xD If I'm fighting someone that outgears me, then ya.. I usually finish people off with either a sutra combo or an ult bypass. In the said example I'd have an advantage with genie energy, but my sleep would be on cooldown which would even things out quite a bit, not to mention I'd be forced to use genie energy to survive during the fow. You can imagine if I saw him sutra I'd probably need to holy path away (and I probably couldn't get out of range in time).. so best case scenario we'd be back at max range in a stalemate again. He can one shot me through wind shield with genie spark BT (non crit), so you can imagine windshield likely wouldn't save me from a sutra combo. Anyway, predicting how a duel MIGHT have gone had I used a different genie skill isn't really all that useful, let's just say faith was effective (helped me finish a fight) in that situation and leave it at that :P

If you just can't see any situations that faith might be useful, skip it (at least for now) and go try out your genie. If somewhere down the line you decide you want a skill like faith/domain.. it is relatively cheap to change it. I suspect as you pvp a bit more you'll find that the tougher opponents you face will find a perfect strategy that you are defenseless against.. and you'll end up wishing you had just a little something that covers those more complex strategies that you don't see too often :P

That were some fun 1 on 1's, faith genie vs faith genie is pretty interesting. Actually Adroit would have been in a pretty bad situation without faith in said scenario. Shrink on cooldown, sleep on cooldown while mine wasn't used, sealed and me unloading a sutra on him. Sure he would still have his genie but that doesn't magically make him invulnerable.

Btw, Faith isn't only good against ultis, it's also incredibly amazing against sutra combos. It negates seal, spark and undine all at once, making you take far less damage and giving you the opportunity to intercept the sutra combo. It's just amazing to 180 degree turn a fight, often before your opponent realizes what's going on.

I'm defiantly not saying faith is a bad skill, it's an amazing skill. But you're right I forgot he said he blinked into you before he ulti'd so it would be hard to get out of sutra range in time. Love the condescending htt's never pvp'd feeling i'm getting here << I just think its to risky of a skill, If anyone kites through it your genies dead.

Edit: And I don't like how you can't use it if you've already used a skill since it takes so much energy =/

I didn't mean to come off condescending at all, it was definitely not the intent

I know exactly what you mean about being a risky skill and whatnot.. it's definitely not for every situation. Anyway it's obvious you aren't too big into the skill.. just skip it, no point putting a skill on your genie that you won't use :P Gratz on 100!

Kos'ing me even though we were guildy's (He has yet to kill me 1vs1! =/) kicking me from pvp squads, and he loved telling me how bad of a mage I was. But it's nice in forbiden . I don't hold anything against chinatown. Just kreize and he's blacklisted now anyways.

But on the less doomy gloomy side I finally finished my genie!

So far i'm loving it. The windshield + switch blessing is enough to tank those sleep ultis you talked about. Pearl's bt hit me for 4.5k with shield and blessing and 6ishk without. (He's +10 r8) Plus it really makes psys less annoying (I can take less damage to now you jerks! =x) It makes it so i'm almost never stuck in the same place and when I am windshield usually saves me until i can blink seal or drop. Plus when i used to drop some bm's used to be able to stun aps me to death air to ground but they cant anymore. And the 100 spark is making it so i can kill full nv's even though my weapons only a +4 purg! =] It's actually the combo you used against calvin thats my favorite. Seize(kite,poke until seize will tick them), spark, murder x/x I haven't really got to test it on sins yet except don_fito and he doesnt count 'cause he's like +12 r9! =/

Its hard to plan around faith! You pearl and caligasta are the only mages i've pvp'd against in the last month though, there arent alot at pvp spots. =/ I see what you mean by it being able to turn a fight around easily but I can't see it applying well in anything but mage vs mage. Use it on an archer and they're just gonna lol bbye until its over or use that reduce damage buff thinger. I spam my genie alot. A 160 energy skill will just be sitting there looking pretty. But I already admitted it was useful :P I was using seize to much imo, because of your genie i should have been bt'ing but seize is a habit since I rarely pvp against wizzy's. Rematch at rank sale! b:mischievous This is my tw genie to and faith as a defensive tw skill seems mad because it kills 160/162 of my genie. =/

haha I don't really play much anymore, I logged in last night for the first time in like 2 months (was so rusty -.-) but I'd be happy to 1v1 u for fun if u want :P Just send me a forum pm and I'll try to catch you online some time.

btw @ htt, I wasn't able to really think last night at 5am.. but just figured I'd also mention that I will sometimes use faith against psychics with a sutra combo (don't wanna get sealed/stunned.. fortify lowers mdef which can be scary) and against venos to resist purge (that's always fun XD), or to get rid of amp/bleed/stuns etc etc. I think we already talked about clerics, and I don't really have any experience with mystics/seekers, but I'd assume there would be times I'd use against them as well. So I find faith useful against most the magic classes, and I try to stick to fortify/badge for melee classes. Just my style though! IMO start working on a 91+ genie! b:chuckle

Adroit, I know the math. But it happened twice against the same barb who led with Ice. I badged the first round and blinked away as normal. The second round I Badged and hit AD and didn't move (simply a test). He ran up against a shield thinking it was a stun. The result was strangely sensational. I was so shocked that on round 3 I duplicated the move...same result. Both times both skills proc'd...in other words..the little buttons went dark and started regenerating.

Now there are 4 possibilities here:
1. Somehow Badge and AD are chainable on this genie (this was my immediate assumption);
2. Badge failed and AD does indeed bust Ice out...which I didn't think was possible (if AD purifies Ice, it's a new one on me);
3. A Badge/Badge Fail plus AD is a glitch win against Ice; or
4. I unknowingly had a cleric angel on my shoulder (which I do not think was the case because I was squadless).

A cleric? A cleric I didn't know about that wasn't in squad?

I'm greatly confused now. A squadless cleric purifies me and I just happen to hit AD at exactly the right moment thus confusing the barb to the point of breakdown. What do u think, Adroit?

I'm not in the habit of using domain to deal with stuns. But I guess a re-test is in order, because evidently I've described something that is highly improbable, or I misinterpreted what I saw.

But on another note, you would have to be there! Darn it. It's a moveable feast Adroit...dine with us.

Was looking at faiths description and I honestly don't see why it's so great that someone would replace domain for it. (Unless the description is wrong and its immune + purify)

Also looking at wind shield and i dont see why so many people have it either.

I usually run around with my dex genie (world pvp etc), but I'll switch to my TW genie (66/100 zeal, like 60ish vit and 8x magic.. CE, frenzy, HP, domain, fortify) for TW.. or for pve (lol).

Faith is basically a purify + 5 seconds of immune to status effects (not damage). It's pretty rare that I die to someone similarly geared if I don't have any control skills used on me.. or debuffs/amps. It really helps turning a fight around, and I really don't wanna explain it again.. maybe I'll log on and we can 1v1 and see why faith is so awesome for yourself :P Wind shield is really nice because it's something you can use against non aps chars to prevent a bypass (for ex.. a cleric sleeping you and triple sparking.. gives you at least a better chance to survive) Increasing your survivability 25%+ for 10 seconds for 62 energy is a pretty good deal imo. Anyway, I'll try to catch you on sometime and I'll show you why I like the skills that I have :P

You pretty much explained it right there, that purify sums it up for me. I really wish PWI would learn how to do descriptions correctly... Fortify says "immune to stun" and doesnt say purify or anything.. why would I assume faith to be any different? /sigh

Well now Ima rethink about rebuilding my genies skills, Ill have to sit down and caclulate what affinity ill need for everything I want and what level genie i would need, and with how many lucky points.

As for wind shield, I was more thinking along the lines of fighting aps characters since for the most part I die to sins.
