A thousand times yes! This sort of content would be spectacular! I (perhaps uniquely)rather enjoyed exploring New Romulus during its first few months, since it teased at exactly that kind of content.
I know that in a lot of ways combat-based content is much easier to make, but missions focusing on tough and impactful choices, contact and negotiation, and an exciting and varied exploration system would, of course, be both fitting and awesome.
The best Foundry missions I've played have been ones which have focused on investigation and inquiry rather than combat. (The foundry mission "The Good of the Many", if I'm remembering its name correctly, is a spectacular example of this!)

I think it is a big mistake for STO to go in the direction of fighting the Iconians. They are an extinct species and do not exist any longer. Anyone who says they have found evidence of their continued existance is clearly an undine posing as an officer trying to undermine Federation, KDF, and Republic efforts.

It would be better for Cryptic to continue focusing on the KDF and Federation war in order for both factions to be weaker militarily, that way it would be easier for an invasion on a massive scale to divide and conquer. Not that it would be from the Iconians, because as previous said they are extinct and nothing more than myth and rumor.

Continue killing each other. If you do see the Iconians (which you won't since they no longer exist), tremble before them.
Heh. I just had to quote this one. :)

My experiences with open-world PvP has been nothing but painful. Getting ganked by a level 50 player in a Kumari or Scimitar while you're just bopping around (pun may or may not be intended) in sector space is not what this game needs right now. Sorry.

Hrmmm, I don't think you're being a jerk by saying that...and I'm the guy that asked what happened to the PvP stuff that was mentioned for S8 2-3 pages back.

There's no denying that STO is a PvE game. It's the foundation of the game - it's the story of the game. Open World PvP simply doesn't make sense for STO. Federation folks wouldn't be jumping other Federation folks and even the Klingons/Romulans would have to deal with political repercussions of doing so.

This is where the reply somebody offered to what I said about EVE Online might have come in handy - different game world, different game story, different game...a good game for that kind of thing.

For most folks, the "War" that took place was over long ago. The Federation and Klingon Empire (as well as the Romulans) are all working together against various "outside" threats.

However, much like players can "go back in time" to replay missions, replay STFs, etc, etc, etc..there is replay with PvP. Instanced PvP - fits in just like all the rest of the instanced gameplay that exists in STO. Some folks overlook that we're playing on a server named...Holodeck. :)

So yeah, I don't think you were being a jerk in the least...open world PvP just doesn't fit STO.

Have you spent any time in Kerrat???
It always has ppl in there and they give away mk12 stuff as loot as a bonus for killing PVE content in a pvp zone . . . .

How simple is that ?? Make more zones like kerrat and use Multiple spawn points pls!!!!!! like if I capture a point I can spawn there (battlefield 1942 Style)

PVP is the ONLY reason I play this game getting into a 10v10 is amazing and even if something like a 1000v1000 were to happen like what can happen in EVE I will play this game until I die !!!!!!!!!~

DS9 has AMAZING space battles and the build up of the invasion of Cardasia was the BIGGEST disappointment of my life !!!!

I voted enterprise because I Loved the Fleet battles and the ACTION

Thank you D`Stahl, for your enthusiastic Words and thank you all for bringing and giving us so many new doings... ah, and thank you, after the 4th-5th try of your E-Mail Patch before a few weeks gives my In-Game Mail finally to work fine ( im still missing a Button "Clear all Messages"), but, its still enough!

I have no objections if you bring new Maps, new Worlds to Discover and play but, every Weeek you give us either a new Reputation, or a new Fleet Base Project, or a new Map wheres something to play and winning a "Big Prize". Or you bring a new Lock Box Ship or a new C-Store Ship (i haven`t play either with the one and theres now a new, maybe better Ship available), new Doff Packages (and some of those with Powers we don`t need for PvP so they still OP) or something, that steal my "real playtime"! Im sitting the 90% of my time to farm and Grind Dilithium and Marks, to buy and Test all that new Items! Thats just not possible.

This Game is a PAY TO WIN Game and you Guys doing all to sack up more money. I`m sick and tired of it.

So please, Stop that, it is obvious you just need only our Money or i see you broken this Game so much and in a few years you all losse your Jobs and no Man come play STO.

Oh, and i`ts true , some of our Guys in my Fleet have quitt STO. They don`t see any change to come to this level some other players are, with all that Consoles, Boff`s and Doff`s we have, the reputation Tiers... Risas event to Win the Ship, Where should they find the time to do all this?

I voted Voyager for the largely untapped potential that it offers.

    PvE:
    - I'd like to see one or more space STFs against the Undine. I know that Terradome used to run but that's a hybrid mission if I remember correctly.
    - More rewards for Foundry gameplay!

    PvP:
    - New maps and/or mission types would not go astray.

    Storyline:
    - Repercussions for the Romulan Republic for proliferating Thalaron weapons.
    - What have the Cardassians been doing since the rise of the Romulan Republic?

    Exploration:
    - The region between the Sol system and the Ferengi Alliance was once mentioned in an interview with a Dev as a possibility for being created, not with any featured episodes or missions in mind, but just for exploration and Foundry missions. What happened to that?

    Customization:
    - Be able to set uniforms on your crew, or even just to be able to pick from several templates.
    - Unique interior layouts for each ship class. The Engineering deck on an Oddyssey shouldn't be the same as on a Miranda.
    - Appropriate bridges to match the ships of allied races (eg. Orion bridge for Orion ships, not Klingon bridges). More than one generic Warbird bridge!

    Ships:
    - KDF could probably use a Klingon-made science vessel, available at level 40 with a Fleet variant.
    - Many KDF players have called for a new T5 Raptor. This is an opportunity for a 3-pack escort similar to the Federation's Andorian ships. 4/3 weapons, 5 Tactical consoles.
    - A new Vulcan ship for the Federation would be nice, possibly based on the Surok-class.

    Equipment:
    - Phasers and Disruptors are used by many races, not just the Federation and KDF. Some variant weapons with different visual effects (space and ground), possibly even having slightly different procs, would be nice.
Forget the possibility of PvP, for so much has become pay-to-win, never to be balanced. Forget the promise of exploration and research, for in the grim dark future of Star Trek Online there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting publishers.

actually if you have done the reputation on one character you have done it on all of them. id rather unlock these as a player(account wide) than as a character. I would go as far as let me just unlock everything once and allow me to claim on any character, however just having the tiers unlocked account wide would be an improvement.
    I agree with that mentality.

It would also be better if the items were account bound.

I'm thinking Voth for the new enemy group. They have mentioned them before and their stuff is massive and would make a good space adventure zone.

I selected voyager as even though I much prefer the DS9/TNG stuff, it has been done a lot. Most of voyager is untouched for obvious reasons so I think opening up the delta quadrant would be a good move. Lots and lots of races and stories to use.

ah yeah..... the pvp rep/season... shouldn't it be that?
i bet on another overpowered minifaction and more overpowered to broken stuff... i don't really think they'll get it.
i do think they will release more and more overpowered/broken pve-stuff until pvp becomes unplayable at all.

at least this would go in line with the progression we had till now.
plz proove me being wrong :(...

just make one season to balance things. bring klinks and feds on par with rommies (better nerf roms than buffing the others).
rework/buff old fed and klink c-store ships and i swear, you again will sell lots of more of them. the ships need to be on par to each other, not leaving just some viable ships. most c-store ships are almost totally obsolete these days (-->fleet/lockbox....)
u first said: no 10-console-c-store-ships... now u keeping to introduce nothing but those, so plz get it: ur digging your own ground. let there be a choice dahell and don't let become work u already did obsolete.
"buy a t3-ship to boost your t5-ship (but nvm, both are TRIBBLE) to enable you to buy the fleet-ship to....? but wait: just buy our newest, most op ship from c-store and your fine"...

and just do something like u did with rommie-advertising. that could lead to increased klink player numbers.
actually in the long run i only see rommies left in pvp :(

The upcoming stuff sounds pretty awesome. That concept art is intriguing, to say the least.

I voted for Enterprise, because it's by far the most underrated series and deserves much more attention. And I'm still holding out hope for an NX-class interior, both for my ship and for use in the Foundry. Besides, we have a ton of DS9/TNG/VOY stuff in the game already.

A story where we time-travel to the Earth/Romulan War of the late 2150s would be epic. :D

A Brilliant idea sir! I LIKE it! Though i voted TOS as my fave, both the Earth/Romulan War and the Earth/Xindi War are both prime settings for new adventures.

On another note, i agree there should be an NX-class bridge/interior. But how many times will we have to pay for it? Players who got the TOS Connstitution have to buy the bridge/interior as a separate item or as part of the TOS Bundle, and also cough up the 1,000 EC to put the TOS bridge/interior on their TOS Connstitution. Why this is (still) so when more and more of the 'elite' ships have them (thankfully) included as their default is a sore point for me and i imagine the other TOS fans in the STO community.

PS - I fully support a T6 Nova, fixing the Nova skins. I am also rooting for a T6 Science Cruiser, that can use Nova/Rhode Island skins.
T6 Nova/Rhode Island, T6 Oberth & T6 Constellation are needed. Also needed a T6 Science Cruiser, that can wear any Science or Cruiser skin.

What I want to see next, doesn't come from any of the series.

How about decent bridges styled Constitution-Refit, Excelsior, Ambassador, Constellation, Miranda (and not the Miranda bridges we have now.....)?

My Excelsior is flying a Sovereign bridge, which is about 3 times too large for the dome on my Saucer. Same for my Ambassador.

Would love them to either come with some ZEN ships (such as Excelsior), maybe available for ships as Constitution-refit and leave them out for Galaxy's and so on, or possible a new bridge bundle which contains them all.

What I'd like is, if they are NOT going to release any more bridges in the c-store or along with new ships (which aside from a looong break, then a poorly received attempt on the Andorian escort, and the Scimmy bridge (which I havent seen), but still no bridge packs for years.) then they need to open up the Foundry system in a way that allows authors to create custom bridges. They can be screened by Cryptic just like the current missions are, and then people can really *choose* what they want, and if the feel really energetic, put the effort in and create something truly personal.

Anyway... I see that as the easiest way of ending the stream of no-personalization no-custom bridges complaints, and since Cryptic isnt trying to make money off them anyways... why not?

 DS9 is winning over ENT!!

    Oh whyyy?

Voyager is going to win, but this disgraceful loss!

    Seriously?

Does anyone think that people are just voting DS9, because they like it? I am struggling to find a post saying why people voted DS9. I certainly think so! And I think they a ruining a chance that Cryptic will do anything with ENT, they will now do it with DS9!

The following is a joke (kinda):

By improvements to the Rep system, they mean add another one! :D

The poll ends when it receives 1701 votes.
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

Since it seems Voyager will win that poll, I wonder if perhaps later (like in Season 9 or later), we might seem more of the Animated Series species.

In particular, I'd like to see the Skorr, along with the currently unnamed races that Sord and Em/3/Green came from, as well as Lara's (all seen in "The Jihad") :D They'd certainly require interesting discussions about what they'd look like in the game's graphics.
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

Don't know why everyone is trying to guess the enemy from the Delta Quadrant it's obviously going to be the Hirogen for a few reasons

    1. There already been introduced in game
    2. There from the Delta Quadrent
    3. Cryptic won't have to make new ships skins as we already have Hirogen toons and ships for them to use.

The Poll is a decent idea I voted TNG but would have loved to choose TOS and DS9 as well.
Glad the iconions storyline could be getting advanced but it's a pity a new winter event is not being created and is just going to be like last years while good I was only on it enough to get my breen ship and very rarely did other things hopefully there will be more to do rather than race and hit snowmen with snowballs

I honestly still think it's going to be Species 8472; aka, the Undine.

Hirogen, you say? Nah; they were a pest, and aggressive, but already on the verge of 'transcending' towards something more meaningful than 'the hunt.' And primarily so, because they are nomadic, and realized they couldn't go on like that, lest they all perish sooner or later. Besides, you can't launch a full galactic conquest without a solid realm/home planet of your own.

Let's face it, Species 8472 was the *only* truly, devastatingly deadly enemy in Voyager. They whooped the Borg's sorry *ss in a New York minute, and were -- rightly so -- considered an extreme threat to our entire universe. That we quickly 'kissed and made up' detracts nothing from their innate deadliness.

And the Voth?! People, c'mon, get serious! For one, the Voth did not appear to possess truly superior technology. But more importantly, the Voth emphatically disavowed even stemming from Earth (see: Distant Origin). Last thing they'd ever want to do is visit the planet they originated from, when they're still heftily in denial about it -- let alone have plans to conquer us.

I am happy to hear that devs have plans for the future (and voted ds9)
but would be far more pleased to see data management issues taken care of before that

You took a prototyping development strategy, why not...
as this disable a real quality management, we, players, are the one doing the testing
finding bugs you are abble to fix and you do so

Problem still is that those software bugs induce data corruptions that does not seems
    to be adressed

Since LOR started, I build a reman and a romulan and both are bugged:
bad reverse pointers lists mainly, for the ground status screen list of current ships and boffs
and for the outfits list filled up with extra outfits and uniforms far beyond character's
    normal allocation.

That lowers my confidence in the game stability so much that I don't dare to buy the scimitar
or use all my allowance of outfits completely, leaving an open slot just in case

If background data maintenance checking is a too big and too complicated process to run,
at least give us tools to fix things as an outfits delete button for example
or a rebuild list button with an associated save list button...

Now perhaps Devs have no access to these matters, all depends on Cryptic's organisation:
if systems engineers are in the production dept and engine specialists are in another dept,
maybe Devs have no rights to adress directly data base issues for their game, only to write next
season or event build using available engine functions and primitives

If this is the case please forward this post to system, database and engine specialists depts

I been dyin for a new story season, wasteland SUCKED. I voted TNG but as long as they steer clear of TOS I will be happy. Its great to see all this speculation flyin around, this type of new is what keeps this game interesting, and to all those people tripping over "More Rep to Grind" they just said they was gonna edit the rep system so it may be a more interesting setup after this. Either way I hate grinding, but If you drop more space sets and ground sets that would be great. A mark 12 breen set might interest somebody to (Not me but somebody). :D

So the Star Trek version of the Voth not the Defiance one (they are like the Xindi). Not bad. I wouldn't mind the dinosaur like aliens also seen in Voyager. Kind of like a really uprated Gorn. Remember that episode where they took real dinosaur in the holodeck and let it mature to 24th century specs....those things would be sweet to take down. They came back for revenge on Earth and her partners since they believe that the meteor was no accident and we are responsible for their exodus.

Plus the ancient race on New Romulus, I wouldn't mind them being an ancient conquering race that got exterminated by the surrounding species to survive from impending invasion. Or have it where the Vulcans destroyed these Proto-Romulans because they split off from the home world. Kind of like the Jedi exterminated the Sith in the old republic and they came back for revenge.
