This is looking fantastic. I'm really looking forward to this update which will add something totally new to the game. I just hope that the trolls don't stifle future creativity. This is something that could probably never be done on a TV budget, the same as the snowmen, giant tripods and giant worms. I hope that we get to see more surprises of this sort in the future.

When you beam down to a new zone in STO you want to see something different, and I hope this grabs the headlines for all the right reasons when it goes live.

Please keep up the hard work. :)

    Dinosaurs silly

Space TRIBBLE, space Romans, space gangsters, space Greek gods, Kirk being rode like a horse, a virus that gets you drunk, a virus that turns you old, space hippies, a probe that talks to whales, Spock having no brain...not silly

Captains, I encourage you to read the blog first, instead of looking at images and basing judgement off them only. The Voth bio-engineered these Dinosaurs; considering their history and origins, they wouldn't be bio-engineering dogs and cats.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

I have, and as you know we had a good chat about this online, mate I love what you do for us in game, you are awesome. However for me it just does not fit... I am sorry.

Now that I think about it, it's all your fault guys, as you voted for "more Voyager" in one of the Cryptic polls, some time ago. ;) Voyager wasn't that good to begin with, and now Cryptic is gonna take its plot(holes) to extreme...

These look awesome, and i look forward to seeing them in action.

I would love to know why trek fans are so opposed to anything different or out of the norm though?

an alien race is doing something that seems totally alien to us. something we would never consider. so its clearly not star trek? i guess everyone just wants a human with a prosthetic forehead slapped onto them that acts like humans.

Cryptic, please continue to give us things we have not seen before. I for one enjoy pushing things beyond the established norm.

As much as I love the Voth from VOY, I can't help but think the robo-dinosaurs came from the insane mind of a supervillain Voth with a swivel chair petting a robo-sabretooth.

    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

With the dino-critters though, I can't help but think that Teleios has somehow swapped universes XD.

Heh, Teleios was a chump though. We whooped him twice and then he blew up at the end, taking out his entire operation on Monster Island. Teleiosaur is kind of a badass though. I miss the days when we could get Qwijibo and make him fight Teleiosaur down on Slither Beach. Those were good days man, good days.

    Okay.

This, I'm sorry. Is awesome. I'm a huge trekkie, have seen every episode, read most (if not all) of the books, seen all the movies ect. ect. ect.

What I love about playing this game is I'm making the Star Trek Experience my own, something unique. Is it truely "in canon" no, but you know what...

These are my voyages. Not someone elses. And I will enjoy this facet like I do all the others.

    ~Cheers

Just because we never saw it on-screen doesn't make it unthinkable in the Trek universe. Cybernetics in the Borg, Bynars, etc. The Trill host/symbiant relationship. Klingons keeping live Targs on their ships just so they can eat fresh meat. People still ride horses on Earth. It is easily within the realm of possibility in this universe that a species descended from dinosaurs would engineer a primitive animal for menial service and combat duties.

The fact that you don't like it does not grant you sole veto power over what is plausible in Trek.

Well, STO has come so far from the roots of Star Trek, i guess Dinosaurs with laser-eyes cant hurt anymore.

Because when i ignore that this is a Star Trek Game, Dinosaurs with laser-eyes are actually fu***** awesome :D:D

    Bravo for new and different.
I for one applaud adding a wide variety of fun to the game.
    and this looks like fun.

If you end up not liking it. Go play other content that you do enjoy.

I'm also really looking forward to (hopefully) seeing these enemy groups for use in the Foundry.

I have been complaining since first hearing about the Voth coming into the game, heck I have made many complaints about a lot of things mostly pvp I'm also a long time star trek fan but these pictures look cool so looking forward to it.

ST:VOY wasn't bad. It was just different from the other ST serieses, and different doesn't always equal bad.
