What happens if I'm on someone else's ship interior? Or if I transition between someone else's ship interiors over to mine?

    ...Ummm... yer screwed...?... ;)

Does this mean I can visit player X's ship and steal their boffs by sending them out on my assignments? :D

Probably can't steal their doffs, but it might be cool if you could access their shipboard assignments while you're there. Somebody who doesn't have enough doffs or the right ones to do theirs could let a friend come aboard and take them.

Or people could just be jerks and snap them up while you're training their boff in APO3.

I am pretty sure that when you are on any ship interior - yours or a friend's - it will simply treat you as being on the last map your ship was on. But I admit I haven't tried that particular twist.

    Haha. Sorry, no kidnapping.

But it would be a nice assignment. Something like "Kidnap the general of the enemy", "Kidnap a scientist"...

Oh now would have been "interesting"

perhaps in a 2012 Build of the DOff system something in that direction can be implemented.

At this late time, my guess is the F2P Tribble will not be up this weekend.

Heretic, how is the work going on this followup to the doff system? Has the ground work for integrating it after the initial Doffs coming out been going well? It seems several of my boffs have been having dreams about cannibalism and my the ship's Counselor is a bit concerned.:p:eek:

    Question: What about a Helmsman?

There isnt a single Star Trek show or Movie that does not show someone at the helm flying the ship..Obviously in reality its you, but still. A Helmsman Assignment would go along way in Immersion. I know currently I have my Dpt heads picked out, even a Second Officer which too isnt included in the Department Head section. Heck, a passive flight ability could be added.

Also, It be nice to have actual departments you can assign your extra BOffs.

Where when your not on mission you can say go down to the Science Lab and see your extra Science Boffs working dilegently over some rare find we just made.

Or Down to Main Engineering to see that brand new Boff hard at work replacing some Warp Coils.

Considering the fact that there are only so many open consoles on the Bridge that actually are used by yourself. Theres no need for every Bridge Officer to actually be on the bridge all the time.

Infact Ive made my Bridge Crew seperate from my Away Team/ Captains Escort Team. Even then some BOffs remain on the ship as alternates to possible scenarios.

It would be cool if you bumped into the assigned crew in the various interior locations - science lab, engineering lab (although I've only seen the engineering lab on the TOS Connie), sick bay, even maybe a transporter chief, just for the hell of it, who hangs out in the tranporter room and provides a slight bonus to the chance of successfully retrieving boarding parties?

They do say in one of those OPs that eventually you will see assigned officers in various places inside the ship. But then they say a lot, don't they? Heehee!

    Fingers crossed. :)

Interestingly, in the final official Q&A with Dan Stahl, he mentions they have a guy working feverishly on new ship interiors (one guy, mind you, I was hoping for 3 or 4 at least, just for speed).

You will need to earn it on Tribble, even for Diplomacy. Diplomacy tiers gained prior to this test cycle will not count.

Any word on if you can reset our diplomacy ranks when we copy our characters over to Tribble ? I'd imagine this would be preferable for most, so that they could level it up from scratch using the DOff system, instead of having to make a new character to level diplomacy.

In my own case, I have two Ambassadors and an Envoy currently 10 Diplomatic XP away from Ambassador. I can stop gaining diplomacy with my third VA, but if it's not reset, my two ambassadors are almost completely worthless for testing out that aspect of the DOff system. Sadly, I don't really have any other good candidates for leveling diplomacy right now.

So, how about resetting our Diplomatic XP when we transfer over to Tribble ? It would be very helpful if possible. :D

    Sounds like an interesting question.

Ranks reached with different characters should be taken into consideration as well, since you can either progress in diplomacy or in marauding, depending on the faction of your character.

All subscribers will have access to this Tribble test.

This will be on Tribble for a fairly long time; we are not rushing this test cycle. Functionality and interface will continue to evolve over the course of this cycle.

Note, also, that the duty officer system will open at level 12 - this will probably change. This is when the system will alert you to the system and provide you with your starting batch of duty officers.

(As a known issue, you actually can interact with the system at level 11, but you would have to go to Starfleet Academy and recruit duty officers the slow way; I would recommend just waiting until you hit level 12 for the real feel of the system.)

    LOL ..

Is it wise to tell us how to fiddle with the system, before it even hits?? ;)

Thanks for the heads-up Heretic, it's probably a given that somebody will find this glitch and start a what-the-heck Thread.. :)

Can't wait to give all your hard work a go.... :D

Is there any testing plan or some kind of instructions what we should test with a priority or do you want us to just play as usual?

Also will there be a forum for the Tribble test server? Because I don't think it will make sense to post our feedback in the normal forum.
