Harper: GAR transfer command of the UNSC ships here to the Greenlong and captain Prasis. Take us to slip space.

The carrier makes a A calculated jump from its current position heading for the nearest colony that they lost contact with.

    Harper: what’s our ships status?

GAR: shields are at 25% and recharging. Hull armor is down to 40% though and that we can’t fix till we get to a dock. We have 2 nova warheads left and the PAC has 25 rounds left. All other weapons are at about 19%. We also only have 12 of our broadsword multi purpose fighters and 25 long word interceptors/bombers.

Harper: so our overall max efficiency is?

GAR: 50% at best right now sir.

Harper: get ready what you can. We only have a short time before we arrive.

Vosi Dax: Time to get out of here. Helmet make sure you have the correct drift locked in, then take us to ot at max warp. We want to wind up outside of the subspace dead zone, not trapped inside.

    Lietenant: Aye Captain.

*The Enterprise leads her escort away, warping away while the undone are disoriented by what just happened and heading to a rift that they determined before hand would lead back to normal space via probes*

Eve: I guess they're hunting down the Na'kuhl survivors. Hopefully there aren't too many in the Temporal core or we could be in trouble. Hang on I got an idea. *she carefully gets out a small food pellet, and her suit retracts from her hand as it starts growing a bit bigger and hardening as she makes it stronger. Then she flicks the ball behind the Cyborg, causing it to go down the hallway on the other side and impact it with a loud noise. The Cyborg turns to the noise having not noticed them yet and starts walking towards it*

Serah: Oh nothing! *she's panicking a little and suddenly the hair on the front of her head grows extremely long, completely obscuring her face. Torin probably doesn't know that when she panics she loses control of her limited shapeshifting abilities*

Prasis is on the bridge of her battle ship as she coordinates the remaining UNSC forces as the undine have now left completely.

Prasis: I want a full damage report of all the ships in the combined fleet. I also want all operational ships to send repair teams to any allied ships that need them.

    Officer: aye ma’am.

Prasis turns looking at the display and the data they have so far received of the colonies.

Prasis: I don’t like this. I like it even less that the admiral didn’t take anyother ships with him.

Deja the ships AI appears near her on a small stand.

Deja: I’m sure he will be fine. He knows we need all available ships here to held in repair and make the undine are completely dealt with. Even damaged the admirals ship is extremely strong and powerful.

Prasis: yes and now it’s one of the only two remaining Punic class super carries we have.

She is silent as she returns to looking at a display that shows the fleets current status and deployment.

A short while later Harpers ship arrives in the first system.

He looks out the viewport in shock and dismay.

    Harper: are there any survivors?

GAR: scanning.... no sir there’s nothing. Just dust and echos.

Harper stands there silently for awhile unable to speak

*R.S.S. Resolute. Hargrove is in his Quarters with his Aide going over after action reports.*

    Hargrove: Damage?

Aide: We lost 4 Omahas, 12 frigates, 3 Matthew Nelson-Class, and 8 cruisers and heavy cruisers. The Resolute and Unity took serious damage to FTL systems in the collision and are immobile until tugs arrive to tow them back to drydock. The Praxis has lost atmosphere in 30% of her compartments and has no main power. Commander Ton'ba is evacuating non-essential personnel and requesting instructions.

Hargrove: Scuttle her. We can't waste the dock space on an SCV, even if she could withstand a fold-space jump, and I don't want her equipment falling into the wrong hands. We have plenty of Omahas where she came from.

    Aide: Understood.

Hargrove: How many ships are disabled?

Aide: 24. Nearly a third of our remaining force.

Hargrove: Anymore unable to withstand a fold-space rift?

Aide: 3. But the Liberty and the Turaria can make warp in 6 and 23 hours respectively.

    Hargrove: The third ship?

Aide: R.S.S. Republic, sir. She took a hit through the main deflector. It's a miracle the shot missed the MA reactor.

    Hargrove: Damn.

Better make sure we get 3 tug groups, lieutenant.

    Aide: Yes, sir.

    Hargrove: Casualties?

Aide: Around 10,000 killed so far, but figures are still coming in. A lot of ships went down so quickly there was no time to evacuate. Where there was, many of the escape pods hit neighbouring ships or got caught in the crossfire. Shipboard casualties seem to have been heaviest on the ship's closest to the Undine dreads - especially the telepaths.

Prasis is in her ready room looking over their own damage report.

Deja: it isn’t very pretty is it.

Prasis: no but lay it out for me.

Deja: as you know we lost the Crown of Arcadia when it exploded that was our other Punic class carrier. We then also lost 29 venator class cruiser and have another 13 that are considered damaged beyond repair. We lost 9 concord class heavy battle ships 7 of our Virgo class and we also lost 5 Halcyon class heavy carriers. We also have another 15 ships that are heavily damaged but should be able to make slip space.

Prasis: what about what the admiral was going to look into?

Deja: the last report I received from GAR the colony was completely destroyed. That colony alone had 2 million people. And that was the smallest one.

Prasis: damn. How long till repairs can be complete.

Deja: at current rate 32 hours till all ships will have ftl back.

Prasis: alright send a message and see if the others need help first. I suspect they would like to get back to their space sooner then later.

    Deja: yes ma’am.

    Cairo

Janeway is in sickbay as the medic is finishing up on him as his left arm is in a sling and he has a large scar still on his face.

    Janeway: captain what’s our status?

Stahl: it could be better admiral. Over all we lost a total of 32 ships. The Cairo itself is barely holding together. It’s warp and trans warp are shot. We aren’t going to get them repaired.

Janeway: alright start moving people to other ships. And get repair crews working on any ship that is still capable of ftl speeds.

Stahl: there’s more sir. We have received reports that at the end of the battle the undine seemed to have launched a number of devices. So far it looks like 7 UNSC colonies where completely destroyed.

UNSC reporter: we have just received word that while victory was achieved against the undine assault in the area known now as the expanse it has come at a heavy cost. While a large number of ships where lost or damaged in the assault we have other causalities to report. We have received these images directly from a UNSC ship that responded to the catastrophe. The image may be disturbing to some.

The image shows the colony world reduced to rubble as the ships and stations in orbit are low wreckage as well.

Reporter: this was Vian 7. With 2 million colonist it was an agricultural and trade world. Destroyed in the last few moments of the battle along with 6 other colony worlds. We expect to hear from the UNSC command at some point here shortly. But needless to say the loss of life is astounding and we are working as hard as we can to verify all the data we receive about the worlds affected and those lost.

Its simpler. I'll just start overriding things to start a melt down, but keep an eye out, we're probably going to set off some alarms doing this, and I imagine that cyborg and any others won't be too happy about it.

Serah: Oh nothing! *she's panicking a little and suddenly the hair on the front of her head grows extremely long, completely obscuring her face. Torin probably doesn't know that when she panics she loses control of her limited shapeshifting abilities*

*OOC: Nothing on Sara and Susan?*

Torin: Uh... Ser'? When did you start shifting?

*Planet. Jane starts sneaking past, using all her training to avoid making any noise.*

OoC: Sorry I missed that part.

Serah: Um... *she looks thoughtful* Well its been a few weeks. I'm learning to control it thanks to mom, but I'm still not that great about it.

    ***

*Eve moves with her, unnaturally silent. Their suits are specifically designed to nullify footfalls. They get to the door and Eve opens it, pulling Jane in with her before closing it. The cyborg turns hearing to door, but seeing no signs of life it begins to patrol*

Eve: Thank god for that. Now... lets see if I remember which control consoles to use to overload it. *She doesn't seem phased by the sight, but Jane quickly sees the infinitely spanning room, a giant coil going off as far as the eye can see in either direction, walkways and floating Na'kuhl computers dotting the area. There doesn't seem to be any signs of cyborgs or Na'kuhl, and a lot of the area has been scrapped for parts. Jane will also notice that this room seems far bigger than it should be with how the hallway was around it*

OoC: I don't know if you remember what the Na'kuhl temporal conduit from enterprise looked like, or have even seen it to begin with, but think that but even bigger.

    ***

Serah: Maybe... we should take a break?

    Sara: Sure...

*She sits down, trying to calm her breathing.

    Serah and Karen's Quarters.*

Torin: You'll get the hang of it.

*Planet. Jane looks around in awe.*

Jane: Now I see why you guys go after these ships... It's like they're warping reality.

Serah: Wait... can you shift too?

    ***

*Susan just lays down sprawled out as she recovers*

    ***

Eve: Oh they are. I don't remember what its called... Subspace folding? its been a while since I read the briefing on them. Its even worse on ships from the 31st century, they can make a shuttle and have the inside be as big as a galaxy class. That's why I warned you not to get lost, its hard looking for people in a space like this *she smiles as she starts punching some stuff into one of the computers* 29th century ships like this generally only use it for the Temporal conduit, since its hard to build something like this in normal conditions.

    Torin: No.

    *Holodeck. After a few minutes...*

Sara: Okay, ready to finish this?

    *Planet. Jane stays close.*

Jane: So, how do we blow this place?

Eve: Well its similar to just setting a warp core to self destruct, only although we could have just gone for their warp core, the temporal core will wipe all evidence of us being here from the timeline. Its simpler. I'll just start overriding things to start a melt down, but keep an eye out, we're probably going to set off some alarms doing this, and I imagine that cyborg and any others won't be too happy about it.

    ***

Susan: Sure. *she nods gently and starts getting back up*

    ***

Serah: Well... I guess I should get going. I need to get some scissors.

Torin: Okay. Talk to you later sis.

*Holodeck. Sara does the same, her skin still glistening with sweat as she takes a stance.*

    Sara: Ready to lose?

    *Planet. Jane keeps a lookout.*

*The Enterprise and its escort pass back into normal space*

Vosi Dax: Comms, try to hail Hargrove and helm get us back to the battlegroup, we need to regroup.

*The Enterprise and the remaining federation ships jump to warp, heading back to the republic and UNSC and Coalition forces. The Enterprise also begins trying to hail Hargrove*

    *Hargrove responds.*

    Hargrove: Captain.

Vosi Dax: What's the word on the fleet Hargrove? I assume our efforts had a fairly noticeable impact out here, the Undine in fluidic space seemed to be in a panic. We only lost a handful of ships on our end, they weren't prepared for an assault inside of their home.

Hargrove: Losses were heavy. After the Undine flagship was destroyed, the remaining ships went into a rage. However, their force collapsed once the rifts started closing.

All four allied fleets lost a lot of ships, with a sizeable number disabled on top of that, but we've also received reports that 7 UNSC colonies have been destroyed outside the deadzone.

    👍

    Meanwhile

Xanatos walks into a lab where a group of scientists are working around some of the undine wreckage taken earlier.

Xanatos: well what do you have so far.

Lead scientist: well sir we are working on the molecular makeup of their bio tech to see about fusing it with current tech to make it even better and stronger.

Xanatos: very good. Remember the more the merrier. We have plenty of good wreckage at our disposal.

    Scientist: yes sir. Of course.

    UNSC Thunderous Approach
    Infinity class mobile command ship

Strauss is standing on the bridge talking with Harper and Kel.

Strauss: this isn’t good for anyone. We lost major resources in this attack not to mention
the navy is now down to about 50 percent of what we had.

Kel: agreed. But we have little we can do about it right now. We are not in a position to even defend what we still have.

Strauss: we know. We need to consolidate what we have.

Harper: we won’t abandon any one. We will find a way to keep all our people still safe.

Kel: and how do we do that when we may not be able to feed or supply them?

Harper: we will find a way to do. We can talk about this more later. Right now we need to try to calm down the people and reassure them.

The other two mod as Harper leaves the bridge.

Harper is in a ready room as he is getting ready to make a speech to the UNSC. As the highest ranking military officer he knows the people need to be reassured. But he doesn’t know if he has the words to do it. He sets the padd down that he was working on. He gets up pouring him some Torian ale as he takes a long drink. He pours another as he returns to his seat.

Harper: how do I tell them that this is going to be ok in the end and that everything will work out when I don’t know if it will or not my damn self.

He sighs as he hears a sound he looks up to a figure standing in his ready room he is surprised but not alarmed.

Vanguard: admiral I did not mean to startle you.

Harper: it’s alright as long as you are here as a friend and not an enemy?

Vanguard: I’m very much a friend.

Harper: well then don’t worry about the startle. Who are you?

Vanguard: my name is vanguard. I’m from a different dimension then this one but have watched and been watching this one very closely.

Harper: so I assume you know what’s been going on here then.

Vanguard: yes. And while I regret we where not able to side you I am here to tell you in the end the loss and sacrifice will be worth it. Things will not be easy for some time. But you your people and the entire galaxy will become stronger through this struggle. You are bound to create bonds and alliances you can’t even dream of yet. There will be hurtles you must still overcome but know that you can go out there and tell those people better days are coming nd they will.

Harper: it doesn’t feel like that right now.

Vanguard: I know. You have doubts as well. But know this that things will be better soon. There are things coming that you must all be allied for against. This and the coming events will make sure those bonds are strong.

    Harper: thank you.

*Serah waves goodbye and hangs up, thankful she avoided having to tell him what happened with Susan and Daya.*

Serah: sh*t. *she cuts her hair haphazardly, then rushes off towards the holodeck, knowing Susan was in there earlier exercising*

    ***

Susan: I could ask you the same thing. *she grunts and rushes at her, trying to grab her and pick her up*

    ***

*After about a minute an alarm starts to sound, similar to that one normal ships when the warp core is going critical*

Eve: Let's see... here and here... and... that one too... *she keeps changing and overriding lockouts* We will have enough time to get outside when I'm done, but it will be close.

*The Door opens and the cyborg from earlier has returned. Unlike the ones outside she is using a Na'kuhl plasma rifle, not the cyborg one.*

Vosi Dax: 7 colonies? But how? Did the undine deploy planet killers during the battle? *she looks a tad bit dejected, she had hoped for better news*

Harper appears at his desk with a large UNSC emblem behind him. Dressed in his dress uniform he begins talking.

Harper: as many of you know we stopped the undine assault in the expanse at a very large cost. Not only where many ships lost and disabled but 7 key UNSC colonies where also destroyed. The death tolls and total damage is still being assessed even as I speak. Things have been anything but easy lately. But I do not want anyone to lose hope or sight of what we are and what we will accomplish. We will come out of this stronger then before and United. Nothing is going to break our will and determination to grow and thrive. The coming months and even years will not be easy. But I swear to you we will prevail. We will come out of this struggle stronger and more united then ever before. We will not go quietly into the night. To the colonies that will be affected hardest by this you will receive as much aide as we can muster first. We will not abandon anyone. No matter how small or insignificant you may think your colony is at this moment everyone is and will be important. I also ask that any one that is able that isn’t already to consider joining the UNSC navy or army. We will rebuild and we will prevail. Axios!
