Sounds good in theory, but when I and several of my friends were doing our epics, 4 or 5 expansions had come and gone. Heck, the epic wasn't even BiS at that point. We had a sense of achievement which I suppose is gone today. I do thank you though, you have made me realize once and for all that this game's community is not…
Where does the contemporary sense of instant entitlement come from? I'm seriously curious. 20 years ago, if you wanted your Everquest epic weapon, you worked diligently for several months. Why does everything need to happen today?
It's funny. I perceive the exact opposite of what most are positing. New and inexperienced players aren't the toxic ones, it's the elitist HAMSTERS that are too good to help people.
As long as you do the Storm King's Thunder campaign just far enough to make it to Lonelywood, Makos will give you an item that makes this issue essentially moot.
The only half-answer I ever saw to this question was a semi-official, "impossible to say." The problem is that while Arc does instant transfers to cryptic, Steam makes occasional lump-sum transfers "occasionally." The occasionally in this case was never defined as any specific time frame. Quirky enough that I only buy Zen…
I've thought about this, but most casual players don't come by enough salvage to outweigh the cost of "Dear Mr. NW Support person, I accidentally hit salvage all, not realizing..." You fill in the rest ;)
NW is free to play. Although I'm sure they'll add lots of new Zen Store content, the expansion itself will be costless (well, unless you take the view that time is money).
Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but it seems to me that all games during their lifetimes introduce limited, well though out mounts, and before you know it, people are flying about on a 50 foot Macy's Orcus balloon. I can live without this "distraction."
Well said. I guess it's one of my shortcomings that having fun was always preferable to winning. If you want to "win" there are more productive things than sitting in front of a computer.
Everyone always blames the devs, but it is always the suits that are at fault. Let's say you stamp out widgets for a living. Are you more likely to listen to the widget users or the guy who signs your paycheck? Even if you know how to improve the widgets you make, the boss always wants them done how the boss wants them…
While I seem to enjoy the game more than my predecessor posters, my addition; Neverwinter Online: Because there's no flagellation like self-flagellation.
Since no one's taken a stab at your suggestion, I guess I will. The environment you describe is precisely the environment of 99% of the MMORPGs currently out there. They feature endgame progression, "I play my toon better than you do" zones, and things designed for large groups of highly skilled/highly equipped…
Couldn't agree more. You'd think Cryptic would want to implement this based on harassment exposure alone. I have never played another online game where this was allowed to happen.
Welcome to the devs new world. Since no one did any of their crappily designed content, they decided to MAKE players do it rather than design better content.
