  • I noticed the same thing. Instead of bringing it back down to pre-Combat Update numbers, devs nerfed the hell out of it. Yes, this very much ties into XP booster packs in the Zen store.
  • Agree. Thanks for the apology, cwhitesidev. I'm a little bit confused about the "me and nobody else" and the "we" in the next reply. It sounds like the CDP is entirely your sole project, and if you don't value it and acknowledge feedback, no one will. Not getting a reply at all usually means you are either not…
  • Yeah, something ain't right. I went to Haruman's with my 31k ilvl Ranger and didn't see a real difference in mob difficulty. Did I balance my stats better? Do I dodge better? I don't know, but something ain't jiving.
  • Yeah, noticed that just now. Guess that's why it's called the companion update by some people - upgrade those companions to mythic or get left behind (mounts too).
  • Good to know! On preview, I have 31k ilvl and can handle Avernus no prob (I have 26k on live, where it says 19k is the minimum). I guess I'm not understanding how 19k translated to 30k (a 11,000 ilvl jump) when my actual character only received a 5,000 ilvl jump. BTW, it still says 21000 ilvl for Path of the Fallen…
  • Do you see this as a good thing, or a bad thing? I think if a 25k TR can easily handle Avernus (19k recommended officially), they should be able to walk into Sharandar and maybe struggle a bit while still being doable. Do you agree? Or do you think a 16000 ilvl jump from Mod 19 to Mod 20 somehow makes sense?
  • So after the initial 2 weeks, any new or returning player will have to grind until they reach ilvl 40,000 or they won't be allowed access to New Sharandar. Those lucky players who are paying attention in the first two weeks simply have to do a few quests and then enjoy permanent upscaling of their ilvl to 40k while in…
  • Agree that ALL artifacts should have the same ilvl and giver roughly the same amount of stats. Let the bonuses and unique powers be what sets them apart from each other. Low lvl artifacts doesn't make sense from any perspective. Old equipment being brought closer to ilvl/effectiveness (looking at everything that can be…
  • Not at all. Sound like a great idea.
  • I think the 104k drop is supposed to be mitigated by you upgrading all your companions/mounts to mythic thereby increasing the stat with the bolster bonus multiplier. Where you get the resources for such upgrades is the rub.
  • When does this aberration become available on preview shard?
  • This does NOT address the issue AT ALL. This sort of reply is EXACTLY what is wrong with the Customer Service. You did a great job of confirming that the OP's complaint is not only justified, but that all of us can expect the same level of service from Cryptic. Very disappointing.
  • what was the purpose of capping Guild Marks again? And why is it so low?
  • I thought players could buy or sell Zen without spending money. You could earn AD, trade it for Zen, and then later change your mind about the Zen and trade it back for AD. Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that "some wealth is generated through the Zen store, and some through farmed AD in game, but the ZAX ONLY trades…
  • T2 dungeons are for hardmode-crazed players like yourself. If you want those to be even harder, great! T1 dungeons are for more casual players who want to experience the content at least once. This basic model is present in many MMOs. I think asking for better ways to acquire gear for access to T1 is perfectly valid, and…
  • Predict outcomes? That's exactly what you were previously arguing against by implying there is no use complaining without convincing evidence. It's sad that you choose to call it complaining. Lots of these players have put a lot of thought and effort into making their ideas known on the forums, for the betterment of all,…
  • True. But your speaking to the meta-perspective of the MMO gaming industry in general. If we go down that road, we might as well abandon all discussions concerning the future of THIS game. I think the Devs want Neverwinter to go on as long as possible. The alternative doesn't have as good job stability for them. It's in…
  • The true end goal being the continued profitability of the game? If enough players leave due to irreconcilable barriers to character progression, the game becomes unprofitable. I think that's as good a leg to stand on as any.
  • That's a good point. However, where does a player get access to such protected data? I think asking the suits to do their jobs, which includes doing said research themselves, isn't that much to ask. Then again, you'd be naive to think the suits will ever learn of anything originating from these forums. They depend on the…
  • It's too easy to say that players are blaming the wrong people. AND, it does nothing to further the conversation. When the players have only ONE option of communicating with the decision makers (i.e. the forums), then what is said on the forums should always be taken as "pointed at the decisions makers, whether its Devs or…
  • Here's where I see problems for a new player/fresh lvl 70: By the time the toon makes it to lvl 70, as things currently stand, they won't have enough AD for more than 1 or 2 R8 enchants. If they spend extra time making 'extra AD on skirmishes', then there in for more than 4 months just to get to finish step 2. I wouldn't…
  • I assume that Drizzt is done. That's ok. However, have you been thinking about writing a new drow or drow-esque saga? Another quintet? Has anyone approached you about a DnD movie? How do you feel about your beloved/hated powries making it into the Forgotten Realms universe/canon? Have you seen what Cryptic had done with…
  • I don't think players expect the devs to respond to every post/suggestion/complaint. There are only a handful of really serious problems (those affecting the majority of players) that players are speaking to, and those are the ones that warrant consistent communication from the devs. AD Changes to Leadership ADsink / cost…
  • How long did it take you? Do guild stronghold quests generally give more XP than the EE zones?
  • Does anyone know if purchasing the "Icewind Dale Campaign Completion" from the Zen store on a fresh 60 will unlock access to IWD? I see this as the only current workaround to get your vault of the nine quests, other than actually spending days/weeks lvling the fresh 60 all the way to 70. Worth it? How long till PWE changes…
  • You must not have been a "fresh 60" I can confirm the discrepancy/mistake between old 60s and fresh 60s: I had a lvl 60 toon (my DC) that had unlocked IWD a year ago, and then sat unplayed. When I logged in to see about the Vault of the Nine quest, all I had to do was go to IWD and talk to Jarlaxle. If you guys remember,…
  • Really, is that how the internet works? Seriously though, many online retailers and service providers sign a contract with their ISPs which do in fact guarantee a typical uptime, anywhere from 95-99%. If leverage can't be found from competition, there are other negotiable things that can be considered. At this point, most…
  • I'll say it again: "has Anyone where you work ever tried "strongly suggesting" to PWE to change ISPs?" Or can we expect this BS to happen again the next time Cogent decides to throttle your bandwith? Like in the next month or two? We've been waiting for Zeb or Strum to update us: Zeb: "We cannot do anything about it until…
  • As much as we could first, then tried more things. Lol - I sense a logic problem here. Speaking of trying things, has Anyone in your dept ever tried "strongly suggesting" to PWE to change ISPs?
  • So, first of the month, lag is almost gone? I can't test until i get home. Was this all due to Cogent throttling?
