I haven't been able to play as of a week ago due to "Server Not Responding" followed by a disconnect.

For another 2 days (next patch)... it was bit laggy. And another patch----> unplayable.

After getting into space, the ui doesn't load fully, the mission list sometimes loaded, sometimes not, the ship dont move, the submenus don't work, and some untranslated text shown in certain areas, menus.

    What is the problem?

I am used this command on chat: /netgraph 1
And I saw the very high ping, 300 to 2000 ms at sometime, when froze-lag.

I thought that before, the distance-related ping is the reason: the server in USA (i think, the pacific side), and my computer in Central-Europe. :)

I switched on the EU proxy, the ping goes down to 180-250 ms, and everything is faster loading, no rubberbanding, unmovable ship and character...

I have had very frequent server lag, rubberband, and disconnect issues in both the game environment and Foundry over the last 2-3 days. My ISP is AT&T U-verse.

    Possible solution aswell.

If you got constant ''hickups'' on your connection it's 99.9% on your end and not servers acting up on you :D
What you can do is: Download Wlan Optimizer and follow the simple steps and advices. It's free and helped me removed the ''hickups'' completly. (Only for Wireless Users.)

Hey Folks, just a heads up...I was having issues with server disconnect and rubberbaning.

I pulled my router logs and found it was blocking packets...even expected ones. I had to go into firewall setting on my router and turn off "Stateful packet inspection" and make sure both UDP and TCP filtering are set to Endpoint Independent. I found to game played grate after that...so now I have narrowed down the problem and will update if I can fix it safely.

A WORD OF WARNING: STATEFUL PACKET INSPECTION IS THERE FOR A REASON...TURNING IT OFF COMES WITH RISKS. I ONLY SUGGEST THIS AS TROUBLESHOOTING...PLAYING WITH SOMEOTHER SETTINGS SUCH AS TIME OUT MAY FIX THE ISSUE AND ALLOW YOU TO KEEP "STATEFUL PACKET INSPECTION" ON.

Apparently I'm not the only one then - the game has been almost unplayable for me over the last 2 or 3 days, masses of lag and lots of disconnects. Nothing wrong with my connection here, nor have I had any issues with the STO login server, which works perfectly fine - once you get in game though, it tanks.

/netgraph is reporting a ping of 645, which is utterly ludicrous, even from Australia.

My ISP is Adam Internet, my location Adelaide

I'm not sure why it's necessary to bounce around cogentco so many times, that's more hops than it takes to reach the World of Tanks servers.

Since Saturday night/Sunday morning I have been completely unable to get past the point where the launcher says "retrieving maps list". Sometimes the login server will boot me out before it can retrieve my characters but 9 times out of 10 it times out at retrieving the maps list. I had no STO connection problems prior to Saturday/Sunday and had been playing for awhile. I haven't had any network problems and I have't changed any of my own network hardware. I posted a ticket on Sunday night but have not received a response yet. Sounds like other players are having similar connection problems starting at about the same time as me? I have comcast for my ISP.

latest little patch did nothing to help me unable to connect to the servers reliably (despite having 0 issues with any other multiplayer game)

Well bust my buttons! For the first time in days, I was actually able to get past the "retrieving maps list" message on the second attempt last night and get into the game! Lots of lag, lots of rubber banding but it was something. Played for about 25 minutes before I was disconnected from the server. Tried it again after that and once again on the second attempt, I was able to get into the game. Still a TON of lag and rubber banding. Connection lasted about an hour before booting me out. Just in case I didn't mention it before, connection problems I have been experiencing were regardless of whether I was using US/EU proxy or not.

What I found to help with rubberbanding issues in game and has actually improved my internet speed considerably in any application is to go to http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php and download TCP Optimizer. This program eliminated 99% of my rubberbanding issues and lag. Now the only lag I get is because of my computer. This helped with my wireless connection I use. Also going into your router and setting it to only broadcast on a specific channel helps as well, doing this I went from a sporadic 90 - 120MBps connection to a rock solid 150MBps. This helps cut down on interference from devices like Microwaves, cordless home phones. Cell phones dont affect the singnal, but having your cell in close proximity to your laptop does cause some interference but is barely noticable.

open up a run command window (Vista and 7 you can do this from the search function when you click the start buble) (XP press the windows key + R for the run command box) and type msconfig and turn off items that load at startup and hog memory. Simply turning off Adobe reader here wont kill it, you have to remove it or it will load itself again the next time you restart windows. If your using WIndows Vista/7 plug in a 4GB or higher USB flash drive or SD card and enable ready boost. Stop any downloads you might have going on, like torrents. Update to the latest drivers for your video card.

Hope this is of use to some of you. :D

I was able to play the game just fine at home over the holiday break, but since returning to school I and the hallmates I have recruited to the game have had to deal with game breaking rubberbanding on a daily basis. It once took me 40 minutes to get from the ESD transporter pads to the bank. Unfortunately we have not yet been able to find any pattern in these lag spikes, they occur seemingly at random and will last for an hour or two, then we usually get a couple hours of decent play time before it starts again. Since our school put in a new firewall over the break, which we know interferes with P2P networking, we at first thought it was hitting STO as well. But after ResNet (which handles networking in the resident halls) looked into it for two weeks they were unable to find anything that was being blocked. So, I'm finally contacting you.

I ran both tracert and nettest 3 times in a minute to get a spread of results, which even in that short time frame show that the net connection between us and the STO servers fluctuates widely.

The tracert results are almost all good, with the one bad point being the no response in the very first hop of the first trace. Hop 12 is the only one with a relatively long time and even that is well within the 180 goal.

The nettest had much more varied and worrisome results. The first time I attempted to run it it froze trying the last line, the 3rd Port 80 listing, and I wasn't able to copy the results. But I noticed that it was in the 200s for the first port 443 line, the second port 7202, and that almost all the column 2 results were below the desired 20.

Of the three tests that completed successfully below there are still many problem areas. The first test is the best, with columns 1 and 3 all in the green, but many column 2 entries below target. The second test has better results overall but had the second test of port 7202 time out. The third test has multiple instances in all columns below the target numbers.

This issue is effecting at least 5 people that I know of in my hall alone. As we live on campus, our ISP would be the University of North Dakota, if you need to contact anyone here you would probably want to talk to ResNet (who handles the hall networks, 701-777-3424) or ITSS (which handles campus networking as a whole, 701-777-3171)

For the past couple of days i've noticed more lag than usual. Just wondering if anyone else has seen it too.

I have the same issue. Slight input lag, pretty obvious when you move around in space.

I've been having very frequent connectivity issues ever since I started playing, and I'll note that I'm usually streaming music and on skype (not usually in a call) or teamspeak while playing.

These services never stop, time out or disconnect while STO is experiencing connectivity issues (and by issues I don't mean lag. I rarely have lag in STO, it's mostly smooth sailing or just a complete time-out from the STO servers, which requires me to usually exit the game and restart it. This usually fixes it, but not always for long).

STO is also the only MMO for which I have ever experienced this issue, which leads me to believe it must be related to STO servers or at least my connection to them.

    1. Tracert. For completeness I had the computer run two tracerts roughly 20 seconds apart. http://pastebin.com/jUYizYj5

    2. Nettest. Notably, values in the second column frequently fall at or below 15 kB/s. http://pastebin.com/pjdEWy7A

3.My network provider is SNT (Studenten Net Twente), located in Enschede, the Netherlands.

    Hi,

i am playing STO since it has become f2p now. most times it runs well but sometimes i have several terrible connection problems. especially in the past 2 days when the double xp event was running. so i guess it does also depend on how full the server is. i also tried out all 3 proxy settings. that doenst make a change at all.

My provider is Vodafone (pretty big one ) and i am located in Berlin, Germany

    Here are my test results:

ive tried all the fixes suggested and nothing works, i am pretty sure its not my isp and hardware because i've been playing pwi for 4 years without any issues . i do like this game and want to keep playing but it is getting very annoying and no one from devs seem to acknoledge the issue

okay, so I got courageous and installed sto on my laptop and hardwired it to the router. graphics suck (thanks laptop) but I can play...is it possible to burn a network card? I didn't begin to have the issues on my gamer system until last weekend. Hopefully hard-wiring it will work...:(

Started having problems today (9th April 10:00am BST).
Rubberbanding every 20 seconds or so, "server not responding" every 2 minutes, with a lot of those resulting in DCs.

2 different players, 2 different PCs (same integrated router) same issue whether 1 person was connected or both.

Connecting from UK (Manchester area) via BT Infinity 40Mb

Traceroutes to the gameclient connections (208.95.184.43 and 208.95.184.50) resulted in similar figures to what is below:

For the past month I've been having unbearable and frequent disconnects, and it just keeps getting worse with every patch. I've tried everything, opening up the ports on my router and even hardwiring the modem to my PC.. I'm having no luck..
