yes, thats exactly what it means. GW would be on par with CPB is people speced dampners like they do insulators.
oh well, at least specing into it and running high aux does next to nothing anyway, you can use GW on AtB builds without any noticeable performance loss, as long as your target isn't speced in dampners or course.
Which is why you see teams running multiple copies. It is required to have any affect at all on someone who is spec'd into ID's.
GW was so useless, not so long ago, that just a +damps mod on a deflector was enough to render it useless. It's got a little more pull now, so you actually have to put some points into dampeners to shrug off GW's like we did before it was fixed. This is a good thing. Still, it's a fairly expensive skill and many might have to make that decision... "3 points or 6?" so GW (in it's current incarnation) will never be completely useless. Oh, and it eats up pets very well.
And those who don't waste skill points to defend against a very narrow sort of attack, at the expense of something with a broader utility should stop complaining because they made their choice knowing the options.
it sounds like they need to add tyken's rift to the GW party for lulz...And roflstomping:D. And i don't believe those 2 share a cooldown.
The whole idea behind gravity well is try and make you sit there and take your spanking properly:eek:, the fact that a team uses gravity well like that is called a tactic.
If you're loseing to gravity well, you'd probly end up pwnt tired because you tried to run anyway xD.:D
They share a 15 second cooldown, but an aftershock may trap them or TB3 (17 second duration) can spread into both.

Fyi, aux effects the damage pretty significantly if you're interested in clearing spam, etc. Unfortunately, skill points much less so anymore. The downside of them jacking up the base and lowering skillpoint impact is people can run it effectively w/minimal investment on that front.

your right, damage benefits quite a bit from aux. i tend to be using it on a tac captain that is mostly dealing damage with weapons, and just needs an awesome AOE snare,so thats not to big a deal to me. grav specing seems to effect range pull, and only the slightest bit pull strength
Your gravity well should disappear when you spawn another one. Or when anyone on your team spawns one nearby. And it should share a cooldown with tractor beam and all variations on warp plasma.
Asking for Gravity Well to share cooldowns with every control power is like asking for Attack Patterns to share a cooldown with Cannon Rapid Fire/Scatter Volley, Beam Fire at Will/Overload, and Torpedo High Yield/Spread while also having a shared cooldown with Emergency Power to Weapons and Directed Energy Modulation. If Science officers can't combine their control powers to slow an enemy, then Tactical officers shouldn't be able to use more than one tactical buff at a time. See how poorly thought out your demand is now?
lol @ waist. do you want to be immune or controlled? thats 100% your call, but waist is not the right word ether way

If the ship has cloak can lead w/high aux preset, then switch and aux2batt and eptw to get weapon power up quickly and have best of both worlds.

I would be exceedingly happier if GW had more pull and less damage. It's really about the snare after all and without that, it's not very useful. If it can't snare, it can't do damage. So it does neither. ID shouldn't be such a strong counter to the snare. ID should reduce it, but not negate it like it does. They only way to make GW work is if you disable the ship's engines, which is a tall order where there are so many abilities that can turn you into a perpetual speed demon.
