What kind of range are we looking at for assignments times?

Are there ones that are 5 mins?
    Do some take weeks?

Silly question. Could mission replay be tied into DoFF?

Example: I've done the Cold Case, i just hit Captain, I want the captain level engine, can I just send a team to do it.?

They need to drop the 'log in for an hour' way of giving the reward. If you give a reward it should be for completing a series of specific tests. People just stand in ESD to run out the timer.

Wait, you have to be logged in to move the DoFF quest along

I was hopping I can just jump in and out though they day.

    wake up.eat
get reports from finished crew + send back out
    morning walk + email
get reports from finished crew + send back out
    morning checks + facebook
    lunch
get reports from finished crew + send back out
    customer call
    work
    dinner
get reports from finished crew + send back out
    game
    work
get reports from finished crew + send back out
    sleep

since the world is persistent, I figured they would come back while I was logged out. Am I wrong?

I'm pretty sure that what CapnBludd is referring to is the Holodeck (live shard) reward that we'll get (on our real toons) for testing the DOff system on the Tribble/Redshirt/whatever test shard, like the Crossfire Tribble, Fluidic Space Tribble, Borg Tribble, or other Tribble Test Weekend rewards; NOT the rewards for completing DOff assignments.

Duty officer assignments will continue to progress even if you are logged out.

Incentive rewards for the duty officer system on Tribble will be based on how many and which Commendation tiers you attain. Commendation tiers are attained by accumulated commendation xp in each of the eleven or so different categories; commendation xp is gained by successfully completing duty officer assignments.

Will the rewards be tied to the character used for testing, or will they be account wide rewards as the tribbles have been? If I test marauding on a KDF character does that mean my Feds will be rewardless from that effort?

Since this is sounding like these rewards will be "requried" to get the most out of the DO system once it goes live, advance details will be required (and appreciated :)).

Don't expect it to be in testing state, until the F2P beta begins. Which is anytime between Tomorrow, and New Year's Eve. I'd wager the Doff System won't be out until Free-to-play.

And remember... the Doff System was originally slated for release WITH Season 4, back in July.

Depends... is it going to release before F2P? If not, I'll just wait it out until you get some content into the game, which should be around Thanksgiving, so I'll have holiday time then.

    QFT!

I just cancelled my subscription. Gametime expires September 28th. If DOff is ready for testing before that date, I -might- resubscribe. If not, i'm gone for good. Any return after September 28th, would be as a "Silver" (Free) player. Cause right now, i'm not gonna pay another dime to Cryptic. "Been there done that"

    Yeah, when?

    After the game goes F2P?

    Next year?

    Not that it would matter.

Any scheduled release date would just get postponed for the F2P era while those still paying in the here and now get shafted.

And once it goes Live, it will still be buggy as hell and break other things in the process.

    Or what?

You gonna tell him or anyone else "If you don't like it, quit" ? That helps Cryptic, how? Yeah, i'm sure alot of subscribers quitting the game, would help them alot. Good plan.

Until I see an actual forum post, and a patch to download, the DOff system isn't ready for testing. Regardless of how many times/ways Heretic decides to say "Soon". We've heard it all before, on countless other subjects...

That does sound a lot like a Today/tomorrow soon.

Tribble patches are usually quite late in the day (for me) so it could still happen today.

Will probably most likely happen tomorrow when I am at work though -.-

This is nothing against you Aisling, I've never had an issue with you.

All I'm saying, is that a good many people around here are sick and tired of hearing "soon" from the devs in this game.

Because "soon" or even "very soon" doesn't mean anything here.
