I dont get why foundry authors were upset. If people wanted to play your missions then they would. I dont want to, I never have and I wont.

Either way, someone will find a work around again, it will only take time.

Don't worry - since they killed the Fed side B'Tran daily - I am sure some of those daily KDF missions are up soon to be removed - if they don't they could have a very nasty Fed side revolt on their hands. And they won't be moving over to the KDF - they will be moving on - and before they do there will be a Fed Hissy fit here on the forums of EPIC scale - so expect a KDF nerf VERY SOON.

i thought these missions are all available on the UFP too?

and i have read they want to change the b'tran to have a similar mission to New Romulus reputation patrol mission.. ?

And even if, there is the "sortie" which would be the analogy on the KDF side..

Anyway, i'm abandoning the starbase project completely - changing to a bigger fleet where i will not even have the opportunity to donate a thing, getting back to old PVP playing, will try the new fleet missions, the new borg queen STF, new romulus missions.. so long that is going to be entertaining.

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised.

Can easily imagine by Season 8, we will be charged Dilithium to actually play the game.

There is a lot of "if" in the details of what counts. Basically, the entire intent of the change will be undermined if folks simply figure out the way to make a mission count without taking more than 10 minutes to play.

If that is the case, we'll have a brand new round of "clickies 2.0," and all of the grinders will still just ignore the real Foundry missions.

They are on a mad dash for rocks. Given the choice to do something painfully repetitive and boring for 10 minutes compared to something exciting and fun for 45 isn't a hard choice for them.

We need NW's timer based rewards system. Otherwise we'll probably see a new version of "clickies 2.0"

The issue is - you cant beat the min-maxers. No matter what system thy implement, players will discover a way to make the most return for the last investment, EVEN WHEN NeverWinter launches that will be the case.

In the end, those that want to play Foundry missions for the story, the fact Foundry authors have more latitude with the IP (IE CBS doesn't have to approve their stuff, and people who like a story won't report it if it does violate the EULA/TOS.) or whatever. Those that just want to use the Foundry for 1440 Dilithium Ore and 50 Fleet Marks will use a 'min-maxer' mission exclusively, just to get the rewards, and still won't bother with the more in depth or story based Foundry missions.

The closing of something we all knew was an exploit won't drive those that just wanted to use said exploit to play (or rate) other stuff on the Foundry.

In fact I think giving extra rewards for spotlighted missions will just ensure non-spotlighted missions get played much less (if at all in the long run, statistically); an if you don't have 5 friends or a number of Fleet mates behind you, getting a mission out of 'review status' will be even harder, but time will tell.
