention other reps),
starbase levelling (some have missed out on throwing marks, items, doffs, etc. at fleet starbases which would have helped their fleet and themselves),
gameplay itself.
This list is by no means exhaustive and may only cover some of the personal ones I've felt or been told have affected others. There may be more.
My hope is a simple one: Cryptic/PWE to acknowledge that they should have tested more, listened to feedback more and simply put out a better expansion and to apologise. They should then explain exactly (laymans terms if need be) what went wrong so we can call them on it if it happens again and to apologise. Something as a gesture of goodwill to the 18897741's to make amends (I'm not asking for a tonne of free lobi, keys or c-store goods) and an apology.
I should point out that an apology from Branflakes is not going to cut it (despite his fibrous goodness). If I mess up, and have done wrong, and an apology needs to be made then I'd look like an a** by making my brother/employee/wife give the apology, wouldn't I? The apology needs to come from the person in charge of the mess, the one who thought it more important to hit a deadline than to ensure a good product. And it needs to be more than a platitude.

Well I'm glad their priorities are properly aligned. Clearly developing Gingerbread Town is more important than GETTING US BACK IN THE FLAMING GAME, keeping us informed or extending the sales/events missed because of the company's huge mess up.
Seriously. The ONLY mission of every cryptic coder right now should be on finding and fixing this mistake so players can get back in, and player reps like Bran should prioritise keeping those affected by this giant TRIBBLE up over minutia.
How long would it have taken to swing by and let us know how its going on 18error and 25error?
But hey. We now get more info on the event some us STILL won't be able to play.

Still crashing, still no clue when itll be fixed and not so much as a soz.
At the very least they could have left redshirt up with a pre S8 build, but that'd be too much like consideration.
I Have to agree. Not getting any feed back from Cryptic. Lack of visual priority from them.
I also agree in regards to redshift as well. Getting frustrated now. Especially when we won't get back on Holodeck until Thursday earliest. Really not happy and very much loosing patience.

This is the same message I'm getting as well after the Cryptic screen, it goes onto the next loading screen then crashes with the same message.
Never had any problems like this with STO since launch, just wish they would sort it out quickly as its obviously happening to a lot of players !!

Hmm... I can't remember when... Was I drunk? Am I pregnant? You're the father of this lovechild?
Since we got on to tribble I have seen 2 people on it. thats it. I am so bored over there.
