Sweet! I think it's awesome that you try to keep in touch with us on these things, more than we can say about past CM's who only came on to stop mass debates, etc. I look forward very much to seeing this come to life, and wish you luck on overcoming these complications.

Hey all,
Just popping in with a quick update!
Unfortunately, I still don't have a more concrete information that I can provide right now.
I really am sorry that I haven't been able to move more quickly on this, and I truly appreciate your understanding and patience in the mean time.
I'll check back in next week again. I think I'm almost ready to make a tentative step forward with my plan, and to start divulging some information to you all.

Your implying they are going to be a PWI Paid person... which i dont think is the idea so the times will be unrestricted whats the point in haveing paid week people... the server runs all hours. That would just defeat the idea of this, would not be constructive and a waste of money for PWI.
Truley we wont know untill Val drops us in, Tho im just adding a few Quotes / Problems that the idea would be able to support.0 -

I would assume they would be similar to how the forum mods work. We could have more than one for a server. They would just have to be frequent players with some variety in when they log on.[SIGPIC]http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/kitsunekatie/guild stuff/allcharsig1-1.jpg [/SIGPIC]

Volunteer is the right word here and..since GAs are/would technically be normal members they have no reason not to play on weekends.
In fact, probably the GAs are most important on weekends when the staff is not present...but that would require some in-game tools to make it effective. Otherwise, they can only send in tickets and wait b:surrender[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

I maybe missed it, but I didn't saw yet Val said that GA would be volunteer players, maybe it will be, but he didn't said it yet. As we don't know yet what would be exactly their roles/responsibilities/powers. We made suggestions, maybe some will be take as maybe others won't.
Work: Activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.
(People can work without getting paid)
So yes GA could fix the weekend spamming if they do work the weekend as GA. (paid or not)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I know what work means but I feel volunteer/volunteering is more appropriate and more fitting, much like the Mods' volunteering to assist with the forum.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

volunteer / volunteering would be more the right word(s) i would use as well because your going to be giving up your free time to suport the game. Just a few notes that you can still do instances and Mod WC... and i dont think your be the only GA online. It will be important to comunicated with other GAs online to check things like Spam in areas for example i use the West arch i run trough that area quight often.
This made me laugh!
Bla to be fair tho if a GA needs to port eveywhere may be a Milage Claim form should be submitted! LOL!0 -

GA's definitely need to be volunteers. I think that they should have limited power, especially during the weekend. Weekend spam is horrible sometimes. b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

You make it sound like I was against the GA idea while I'm not. All I meant is that yes GA could do take care of spam if they are on the weekend (and have the power) and beside focus on the idea of what I said you all focused on one word.
It's maybe a language issue, in french we can use the word work even if the person doesn't get pay or for some other stuff (cleaining etc...), but look like for people speaking English work is only used for people getting paid, so I guess everytime someone tell a forum moderator ''Good work/job'' we should correct them saying mods doesn't work and it's not a job since they don't get pay.
Good to know, thank you for the language lesson.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Good job is actually a phrase used in English to praise someone's effort regardless of whether it was voluntary or not. And used to even praise children. So you can still say good job. Whereas work has the secondary definition of meaning...employment, as in some form of industry, especially as a means of earning one's livelihood
@Thread
I think the GA's ability to deal with the bot spam would heavily depend on what tools they have at their disposal. I know as a moderator, I don't have the power to ban nor mute players from the forums. If GAs also didn't have muting or banning powers, they probably wouldn't be able to do much about it. Hopefully, if the GA program is implemented, they will have the power to mute. I think banning would be too strong a power for a GA though. If not, I don't how they would be able to do anything about it even if they were to play on the weekend. I still think this would be a helpful program either way, and hope we get some good news about it.0 -

which is why work on the weekends makes it sound more obligatory than it would actually be. Just FYI.

even if u call one of them an *** you have way more higher chance to get banned. as they have closer contact with gms they often know upcoming patches and changes. If you know some items will be nerfed or increased/decreased price you can play market big time. they are also able to influence GMs more to ban some1. This program always make one guild to turn into power house.
Now give them power and you will see absurd situations..people getting banned for saying one rude word in world chat because GA doesn't like that person etc
I have been playing other games with programs like that. Been in factions with those people. they ruin all the fun when you know whats coming. know what items will drop or increase price, what skill changes will have. and then you start noticing that people that hate our faction randomly disapears (cuz they got banned for random **** which not always is true). Have been super rich cuz GA found people been abusing glitch to get exp/money and told our guild and then we all did it lol. I have never seen it work out in any game and all of those players sooner or later uses their powers for their advantages.0
