Unless the devs release the 1000 day veteran reward Blog tomorrow or Thursday, then doing the MU Wells/Korath or regular universe Mobius/Krenn seems like a giant middle finger to those 1000 day vets that get the Temporal ships. Personally, I think the ship is some 25th Century ship that looks cool.

Not necessarily. You'd still benefit from the lockbox consoles.
Not necessarily. You'd still benefit from the lockbox consoles.
Say I purchase the Mobius Temporal Destroyer and the regular universe version is the 1000 day vet reward. I just wasted 800 Lobi Crystals or millions of EC on a ship I got for free. 800 Lobi Crystals could have purchased the entire Temporal Space Set and the Temporal Jumpsuit. Assuming the Space Set costs 200 Lobi Crystals each and the jumpsuit costs 200 or less Lobi Crystals.
Or I go through a ton of lockboxes or spend millions of EC for the Wells Class ship and the 1000 day vet reward is the mirror universe version of a Wells Class ship. Now I actually wasted $ on buying lockboxes that I don't need. The lockbox consoles are not worth it.
If the devs announce that the 1000 day vet reward before the Temporal Lockbox is released, then the only way we would be screwed is if we don't pay attention.
Besides, I want something that is unique and interesting for the 1000 day vet reward not something that has been done before. While the temporal ships are interesting, they are no longer unique.
I'm wondering if it might be an alien ship of some sort. Maybe a Romulan vessel since we'll be getting some new Romulan content in the next season. That might be kind of fun. As pyryck pointed out, 16 days until we find out! If it turns out to be a gold-colored Miranda (the equivalent of the uniform variant) I'll be really disappointed. If it's a Borg cube I'll probably explode with joy. Boy would those be confusing in space combat situations!
If they handle it like they did the 900 day Reward we probably won't see a Blog about it until after October 4th. That gives the earliest recipients about a week to prepare.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Yes but does not mean we can't get some more clues,
I am just hoping its something good that "most" people will find useful, i also hope it has some "OMG how did you get that" reaction.
Sure you have people saying "if the 1000 vet reward is ...... i am going to quit", what they need to understand is that people have put a bit of money into getting it and they are free to do it as well.
It's like the lock boxes, i don't play them but want the ships, I understand that i could get the ships if i really wanted too (exchange and spending money on keys) But I am not going to quit because i can't justify spending around $80 in keys to trade on the exchange, i accept it and move on.
I don't think it will be a combat vessel, imho it's more likely that it's a pink tuffli variant (without exchange and crafting access).
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
Per my account info, I got 15 more days until I reach 1000 days on my life-time subscription. Hopefully before then we'll have more news as to what the rewards will be.
If it was a T5 connie, how angry do you think folks would be?
Very, very, very; which is why it won't be anything much asked for.

My opinion is that if a T5 Connie is ever added which I hope it never will happen, it would be a C-Store ship or a ship from some mission or event. The 1000 day vet reward should be a ship that is cool for most people not for a select group of players. In my opinion, it should be cool enough that people want to get a lifetime subscription to get it eventually.
I just hope that we get something worthy of our commitment.
I do not want to see a re-skin of a ship in game. I want them to actually put some time and effort into rewarding those players who kept Cryptics head above water with their lifetime subs at the the beginning and their continued investment during the f2p days, because, to be honest, the previous "rewards" were just awful. I mean what the hell do you want a cartoon monkey following you around for.
Give us a new ship class, make it something that is a head turner and REWARD us.
I just hope that we get something worthy of our commitment.
What commitment? I bought an LTS pre-launch. Financially, it broke even at month 16. I am now on month 32. I have played the last 16 months for free and they have given me 11 Stipends since December. I haven't put much commitment into it. If the game continues 3 more years they will have paid me in Stipend what I paid for my LTS.

Regardless of what the ship is, there will be someone unhappy with it in some way or another.
"It's a CRUISER!... but I wanted an Escort... " (details what they wanted instead)
"The boffs slots are bad" (details what they wanted instead)
"The console slots are bad" (details what they wanted instead)
[any and all combinations of the above]
What if the stats were more generalised?
like:
Lt Com Tac
Lt Com Eng
Lt Come Sci
Com Universal?
What if:
You chose what ship you wanted to be your Exclusive Variant, and that ship's hull, stats and such would then be leveling? Thus allowing your captain to run their carreer in a single ship.
Examples: Miranda class - Veteran Retroft
K'tanco class Veteran Retrofit.
This would allow for T5 Connies also if so desired

It doesn't matter what they give us, most folks will call it a "Fail Boat" and name it the USS Slap in the Face.
Even it was some super mega ship the rest of the non-LTS community would call it a P2W ship because we paid for the LTS.

I'm in the same situation here. I got more than my fair share of service quite some time ago when compared to those paying month to month.
Anything I get without paying from this point on is a bonus.
Though, on a side note, I am hoping for something a little different in the unique ship reward. But if it does happen to be some tarted up old ship I won't whine too loudly.

Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
I'll have to pass on the "Excalibur" shown here as it just doesn't appeal to me.
I was thinking maybe it's time to bring in something like the Kelvin from JJTrek? A single nacelle type of escort/frigate with phaser turrets instead of beam arrays. Something old school for all of us old-school vets?
Comments
Maybe. Maybe they're separate timeships and we'll see Mirror Wells/Korath and regular Mobius/Krenn.
They're not laid out like standard Mirror ships, which are typically the same class with a different BO station and hull.
I think regular universe Mobius/Krenn and Mirror Wells/Korath seem perfectly doable.

would be really Cool if we got a Romulan BOP

I'll pass on the Tuffli...already got one and definitely don't need another in some other color.
Only slightly angry because there's no victory dance emote.
Speaking of which hey Cryptic why don't we have one of those?

If that' the case, I want a T5 version of the Merchantman they kept blowing up throughout Star Trek's history since "The Search For Spock".

Yeah, the unique console could be "flashy explosion".

I actually wouldnt mind that... theyre probably about the same size.
That's...actually pretty ugly, in my opinion. It looks like it just tried to swallow a Borg sphere.

No thanks, I'll pass on fanfiction BS.
Warps into system..."aid the planet"
