    Yes cheating is wrong

    And immoral

but we aren't discussing the 40 odd people gene had an affair with

a starfleet cadet does not flirt her way to the top and Uhura the character would NEVER do so

Spock as a vulcan would report her rather than respond

I was actually mentioning how Captain Kirk cheated to graduate from the academy...you dont seem to have an issue with that.

A'ite, I think we're being trolled. I'm OUT! Gonna go watch all these immoral reprobates do horrible sins in, like 40 minutes. Sollvax' authoritative, moralistic denouncements can only heighten my enjoyment at this point.

Because they had contracted a disease that they thought there was no cure until the Doctor created it.

Btw, Sulu wasn't written as a Japanese character, only as being of oriental.

NORTH Korea, does not recognize the USA. SOUTH Korea does however. I would know seeing as I lived in South Korea back when STO first came out... trust me, when North Korea fires rockets on an island just a few miles west of you, you know there are two different Koreas.

the Picards seem to be half English but thats not the point

    Sulu is Japanese
Koreans are not Japanese and making out they are insults both peoples

and a girl who "puts out" for grades is a TRIBBLE
A man who gives out the grades is actually a criminal (breach of regulations is the least of it)
No student at the academy is allowed to have a relationship with an instructor Ever
and also spock is clearly much much older and a different species

its a bit like me dating a small kitten

The Japanese people (not the natives) originated from Korea after the paleolithic era.

Kirk is a teenage boy in this version (and possibly still has zits)
its not kirk im complaining about (although he is unfit for command and clearly needs 15 years in maximum security)
he should however be almost twice as old as chekov

as to women he did not try and kiss etc spocks mom

Kirk is not a teenage boy.

Weed is not illegal globally. In fact just these past two years, it has been legalized for recreational use in Colorado... however not for medicinal use. Go figure.

You should brush up on how many Kpop stars get busted for weed and nothing happenes to them after they profess an 'apology'.

You are not old-fashioned, you're just judgemental. As for Japanese and Koreans, if you don't know the difference in how Japanese-asians and korean-asians view Japanese-americans and Korean-americans, then it's understandble how you've come to your rather 'black and white' and short-sited conclusion.

medical malpractice deliberately faking records etc

    .
he promoted a teenage idiot to command a starship over 400 better qualified officers?

the proper kirk was sexist sometimes but he was never a brute

parking brake joke alone should get JJ slapped
as well as casting a korean as a Japanese person (and its a race not a nationality American is a nationality)

also why does EVERYONE have to be a comedy spoof?
Galaxy Quest was closer to trek than this

IT's a FICTIONAL MOVIE. Go watch the film footage of the original crew in the space movie EVENT HORIZON if you want something to be holier than thou about. :)

No it's not that simple. Flirting doesn't make anyone look like a TRIBBLE. How can you think that?
but she specifically and directly uses it to get promotion

She got a reassignment (from the Farragut ... btw, mad props to the writers for that TOS nod ... to the Enterprise) not a promotion. There's a huge difference.

I posted this on the previous page.

Now, folks. Let's avoid namecalling and personal attack, shall we? In the last few pages, we've gone from talking about the film to arguing about politics and race and such. Let's try to get back on topic.

    I fully agree

North and South Korea are recognized by the entire world as two separate countries. That's taught in every history class worldwide with the possible exception of North Korea.

My main problem was destroying Romulus and Vulcan. Destroying Romulus ruined the prime universe, making it so we get a Romulan refugee faction instead of RSE. Also with Vulcan gone in the JJ universe that will probably limit what they can do there. It doesn't really make sense either, even with Spock being a logical Vulcan, I don't see how he or any of the other Vulcans could remain sane afterwards, they should end up becoming like Nero.

Actually I find it stranger that there would only be 50,000 Vulcans left. I would think there would be many millions serving on starships and living on planets across the entire Federation.

As per the destruction of Romulus, this is where we end up with somewhat weird definitions for all the factions that oppose the Federation - they are "empires" that consist of only one race that we've ever seen. If they're so large, not only should they have many more races, but they should have many more inhabited planets to use, unless they somehow decided to deliberately forgo any systems with Class M worlds, inhabited or uninhabited. I would classify the destruction of Romulus as akin to a few major cities in a large country (physically, economically and in terms of population) being destroyed - catastrophic but very survivable, and with economic and social repairs largely made within a few decades. While I'm aware many of them are deliberately portrayed as extreme xenophobes, this does not explain why they wouldn't have considerable resources on these other planets, possibly exterminating or enslaving the natives.
