That's the cover of his fanfiction series he had made by a professional artist. The uniform has a reason. You have to read the story to understand why. He was using the cover to show the digitgrade M'Ress has.
Not really interested in fanfiction with romantic interest in M'Ress I just wanted to say that the reference is there, it's the original TAS material. It really is mindblowing to me (and all of you I think) how they could NOT model them after M'Ress (Hair, barepaws, digitigrade) but rather let them look like Elder Scrolls Khajiit (post Morrowind, when they removed the digitigrade legs in favour of generic parts to fit universal armour tiles).

They don't need to do a single damn thing, they already have everything they need in Champions Online. And if you've played Champions Online, you can identify all the animations in STO that have been ported straight from it. The animations of anyone who's gone crazy taken from the Irradiated, the 'breaking stuff' animations (which strangely can also be used on the poor woman in Everything Old Is New), the standing animation you can see on the Aelan Princess (I have no idea why that's not usable instead of Seductive).
The list goes on. The majority of what this game started with was Champions Online, and IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. THe original plan of Cryptic was to create a single engine and make loads of MMO's from it. The first was Champions Online and they simply lifted as much as humanly possible from it to use in STO because the development time was specifically intended to be as small as possible.
And they have to do very little art from the waist down. Considering how little the rest of STO cares, you can quite happily have Caitians choose between normal legs like now, or digitigrade ones which have a vastly reduced series of options. That's how it works for Orions, that's how it can work here. Women would be restricted to skirts, well actually, so could the dudes, and other options that are similarly loose.
Your big effort is redesigning 'mandatory' outfits like the survival suits. For 600 Zen a pop though, they can ****ing well make that effort because right now Caitians are nothing more than a reskinned base model with a ported tail from Champions Online stuck to it. As zero effort as it's possible to get, for 600 Zen.

Don't forget a personal "favourite" of mine, the stupid salute animation they even use over and over again in their cutscenes. Newsflash: Nobody in Star Trek saluted that way. Ever. Especially not Starfleet but sure as hell not Romulans or Klingons. But they cannot be bothered to make new animations that fit Star Trek but instead just say "**** it" and call it a day. But porting stuff for Caitians over, no way.

federation primary colors are blue and grey and kdf primary colors are dark green and crimson...caitians are not blue or grey and ferasans are not dark green or crimson
faction color has no bearing on factional cat fur color
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.

Neither do Caitains/Ferasans... They don't bring in profit... remove them from the game.
Your missions don't bring in profit. They should be removed.

nobody cares.
Not only do people care, you care enough to comment on it.
this is what happens to those people.

If you can get past the anime aspect of the two Caitian's posted, the Manes need to happen, and the hair, that wouldn't be a bad idea either.
