*The Republic Fleet assemble into formation and go to Action Stations. A squadron of Matthew Neilson and Titan-Class battleships and heavy cruisers form around the USS Enterprise.*

Harper: GAR what’s the enemy fleet made up of?
GAR: scanning now. I’m picking up about 450 undine nicors and 300 various cruiser models as well as 2 massive super ships. That is just my estimate. With the interference from the expanse and the mass of the undine fleet it could be more.
Harper: understood. This is fleet admiral Harper to all UNSC ships. Attack pattern Cole Omega. Have our tactical officers work with the other allied ships.

A moment later the UNSC battle song plays through out the fleet.

Hargrove: Fleet Command to all ships, fire at will! Group five, maintain formation with the Enterprise! Cruisers, make sure our big ships remain covered!
Captain: Let's go to work, people! Weapons, fire nanite torpedoes, full spread!

*The Republic fleet opens fire, releasing a torrent of warheads at the head of the Undine formation. Hargrove motions his aide with him to one of the auxiliary stations, showing a tactical map.*
Hargrove: Once the Undine engage fully, have the Omaha wings focus their efforts into punching a hole through here. *He draws a path towards the nearest singularity.* That should give Dax the opening she needs to get the Enterprise and her escort into Fluidic space and seal off the rifts.
Aide: Aye sir.
Hargrove: Relay this to the Enterprise and Janeway's flagship.
Number One: Captain Undine incoming. Launching Frigates at your command.
Vosi Dax: Proceed. *The comms officer relays the message from the republic* Alright, be prepared to move out. Have the frigates focus on supporting our allies, we can handle ourselves with the current escort.
*The Enterprise launches four cestus frigates that immediately focus on reinforcing ally shields or sif fields, firing at any undine that get too close. The relatively small Coalition escort that has been sent is focusing on clearing the path for the Enterprise and the escort, the ships unusually silent, the captain in charge of them mostly just taking orders instead of how someone like Steele functions when in command.*

Harper: start having damaged ships trade positions with undamaged to keep the strongest up front.
Milo: aye sir.
They soon will detect the singularities increase as they start to build up to bring more ships into the battle.

As the battle rages just off of the main conflict a ship is cloaked watching the battle.
Carter: there that wreckage there beam it aboard.
Agent: aye sir.
Harrison walks up next to Carter.
Harrison: I trust our agreement is still in place.
Carter: of course. We both get the necessary things from the wreckage.
Harrison: very good. That piece should have all we will need for now at least.
Carter: agreed. Their will plenty to come back and get afterwards. But I want to make sure we have at least what we need. And the battle provides perfect cover.

Vosi Dax: We made it! Now the real battle begins. We need to get to the largest rift, close it and any other massive rifts and it should significantly slow down the undine. I just hope that this is enough of a surprise that they can't muster a proper defense.

Hargrove: All ships, tighten our defence! We need to buy the Enterprise time!
*As the Enterprise's group fights through Fluidic space, the Republic warships use their nanite warhead-armed point defence micro-torpedo launchers to put up a flak screen against any Undine ships that get too close.*
Serah: Oh? Is it a boy or a girl? *she smiles teasingly*

*Susan leaps at her trying to pin her down*

*They enter one of the strange hallways of a na'kuhl vessel, the semitransparent organic but clearly metallic walls going on either side of them*
Eve: Ugh, I always hated the insides of these things. *Some of the hall has gravity but other parts don't, bits of debris either sliding around or floating in the air*
*The Cestus frigates use smaller nanite missiles that aren't nearly as powerful as the torpedoes but work well against the undine as flak*
*The Enterprise goes to warp, odd waves and distortions being cause by the warp field but it works as if in normal space as the helmet takes them towards the primary undine rift*
The undine dread that had been sitting back now engages in the fight as well. The massive ship not only uses normal undine weapons but can target a small area and attack mentally as well.
Meanwhile
Harper: what’s our status!
Milo: battle positions are holding sir. The undine have increased their attacks though.
Harper grabs a console as the ship shakes.
Harper: press them as hard as we can. Make sure none slip through.
Cairo bridge
Janeway: engineering I need weapons back up now!
Ensign: sir no response ship comms must be damaged.
Janeway: damm it. We need to get weapons back

Carter: alright let’s get out of here for now. We can get more when this area has settled down.
Agent: aye sir.
The prowler silently departs and shortly arrived at a starbase not far from the area. As carter beams over.
Carter: I’m assuming you can handle this and get me some results.
Xanatos: of course. I’ll have my science division start right away. It should prove fascinating for them and profitable for us.
Carter: I want this kept quite. The fewer involved the better.
Xanatos: come now your speaking to someone who has built a galaxy wide cooperation that operates in every major power. I have my own military pretty much and have operated all of your operations without anyone knowing. This won’t be much different. As long as you don’t get sloppy as well.
Carter: I don’t get sloppy. I’ve made sure that the republic will think the major operations are taking place in Pegasus not in the Milky Way. That should make things for us here easier.
Xanatos: indeed it shall. Wel I’m standing by to offer aide once the battle is done. It will also give us a chance to get more samples if we need them.
Carter: good. But the sooner you start on that one the better.
Xanatos: of course especially if I heard correctly that the federation is going to reseal fluidic space.
Carter: so they say. We will see how this battle goes first before I make a prediction.
Carter beams back to his ship as xanatos takes a long look at the wreckage that was brought before signaling for some techs to take it away.

*It appears that the Coalition vessels are immune to the mental attacks by the undine, or at the very least they are resisting them as they show little response to them, but the low numbers balance it out, keeping the coalition cruisers and escorts on their toes, dancing about to try and tunnel fire away from damaged ships like the Cairo, coalition fighters sending over extra sif power to reinforce them*
*A couple of the smaller federation cruisers try to focus fire on the dreadnought and keep it suppressed*

Ensign: sir we have a message we just received from the republic command ship. Sending it to your console sir.
Janeway turns looking at it.
Janeway: very good. Have all ships get ready. Once the enterprise has its opening get them in.
Ensign: aye sir.
It doesn’t take long till the bulk of the undine fleet has engaged with only one of the dreads and its escorts hanging just outside of weapons range.
Vosi Dax: Proceed. *The comms officer relays the message from the republic* Alright, be prepared to move out. Have the frigates focus on supporting our allies, we can handle ourselves with the current escort.
*The Enterprise launches four cestus frigates that immediately focus on reinforcing ally shields or sif fields, firing at any undine that get too close. The relatively small Coalition escort that has been sent is focusing on clearing the path for the Enterprise and the escort, the ships unusually silent, the captain in charge of them mostly just taking orders instead of how someone like Steele functions when in command.*
*When they get to the Daemosh hull they find plenty of holes to enter from*
Eve: Alright, we have gravity boots to lock us in place, in case their artificial gravity has failed, and I've activated our emergency temporal shielding, so for the next hour or so, we aren't going to be deaged or flung through time if we get hit by a burst of chronitons.

*Hargrove sees the dreadnought waiting at the edge of the battle.*

Torin: I've got a place on a training cruise. It's a year-long voyage.
*Holodeck. Sara tries to back off.*

Battle master: prepare to give them an opening. Lure the enterprise in and then destroy it! The weak shall perish!
UNSC command ship
Harper: status!
Milo: undine ships are still moving in. The bulk of their forces have engaged with a small group remaining just outside weapons range. The Pious Winter and Furious Flame have nothing been destroyed with several other ships reporting damage so far.
Harper: start having damaged ships trade positions with undamaged to keep the strongest up front.
Milo: aye sir.
They soon will detect the singularities increase as they start to build up to bring more ships into the battle.
*As the Undine begin to open the gap, Hargrove orders the SCVs to engage and open the originally planned path, signalling the Enterprise to move into the breach before the Undine respond.*

Cairo
Janeway: report!
Ensign: we have two undine bearing down at mark 048.2. Shields are down to 44% we have reports of multiple ships that have suffered damage as well.
Janeway: bring us to bearing mark 956.4 and prepare to fire a volley of torpedoes full spread.
Ensign: aye sir.
As the Cairo moves into its position one of its escorts the Gatori is hit and as it explodes a large piece of its hull crashes into the Cairo.
Picking himself off the floor as sparks fly and fire is burning on the bridge Janeway gets up with blood coming from a cut on his face.
Janeway: status?!
Ensign: the Gatori was just destroyed! Shields are at 10% and we just lost weapons and warp power.
Janeway: get weapons back now. Until then put all auxiliary power to shields.
Ensign: aye sir.
Meanwhile
GAR: admiral the Cairo has taken major damage.
Harper: move us into position to cover them and have the triston and peville do the same as well.
Carter: there that wreckage there beam it aboard.
Agent: aye sir.
Harrison walks up next to Carter.
Harrison: I trust our agreement is still in place.
Carter: of course. We both get the necessary things from the wreckage.
Harrison: very good. That piece should have all we will need for now at least.
Carter: agreed. Their will plenty to come back and get afterwards. But I want to make sure we have at least what we need. And the battle provides perfect cover.

*Susan grunts and let's her go, getting in a stance again*

Serah: Oh! Does that mean you graduated from the academy?

Eve: The engine room. It will look a bit weird to you, just try to not get lost when we reach it. *She starts climbing in a hole*
Vosi Dax: We made it! Now the real battle begins. We need to get to the largest rift, close it and any other massive rifts and it should significantly slow down the undine. I just hope that this is enough of a surprise that they can't muster a proper defense.
*A few coalition ships made it in as well, though the biggest ships stayed back*
Torin: Not yet. Hopefully when the cruise is finished.
But...there's something else.

*Holodeck. Sara also gets in a stance, breathing steadily.
Planet. Jane follows Eve closely.*

Ops: The Enterprise is through, Admiral!
Hargrove: All ships, tighten our defence! We need to buy the Enterprise time!
*As the Enterprise's group fights through Fluidic space, the Republic warships use their nanite warhead-armed point defence micro-torpedo launchers to put up a flak screen against any Undine ships that get too close.*

*Susan leaps at her trying to pin her down*

*They enter one of the strange hallways of a na'kuhl vessel, the semitransparent organic but clearly metallic walls going on either side of them*
Eve: Ugh, I always hated the insides of these things. *Some of the hall has gravity but other parts don't, bits of debris either sliding around or floating in the air*
*The Enterprise goes to warp, odd waves and distortions being cause by the warp field but it works as if in normal space as the helmet takes them towards the primary undine rift*
Meanwhile
Harper: what’s our status!
Milo: battle positions are holding sir. The undine have increased their attacks though.
Harper grabs a console as the ship shakes.
Harper: press them as hard as we can. Make sure none slip through.
Cairo bridge
Janeway: engineering I need weapons back up now!
Ensign: sir no response ship comms must be damaged.
Janeway: damm it. We need to get weapons back
Carter: alright let’s get out of here for now. We can get more when this area has settled down.
Agent: aye sir.
The prowler silently departs and shortly arrived at a starbase not far from the area. As carter beams over.
Carter: I’m assuming you can handle this and get me some results.
Xanatos: of course. I’ll have my science division start right away. It should prove fascinating for them and profitable for us.
Carter: I want this kept quite. The fewer involved the better.
Xanatos: come now your speaking to someone who has built a galaxy wide cooperation that operates in every major power. I have my own military pretty much and have operated all of your operations without anyone knowing. This won’t be much different. As long as you don’t get sloppy as well.
Carter: I don’t get sloppy. I’ve made sure that the republic will think the major operations are taking place in Pegasus not in the Milky Way. That should make things for us here easier.
Xanatos: indeed it shall. Wel I’m standing by to offer aide once the battle is done. It will also give us a chance to get more samples if we need them.
Carter: good. But the sooner you start on that one the better.
Xanatos: of course especially if I heard correctly that the federation is going to reseal fluidic space.
Carter: so they say. We will see how this battle goes first before I make a prediction.
Carter beams back to his ship as xanatos takes a long look at the wreckage that was brought before signaling for some techs to take it away.
*A couple of the smaller federation cruisers try to focus fire on the dreadnought and keep it suppressed*
*Jane continues to follow, using her mag boots to hold to the deck plate.*
Jane: Some of this looks organic.
*Tora Ziyal. Torin blushes, rubbing the back of his neck.*

*The remaining Republic battleships fire salvo after salvo of the nanite torps into the second dreadnought.*
