I guess they were upset that some people were able to run it twice in an hour
or it could be because someone on the team read that people were doing one length of the race, dropping it and restarting it for more money. though if that were the case they should have only put the cool down it if you drop it in the middle of the race, similar to pve content.

i have been on STO for a little over 10 months, and in that time completed the full tour some 67-70 times, only quitting when they nerfed the ability to complete the tour even once, which must have upset their intent to block repeated racing and shorter route exploits. That single act alone led the less scrupulous players to find such loopholes and maximize profits (from the avg 1.3 mil up to almost 4 mil ec per hour) even further.
i cannot help they could not figure out a way to code out the ability to collect more ec than they intended to dole out without pooching the entire event for every member, but this has gone a long way from enhancing a players experience by giving them a chance to improve at a more comfortable rate than other events, that is your loss for not discovering it.
i feel cheated as i always followed the preferred map route to gain my ec and earned enough to boost my ship to be able to finish it in under 17 minutes, so i could do 3.2 tours per event, once a week. now i don't race at all but it will now take me a week to earn as much in 4-6 hrs of racing as i used to make in 1 hr. my fast ship has now been retired to the mothball fleet as i see no further use for it, that is unless you want to purchase it for an astronomical amount.
Hey a captain has to make a living! Hope you enjoy grinding more each day to eek out a measily pennance for your toiling.

hay i knew about the loop hole, but personally never used it. when i was racing i always went the whole course, my best was about 2.5 runs in allotted time. i was just pointing out why they could have done it. though i wish they could have done it differently.

oh, and now after that aug 2nd patch, they also reduced the amount of ec earned on each leg of the run, so we no longer get 350k ec either! only got 30k in the first three sections following the recommended map path.
as Lando Calrisian once said "this deal just keeps getting better and better." (for cryptic and pwe that is)

I'm always bewildered by the incredibly short-sightedness of the marketing folks at PWE. They have ppl spending hundreds of dollars on this game; but, oh no, we must begrudge them their measly bit if EC they are able to draw from the Tour! I mean, I've never done the thing myself, but if ppl found a way to be so good at it as to be able to run it multiple times, why not let them?! Why engender so much ill-will towards your customers!? The only thing they accomplish is make ppl loathe PWE even more. Just thought of a new, faux Rule for the occassion:
Rules of Acquisition 289: Latinum in your eye makes you blind.
ive gotta say i chose voyage because the races now know there's more out there then in the delta quadrant so they would be encouraged to explore like what happened when Sela set up a deal with the hirogens.
that being said that is just game content for me, as for the game itself id still like to see the cap of dilithium rise from 8 to 10 thousand as we are in more need to use it on various things in the game now.
@ the poll: ToS for sure. Not so much in-show ships as just ships from that(pre-movie) era. I'm sick of seeing Connies and Mirandas, let's see what other 23rd-century ships looked like. Their carriers, their escorts, their dreadnoughts, etc.
Considering the Constitution class were the pinnacle starship (only 12 like it in the fleet) you may wait one long time
I think having more stuff from voyager would be a fantastic idea. We can send all the noobs away for the 75 year trek and let them do it in real time that way they are out of the queues and such. then you can pug again knowing they wont be in there, fantastic idea I say lol
and how do we base who is a n00b? I was part of the first beta. shall we consider anyone non-beta n00bs?I would far rather play with people in game a year that some troll who thinks he is the best of the best of the best.. with honors. maybe if you are so damn good you think you are elite and everyone else are n00bs to be banished you should not play 70 hours a week, get out of mommys basement and figure out what life really is about

I'm amazed at the complaints about a necro which is only 5 hours 53 minutes past 30 days....
Actually it was more than 30 days before (see dates for 551 and 552), but are DEV threads subject to the necro rules? And is it a hard 30 day rule to the exact minute or more of a guideline?

Why wasn't TAS (The Animated Series) put up there?
I'd really like an Edosian/Edoan as a playable race or a BoFF.

I actually like Delta Rising.

Wow, your first forum post, congratulations.
