Still got my fingers crossed for a ship that is the equal to the fleet ships. Our fleet is about to unlock the Tier 3 shipyard, so the long (and expensive) process of upgrading my ships to the Fleet versions is about to begin. If the Chimera is as good as them, I might be able to resist temptation for a while.
Also, I spent some time looking at mythology, think I will name my Chimera the U.S.S. Orthrus - gotta stay in the family

This is the last vet reward (1000). There won't be another one. But you're probably right that it will be outranked at some point. It might not even be that powerful as it is. We'll see tomorrow.

Not necessarily. They could alter the veteran reward system so every so many dollars equals 100 days. Perhaps every $50 equals another 100 days since a subscription for 3 months is $45.

I would say it's less than "very low" on the priority list. Dstahl has said several times that they have "no plans" to continue the rewards. When asked about it again later he said he'd consult with the CO Team about their Veteran Rewards programs. The CO community rep confirmed on the forums that the rewards wouldn't go any further, and even the CO FAQ for it clearly states Veteran Rewards are capped at 1,000 days.
So it seems to be off the priority list entirely. Even off the wish list. Seems like 1100 and over is, in fact, sitting in the trash bin instead...
That's at least 1 less thing to worry about. I'd get lifesub simply because I'm a trekkie, and not ever having to pay for gold benefits again. What I don't like is never ever being able to get all the benefits, if they keep adding it before I get there. LOL

EDIT: Wouldn't it be annoying if someone buys over the licence, and makes a STO2? Because the lifetime sub will most probably not transfer over...

I'm thinking the 1 ship will have 3 different modes. The Chimera was a combination of 3 different animals after all. Only time will tell.;)
I like your thinking here. It would be nice if you could set your own bonus on a sliding scale for weapons, shields, engines... I mean it is the 1000 day reward, some unprecedented customization would be nice...

The ships were ALREADY patched in during the last patch and are just waiting for the switched to be turned on... :cool:
Or they could just have maintenance on Thursday like normal, I seem to recall a previous Vet rewards coming late for some because waited for a regular update.

In all the talk about the P1 folks visiting the studio, I don't remember seeing any mention of the 1000 day ships being "works in progress". The only WiP mentioned was in regard to the Vesta.
Add to that, the screenies in P1's gallery show the Fed ship near ESD moving. The KDF ship is just shown on a white background.
Taken all together, I think the devs just need to hit the switch.
Well, Brandon has already stated they would be in game on Wednesday so a wait for Thursday is unlikely. I'm betting they went in last Thursday. Destroyers are already on the weapon use list (thanks to the Aquarius and Moebius), so if they put the models in already all that would need to happen is the timer hitting 99.1 on the accounts.
Just snooped around the contents of the .hogg files for a bit, and if the ships are in there they aren't named anything I can recognize. I did find some files named fed_fd1 (cruisers are fc, escorts fe, science fs and runabouts fr) but that could be the Aquarius or Moebius. I can only 100% id ships that are in the Cstore (due to the wtex/dds image files that I can open), so I can't say for sure.
The bridge files are pretty clearly named, so I am thinking if they are in there that there is no custom one.
I am leaning towards there being a patch Wednesday at this point - I think I could find something in there if i were there to find. Back to waiting on the blog post!
Coming up to my 1000 days Iam pretty well disapointed. I think both models are ugly as sin, iam sure some people will likem and Iam happy for them but I myself find them blahhhh. I surely hope there is more to the 1000 day rewards then these 2 ships.

That could very will be. I love ships, I think ive gotten most of the ships from cstore. But yeah I love ships, but both the fed and kdf 1000 day ships just make me go.. really? I guess maybe a part of me had bigger expectations or had a visual image in my head what they could be.
Iam sure theres a few people out there happy with whats coming, maybe Ill warm up to them later but atm I just dont really like the design of them both. The kdf ship reminds me of that other kdf ship thats like an xwing with the quad cannons on it.

Problem is most people want ships that have the looks of the tv shows, we are in the future of them. Designs changed, And i do like the looks. half cruiser/ bit of advance escort design in there ( the 4 engines ) And i dunno what that front is a big deflector from science perspective? ( underbelly )
I just want to see the stats, boff layout, and fore most, what in the world is this transformation? Holoprojectors that allow u to look like any ship u want?

We have the interiors, and we already have its counterpart, the Klingon D7 Cruiser at Captain level and above, as it is ia Fleet Starbase vessel, at least as a skin.
I would love to see the same love given to the Connie - but this is indeed an old argument and I am just expressing my personal feelings and opinions regarding the ship.

Well I myself am at 980 days as of today, and my first impression of the chimera class was WTF? But I have to say the more I look at it the more it grows on me. I have to say that it dose look better in the shots on the P1 site than it does in the original art work.
