Where are all The feddies?? Do you PvP in STO?

What % of Feds PvP on a regular basis? What percent PvP ever?

Feds out number KDF at least 4 to 1 in the game - but in the PvP Q's - for Fed vs KDF it is usually 1 fed waiting and 5 KDF waiting.

So if you are a Fed why don't you come out and play with the KDF?

Have you ever joined Instanced PvP(the Q's - vs Ker'rat)?

Have you given up PvP?

You don't like PvP?

Other reasons?

Also added any suggestion you might think that would get you interested - or to come back?

The only time I PvP is when someone in one of my Fleets want to do some type of cross-fleet event, or if someone is looking to test a build. Other then that I avoid PvP like the plague.

As for why, I have no desire to put the man-hours into perfecting any particular build. I don't want to go to Tribble and respec a dozen times just to find the most bang for the buck. I also don't want to have to memorize every ability and every counter ability. I don't want to hunt for Doffs to maximum and worry about my gear. Those are the types of things you need to do if you want to be even moderately OK at PvP.

I prefer to treat a game like a game, not a second job that I need to master.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Feds consider kerrat as a farming place. Of course it's easy to smoke most of them. :D

I've been around since beta and I've pvp'd quite often. The thing though is it's not really my cup of tea and it's why I tend to not do it unless it's a fun event or something.

But I have done every type of pvp in STO (including the short lived instant pvp action stuff we had on tribble) and I tend to enjoy ground (I know I know) more thana space which is hard to get people to do sometimes. :(

I always wanted Ker'rat to be switched to a Neutral zone - with only the Borg as the enemy - which makes sense.

I think a lot of Feds get turned off of PvP with the KDF with what goes on there.

From what I have seen from playing both sides is that most Feds that PvP hit the FvF queues.

Since I don't get to play often during the week for extended time. My time is spent on PVE. I had my fill of on-line PVP on the MMO I played before this one. So I don't really care if I get to PVP anymore.

Oh yes when I see one of the sissies telling in zone chat "please don't kill me i'm farming", it's likely i pick him as my primary target. :P

Oh but that just means we get even more aggressive, then they start freaking out so we focus on them exclusively until we drive them from the zone.

I always end up shaking my head when someone starts freaking out because we are interrupting their farming. There are easier ways to farm, expect to die if you come to Kerrat, prepare to suffer if you whine about it.

Been around for a loooong time now, and did pvp for the first time in probably a couple of years. I was surprised by how well I seemed to do standing my own.

I do wish that the pvp was stronger throughout the game with greater diversity throughout. For example, a revamped kerrat (no glitchy borg) as well as more kdf v fed interaction in pvp equivalents of the sorties.

I am worried that this type of attitude and this type of play in Ker'rat is what keeps many Feds out of the FvK Q's

I would much rather them make Ker'rat a neutral zone where Feds can farm free if they want - and instead have the Q's pop on a much faster and more consitent basis.

As someone pointed out most of the Feds are doing FvF - maybe they have been scared off of FvK PvP

This needs to change or PvP is dead in STO(more so for the KDF)

I PvP almost every single day. But it's in private queues. The public queues aren't that reliable. If you're interested in PvP you should check out the community/sub forum, do the boot camp thing, and get into the channels and stuff and get your PvP on. Waiting around for Public PUG queues is boring.

Yeah I guess - but then its a sad state of the PvP.

I was in a match today that made me worried. We go in and right from the start just vaporized the Feds there - it was more than a slaughter - it was horrific - and they were trying.

15/0 - but even worse at the end none of them got above 15k dmg.

I actually felt bad because i wondered how many of them would try FvK again.

PVP for the sake of bragging rights like it is here is pointless to most people. If there was an actual incentive to do it, like territory control with actual benefits from controlling whatever territory then I think you'd see a whole lot more people doing it.

PvP has never been a big interest to me in any MMO. It's not my preferred way to play and by and large the 'PvP community' in most games annoy me.

I would rather team up and try to beat the most challenging content the game has to offer. I DO occasionally PvP, but not much.

    (I have a Fed and a Klink)

Most of them do that for the dailies and dil. Don't worry. They will be back.

I play both sides and have no interest in PvP. I especially have little interest on Fed side, because I just don't find that being the target for a bunch of stealthed rogues, er, cloaked Klinks, is really that entertaining for any one but the stealthed rogues.

When LoR gets here then both sides can skulk around cloaked, hopefully never finding each other for hours at a time. That'll be fun.

Honestly, look at this thread. It's mostly a bunch of KDF players slapping each other on the back telling each other how brave and cool they are for killing people who aren't interested in PvP in the first place.

It's sad in a way that's obvious to every one but the people doing it.

You know in instanced PvP - in the Q's - at least 80% plus of the KDF don't use cloak - or at most only at the openning engagement - which is easy to counter because you know they are coming.

After the match gets going I rarely see fellow KDF teammates cloak - they want you to come get them and know where they are.

Had not done PvP in ages when i saw some comment in the klingon section. Klingons boasting about making feds cry.

So i entered, got jumped by 5 klingon campers, released theta cloud + trico, punched evasive + rom 5 ability and cleaned up what was left.

The klingons won eventually with 15-10, but i got my 8 total kills.

The thing which generally turns me off with PvP is the 1-trick pony called advanced battle cloak. It's going rampant in PvP and is just generally annoying.

It can be countered, but it's just annoying. I don't play to be annoyed and so i stick with STFE, missions and foundry.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

If you are not interested in pvp you should not be in a open pvp area like Karat anyway. Anyone telling pvper's not to blow them up in a the only pvp zone in the game should be blown up. Pve'rs have plenty of things to do, they shouldn't be trying ruin the fun of pvp players.

In all fairness, most Feds go into Kerrat because they're just following a Mission Chain at level 6/7. They're not anticipating getting spawn-camped from the moment they arrive in the zone. They think they're just going in there to pew-pew some Borg and they end up getting blown to pieces even before they get to look around the zone. I had enough spawn-camping in Eve, thank-you-very-much. :)

The problem with Kerrat is that it's one of the only few places you can fight Borg before you're level 43ish and going into Gamma O. It's fun to get a taste of the Borg there - as the Tutorial Borg are a complete joke.

I don't PvP so much these days; and when I do, it's usually on the ground. I'll probably get back into it once LoR comes out; it'll give me a chance to experiment a bit.

I think more KDF need to do what I do at Kerrat, try to ignore the Feds that are there just to pvp, and go straight for all the farmers causing the instance to reset every 5 minutes and ruining our fights. Sometimes I'm able to stop the farming by myself, but usually there are too many farmers and some always slip by and eventually destroy the facility. It doesn't happen often, but when we are able to completley shut the farming down you are left with a very fun instance full of non stop PVP and not having to worry about having your alpha interuptted by the stupid reset.

When you get the eventual complaints from farmers just tell them to queue up for FvK more, if we are kept busy there we are less likely to be in kerrat shutting the farming down.

    THIS 100X this

This is why I think Ker-joke - should be made a neutral zone - Feds start the game going to Ker'rat and don't have to face any KDF for 20 lvls!! - Then whammo it become an open PvP - where there are lots of KDF players with months or years under their belt running low level character blowing up Feds as long as they can or to level a new toon.

This and all the spawn camping by both sides just turns most feds off PvP with the KDF - which is sad and makes PvP Q's at end game ghost towns.

Dev's PLEASE make Ker'rat - LvL 50 arena PvP ONLY!! Or a Cease fire farming zone.

Tried it, expecting to lose for being new to it. Didn't disappoint when jumped by 4 guys and lasted not quite 30 seconds on my longest life once the shooting started. Really what am I supposed to do with that many people coordinating and unloading on me? However then came all the insulting PMs. Completely unnecessary, just poor sportsmanship. Pricks.

Tried again a few days later. Different people, same slaughter, same attitude after the fact.

A few days later, give it a third try. See above.

I knew I was going to lose, but I expected the people involved to behave like adults, not poster-children for GIFT. Based on that and so many comments around here of snobs who talk down to anyone not part of their little club, TRIBBLE it. Having to associate with such people simply isn't worth my time.

Ah, humanity. At one time we used to brag about killing a furry elephant with a sharpened stick to feed our clan/tribe. Now we brag about how good we are at sitting at a desk drinking cola or beer and pushing a computer button. How far we have fallen. :)
