It's funny when I visit this thread and read bits and pieces of the conversation. I honestly have no idea whats going on lol. Something about being hit for 4513 damage?

I thought I had told you that your archer friend had just killed someone? And that someone would not have clicked "go to town" yet, so he would still be targeted.

I guess you haven't really pked at all. The second that you killed a target in open world or even tw... you press escape or tab (depending on the situation). No one is going to have a dead body selected when he/she could still be in danger.

There is a couple ways an r9 archer will react... i guess i'll tell you how I would react. Being that whoever I just killed would have gotten a hit off of me... i would already have long clicked crab meat to recover whatever hp that i lost (however small it may be). Since you suggested there is veno harassing me... she would contently have been tab selected.. and more likely dead before you landed your hit. After that I would either have tab selected you or if tab select yield no target escape to deselect my dead target.

Being now there is 2 dead bodies and I have just gotten hit pretty hard. Here I am assuming that you landed your attack while I have the veno selected. Since I just been hit pretty hard and have no idea who hit me. 6 second holy path toward the direct with no enemy (while deselecting) and force charm tick. Now if you manage to get a mobility status effect on me...

1. I got hit by sleep. Being that cleric sleep does no damage... my bet would be sin sleep. Being that close to me... I would have known what weapon the sin is using. And if its the red dagger... i would have loled... and wait for his next move. Being that I have been slept... the sin can either attack me to wake me up or triple spark. Either way... its wing of grace or alacrity when i wake up. And btw... you have no idea how much a 100 dex close ranged genie thunderstorm hurts on light armor.
2. I was immobilized. Being the sage archer that i am... no immobilization skill will have longer range them I do. Its pot and return fire.
3. I was stunned. Considering my 100 dex genie and its 90% chance to remove stun and its 6 second holy path... its impossible for any ranged class to perma-stun me (even impossible for a bm).

EDIT: And I gotta be pretty blind to not see an orange ball of fur 5 meters away amping me... if you want to claim i was amped. The only way you are going to achieve a kill is to add a few more characters to the play. So far we got the mysterious first dead body... and an harrassing veno. Got anymore? Pretty sure once you said that there is am army of +5 tt99 holy pathing toward me... i would more or less conceded that i would have been killed.

Ok, fair enough. Though is random odds if you would have targeted the veno -- you might have gotten her pet or you might have gotten some bystanders which were there out of range. If I give you 50% odds of getting the veno, I rolled 62%, so lets say you got her nix. And I did want to find out if you were going to spend time tabbing among targets.

I am not there. I do not know why you think this was about me. It's about her.

And she started her attack before your target died, so she is not dead, this time. We covered the times when she failed in the bit where she had been harassing you ineffectually.

Ok, there are three other people in view when you turn around and see her. They are out of range of you though, and are running away. And I will predict into the future and say that they will not attack her.

Meanwhile, you are sealed and frozen already. So you already have a mobility status effect on you. Will you really have spent your genie energy on holy path?

Oh, and while you were inspecting her, her phoenix hits you, and you take damage from that. Do you want to go through with this course of action? If so I will tell you what icons she has and stuff and tell you how much damage the phoenix does.

You were hit by a human form attack, lets say from 25m range. I am not going to advance the clock into any transitions to fox form until I get a decent idea of how you would react to that initial attack (she has 1.2 seconds casting time -- her pet might hit you during that time, depending on how you would react but of course that would not end the battle). And she was not using holy path.

Anyways, is only one person with +5 tt99 attacking you.

It doesn't matter who he's going to select first because he's sealed and frozen for, I'm assuming 8s. I've said previously in other posts that venos could have the chance to make anyone a one shot. I stopped believing it after awhile though because now people can stack def levels as well.

T sparked a veno with TT99+5 can have ~20k mattack, Parasitic might hit for ~30k, either Lucky or Ironwood would probably hit for 25k, so I see where the 4.5k you think might come from comes from, but the def level difference...we'd have to know what that difference is. Where's that link with the archer's pwcalc? lol

I'd imagine if anyone could, they'd drink a pot...purify pot, sutra, whatever... All they need to do is outlast the seal/freeze tbh...did we say no apoc/genies or something? If not that probably activate a magic charm. If I can block Parasitic, there is no harder attack a veno can inflict. Anyways you better hope you can break his charm before 8s are up.

seriously though, the archer forums were super cool. I was pure dex from lvl 2, knew what skills I needed to spend my precious spirit on (actually i never had problems since I was informed ahead of time of fail skills to avoid lving), what gears I should aim for/weapon progression, and all that basic info from archer forum.

His face reforms as he staggers up cautiously, unsure of what to make of the flowers now sticking from his quiver. "Curses! Foiled again!" says Fleuri as she glares at Kiyoshi. She turns around and leaves in a huff as the venos began engaging in spontaneous embrace with each other.

Here is more evidence that you never pked. In world pk... no one let themselves get surrounded by non-friendly white names. Even if they are neutral... they would be DEAD. Personally... no non-friendly white names will make it within 34 meters of me without getting hit by me. Just how many random white names are you going to bring in? And for pets there is an icon to select the owner... not sure if you know that.

Fair enough... I didn't select her. But you do know anyone can recognize a veno's attack right. They all freaking look the same... just with different colors. Pop magic def charm once I know I am dealing with an all magic class.

So I got hit by nova. Lets see... triple sparked for 17k magic damage. nova would have overall damage of 17k+3k+6k= 26k. pvp damage of 6.5k. factor in def level of 39... brings down the dmg to 3.9k. armor reduction of 58% brings that to 1.6k. lets make it a crit... so 3.3k if it crit and high end damage. For a veno to triple spark nova... she would either used up apoc timer or some genie energy.

See... it would be nice if you told me i am immobilized and sealed... then I won't talk about sleep or stun. But either way... I can't move so I'll need to tank nix damage. Nix bleed is going to tick my charm which brings me back to full hp.

By this point you should probably pray that its a demon veno.... which would allow her to armor break me. In the 8 seconds that I am sealed... a veno can cast 3 spells. Armor break does nothing to help the veno's magic attack. If you go fox form... you just wasted 2 of your 3 attacks to amp me. So I'll assume your first attack armor breaked me.

Level 100+ nix has a p.atk of 5k. Pet will take the full blunt of the 69 def levels. No pvp damage reduction would bring nix's initial bleed to 1.5k. And Its bleed is 2x base damage over 9 seconds. Which means nix will bleed me 3k spread across 9 seconds. So like 1k per tick (if I remember tick is once 3 seconds). One crab meat would more the null the entire bleed cycle.

So it'll come down to your pet pecking and you attacking me in the 8 seconds. You can either armor break and foxform amp me... or armor break and attack twice. 5k hp is more then enough to cover the three veno attacks. So its all up to if the pet can deal 6k damage with peck in 8 seconds. All the while I still have my genie heal, purple pot, and apoc unused.

And I believe we're in agreement that once the 8 seconds of chaotic is up... the veno is dead.

LOL. I just tested it out. Me without buffs of any kinda... full r9 armor 37 def level over the veno attacking me.

Twin buffed nix hit for 203 damage per attack... bleed me for 1422 damage per tick (number is going to go down with 69 def levels).

Demon triple sparked m.atk buffed veno with +8 twin gem tt100 magic sword... noved me for 3297 damage.... stun scarab me for 3124... armor break scarab me for 3031... green scarab me for 2305.

Whatever veno that's hitting me will need to get the 5% crit EVERY HIT... along with the 67% chaotic, 20% armor break, 30% magic armor break, and 30% curse... and still won't make the kill. All this time my arrow is waiting to deal 8212 non-crit damage.

EDIT: Someone should really play the game before ****ting out random ****.

can't be human myriad rainbow if the initial hit dealt 4k+ damage. Even with myriad rainbow... he going have to roll the dice for the 2 good debuffs (although i am not sure the % on those). If i did get hit with myriad as the first hit... you think I'll be sit around especially if myriad is from max range to get hit by nova 4 seconds later? When I see any armor break icon... i get the **** out. And lets not forget 4 seconds is enough for any archer to fire off at least 3 arrows. Everything has to go right for the veno and wrong for the archer. Even then.. my money is still on the archer.

And consider this... any half brained archer will immune pot once he see every last debuff on him. After that its no more sparked damage. And it'll take 1 non sparked hit from the archer to end everything.

She does in fact look like she's sparked, for either the low damage hit or the high damage hit (she has those icons, along with an increased crit icon, and cleric and barb buff icons) and stun immune and increased movement (including summer sprint) something blue looking.

In my initial concept you would in fact be armor broke, and (for the high damage hit) mind broke.

Yes, there are several paths you can take here, and several kinds of outcomes. My initial thought for the encounter was to try to panic you into using absolute domain, and then ironguard, to try to set up for the combat that would ensue once those wore off. Here, the sooner you went invulnerable, the better her chances would be.

But then I started seeing other possibilities, and frankly your biggest risk is that she takes almost 8 seconds and ticks your charm approximately 5 seconds into the 8 seconds.

First off, she has -63% channelling (-5% from the faction buff), so I think she could land a few extra attacks on you.

Second off, she has a 17% crit chance. Her first hit was not a critical hit.

Third off, for the high damage hit, you are armor broke (which had not come into play yet), mind broke (the reason you took high damage) and amp'd (demon parasitic nova amps you when it procs). She needed about a second to land the parasitic nova. (and, just so you know, casting time happens after the damage, not before).

And she has her phoenix attacking you, which can stun you for a couple seconds (and so can she).

But most of the status effects are going to wear off right about when the seal and freeze wears off, so yes, she has some risk there.

But she has full chi (two of those people running away were venos, and they transferred spark to her after she launched her nova). Her genie is full, and has absolute domain on it, she has not used any apothecary yet, she has a skill that can make her invulnerable for 10 seconds (feral concentration). She's carrying ironguards. She's a demon veno so she can instantly make herself stun immune for 6 seconds and she's stun immune already during your initial encounter (the third person running away is an archer that gave her his alacrity buff).

But, honestly, that's overkill. I should have set up a situation designed to make you skoff and laugh and and tick your charm about halfway through the seal time. Then you could be mana drained to almost nothing with DoT damage on you and she can use chaotic spirit on you after your charm ticks. Congratulations: you have no health, and there's a decent chance you are stunned and that this happens right about the time your crab meat wears off (since, like you said, you ate crab meat in your previous battle).

Unfortunately, I do not know if chaotic spirit works through invulnerable. I suspect it does, but it's also not a sure thing. (So, you might survive despite her best efforts, and mana drain would cost her two of her sparks which does not bode well for later on, when she has to fight you without her pet.)

But yes, if you can predict what she is trying to do and her capabilities, and if you have some familiarity with her limitations, your survival chances go up significantly.

But let's say that instead of doing like I, in my ignorance, had her doing, she watches you from well out of range (or has an assassin watch you and waits out of sight and high altitude) and comes in when your apothecary is on cooldown. Now she can be stun immune from her archer friend and have some feral concentration left when she comes into range. If you do not armor or mind break she does not bother with parasitic. If parasitic fails to proc she just runs....

So then you get to have fun fighting her and her phoenix, you without armor and amp'd, and she can anti-stun ironguard when her seal wears off of you, and if she did not use her genie for other purposes and feels she needs a few extra seconds (like maybe if a stun did not proc) she could absolute domain after the ironguard wears off.

On and by the way, she was not sparked. Instead she had the almost useless 1 hour faction buffs that made her look like she was sparked.

Then there is only 2 white names... 3 if you include the dead one. I can't tab select someone thats 40 meters away without first getting those that are in range. If the veno is indeed 25 meters away... she'll get selected first. I try not to let unfriendies get without 30 meters of me.

So she didn't triple spark. You think the 1 hour base buff is going to make her hit 4.3k on a jade r9 la? I am still interested in how you get 4.3k from an unsparked nova... even if you take out my armor resistance. Demon nova only does 16k damage (high end)... so thats 4k pvp damage. def level itself is going to bring that down to 2.4k... and this is with my mind breaked. you expect base buff to add 45% overall damage? If thats the case... I think I am in the wrong guild. R9 archer looking to apply to a guild who can offer 45% base damage increase buff.


I think its pointless as you are just adding more and more characters... support or otherwise. There is a good way to end it all. Genie remove stun (if stuned) ---> ironguard (immune to damage will last longer then any status effect) ---> alacrity/holy path (depending on distance from enemy). At this point I'll be at full hp and no status effects with knowledge of where the enemy is coming from. Unless those 2 supporting venos and the archers is wearing something other then tt99 gears... it'll be 4 arrows and 4 dead bodies.

I'll even put my money where my mouth is. The r9 archer in question has 69 def levels and 11k+ hp. I have neither of those... but I do have the damage. I'll put 100 gold up against whatever veno fleuri trains to come after me. You can have as many non-attacking supporting character as you can. Once I killed the attacking veno (or once I die)... scenario will end. 100 gold per try... no limits on attempts.

PS. I don't get why any bystander archer would cast alacrity on the veno in questions. Its not like i will go for the stun... 1 arrow will do it.

EDIT: If there is 2 venos and an archer passing chi and using alacrity along with whatever they are doing? Won't it make sense for those 3 to also attack me?

Meanwhile, you have no armor -- her rainbow proc'd and reduced your magic and physical defense both by 100% (and I had her trying all day or maybe all month to get the two armor breaks to proc together with a proc on parasitic nova -- poor thing), so your only defensive advantage is a 39 defense level reduction and your PvP damage reduction.

And I did mention that when demon parasitic nova procs you get a 30% amp? Have you tried that combination in your tests?

So, ok, maybe I made a math mistake! I have been known to make mistakes in the past:

If I have done my math right, her base magic attack, with those buffs, is 11900-13242, and her equipment damage is 1674-1859.

Demon parasitic nova does base magic attack + 300% weapon damage + 6606, and when it procs it amps you by 30%. So her starting damage, before reduction due to pvp, and your defense levels, and before her amp, works out to 23528-25425.

LOL. You do realize that your build contain r8 top and second cast MAX stat nirvana pants right? And the twin sap gems. The pants itself would cost roughly 2x the amount of any true tt99 set. Not factoring in the sword... everyone would assume thats r8 or greater robe. The only reason it would be holding an tt99 sword is to purposely gimp herself. So let me ask you this... if I switch my weapon to my tt90 xbow... does that make me a tt90 archer?

First there is 1 veno... then comes 2 more venos... soon follow by an archer... now there is a sin. Essentially a whole squad of hostiles that just showed up.
