Did they confirm that it would be based on a contest design? Because Vektor has ALSO designed a very nice updated Constitution class ship... just saying.
Cryptic owns all the contest designs. They'd need to spend six months negotiating unless that design was in the contest too somehow.

yea no they dont... DJCurtis Century (Ship made for BC) was submitted without his permission by several people, which effectively nullifies any of Cryptics claims to it.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Which invalidated the entry. Entering the contest was a legal agreement between the entrant and Cryptic where Cryptic owned the design upon submission. Any entry submitted on someone else's behalf would be disqualified on the grounds that they couldn't give it to Cryptic. (Also why folks from some states like TN were ineligible. You can't legally give IP away in Tennessee as I understand it without a token financial exchange.)

i know, that was just evil little me teasing a bit with a T5 Constitution.
Vektor's constitution model wouldn't even work in this game, because it is incredibly true to teh original TV version but as high detailed as possible. Compared to that the Odyssey is a 2 inch children's toy next to a movie quality 10 foot model.
Well, if they aren't trolling and the Vektorprise isn't eliminated I will be happy. Like I said, Ive always liked his work and flying one of his designs would be awesome.

The interesting thing to see is the transformation/animation for the ship. The nacelles look like they are on ball and socket mounts, maybe the ship can drift? U.S.S. TRIBBLE? :-P

That would be EPIC! lol

<facepalming> warp nacelles don't provide thrust... they're not rocket boosters... </facepalming>
Yeah, some take the game/IP a tad too seriously at times.

btw..has anyone heard if the ship comes with a unique bridge?
Most unlikely, since it will only be a Vet reward.

err, wait a sec, the timeships came with a unique bridge.
We're just going to be 1000 day vets, we don't rank unique bridges.
Every ship without a Starfleet interior has gotten a unique bridge and the in-game ships like T4 Defiant/Sovvie/Intrepid/etc. have unique bridges as well. 25th century Starfleet ships are theoretically not supposed to have any default interior plan.
A Timeship is REQUIRED to use the canon timeship bridge. So it gets one but it also gets no option in the matter.
Whereas Starfleet is manufacturing 25th century ships with whatever interior you want.
The D'Kyr and Atrox dont have a unique bridge, only Lockbox ships have then and none of those T4 ships you mention have Unique bridges, the Belfast Bridge is part of the DS9 pack and even of there are similarities of those bridges with the original ship bridges there are also available for the type and free, I have the "Galaxy-Bridge" on a Atrox.
And I would not call the Intrepid Bridges having any relation with the Voyager Bridge, the Free Science Bridges they are just too big and too ... scrapped together and would it kill then to do proper LCARDs displays for the stations instead of that mess we get?
Also many Bridges are pay, the Prometheus sure as heck does not come with the Prometheus that is a separate purchase, same with the Soverign bridges that you dont get along with a Assault Cruiser.
Last C-shop Ship that come with a unique Bridge was the Ody and the Bortas, every bridge from that point on was Lockbox bound.
There are extra Defiant/Galaxy/Sovereign skin bridges IN game only available on some ships. Not talking about the Belfast or the Defiant bridge pack. The in-game Defiant gets bridges other ships don't.
They're not really good or canon but they are EXTRA.
Now... I could agree on Orion/Nausicaan/Gorn/Caitian/Vulcan ships needing bridges.
But Starfleet ships' interiors aren't tied to the shape of the ship in game. The ships are mostly empty space that Starfleet drops in whatever deck designs the captain wants now.
the Very thought of mE doing something like that would be Krazy! all will be revealed in Time Or, check out prioRity one's upcoming episode.
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=

Yep, I think you DID lose a few logic brain cells. :P
"You're not dealing with AT&T."
LoL ...
I gave up on AT&T/Verizon back in early 2001.
If Cryptic/PWE becomes THAT bad... this game won't last another two years.

I used to drift my Star Cruiser all the time. Occasionally drift my Odyssey when I'm bored enough to play STO
Isn't it a big conflict of interest that one of your employees is dating a personality from that podcast and they seem to be getting a lot of scoops?
Just askin.
What if an employee was once a part of the podcast in quetion?
What if that podcast has came right out and said that they won't say negative things about STO because they totally "support" it?

Podcasts aren't journalism. There is no reason whatsoever they have to be unbiased; in fact, it can be detrimental.
Correct. They are fan opinions.
I don't "fault" P1 with their postion, nor did I for the final cast of STOked.
Their show, they will run it as they see fit.
I give them credit for making their position on the distribution of the "news" they present.
That's why I like rachelgarret's cast the most. It's "the news".
Now if only he could get a desk...
Not sure if he was trying to drop a hint, or his personal favorite.
Personally, I could live with the Vektor, or should I say Magellanic class.
To me, it has character.
I like the quadnacelle design, especialy with that hinge point.
Especially like the way the hull juts down with the large Deflector. Reminds me of some of the early jet air craft with the large engine intakes.
It looks fast.

If you entered legitimately, that ship is now co-property of Cryptic Studios and CBS whether you won or not.
That would be EPIC! lol

Maybe the impulse engines are on the nacelles in Cryptic's design?
