Look, people screamed and fussed for a long time about a vote kick option. Way back when this was -first- being discussed, I pointed out the inherent flaws and abuses possible by instituting a vote kick system. Wouldn't you know it, now those abuses and flaws are being exploited. Go figure. You lot DESERVE what's happening…
Why something like this wasn't part of the game from scratch is beyond me, really. Seems to be a fairly basic function in other MMO's, but not here apparently. I'd bet someone in marketing is trying to figure out a way to monetize it.
Wow,so you mean Cryptic designed their content in such a manner that you absolutely need to farm the HAMSTER out of things in order to get anywhere if you don't want to spend money, then they LIMIT how much can actually BE farmed? Ballz of steel. This is yet another botched "solution" the devs have implemented, IMHO.…
Well, that may be true, but when downloading a new game you've just purchased, someone could readily run into a data cap, no? And now that there's nothing to stop them from doing so, ISP's can say, "Ooops. Half of that game is over your data limit for the month. If you want the rest, pay us this much." I'm also curious as…
So now that Neverwinter is up on Steam...(which it was said would never happen. Gotta love that.)..if someone downloads it through Steam, are they also going to get ARC -and- the regular game launcher, or just the game launcher?
Fixed for you, for free. :) In all seriousness, a good portion of what has been suggested actually -is- a grind, but then, that is to be expected in a F2P game. If you don't want to spend money to get it, it's going to cost you a whole lot of time. That's just the nature of the beast.
The really odd thing is that Mr. Salvatore did not intend for Drizzt to become the popular one. In the first book, he tried to establish Wulfgar as the main protagonist, iirc. It was the PEOPLE READING THE BOOKS that fawned after the dark elf. Salvatore is just cashing in on the public's tastes.
Not only that, but they railroad you into being on the good side. I've said it before, I'll say it again....in an MMO, having choices is never a bad thing. Taking away choices is a bad thing.
Currently, in ALL Cryptic games(and only Cryptic games) when you use /ignore on someone, not only does it remove all their chat from your windows, but it also places a flag/marker on the person. If that person accumulates enough of these flags/marks, they will hit the chatban zone and lose chatting privileges. ALL of them.…
Which is quite sad really, because to me it means people really WILL eat up any old offal that's tossed at them and sometimes even pay you to throw it. Think of that what you will, but what it REALLY means is we, the players ultimately have the final say in the matter by voting with wallets. I cast my vote a while back.
Fix PvP? Trash it altogether and start from scratch, following some OTHER game company's guidelines for PvP. Cryptic's games aren't really known for their PvP. Go check for yourselves. It's not something to be ashamed of, really. I think PvP should stay in FPS and RTS style games, personally, but that's beside the point.…
And the method this company used to "fix" this was to throttle xp gain instead of fixing it so something like that just couldn't be done. Instead of maintaining a proper risk-vs-reward ratio, they just....cut the nose off to spite the face. ( So to speak.) This is the main thing that made me stop playing this game, and it…
Except for one little thing: The development team that puts new shiny items out is working in overdrive compared to the bug fixing team. This needs to be rectified, toot sweet. Your argument: Bollocks. Former statement: Still valid.
This seems to be YET ANOTHER "issue" that keeps cropping up. I recall threads about this from "open beta". I would think a seasoned studio like Cryptic with two(I'm only counting the games produced after the split from NCSoft) MMO titles under it's belt, most ESPECIALLY one that has such a distinguished IP as the Star Trek…
....and yet ANOTHER "issue" that would be moot if this game had been correctly designed with shared loot drops instead of an archaic, divisive system of need/greed. If a chest/end quest reward/and even regular quest rewards spawned for all group members instead of the one loot to be fought over system, this would not even…
....so people are forgetting that every MMO so far has "spam" of LFG and trade in zonewide chat? It's kinda like....one of those unwritten rule things, right next to "zone chat is toxic". What I don't get is why people worry more about what someone else is doing, rather than what THEY are doing. It's almost as if they've…
And all this could have been avoided by making loot drops for everyone, say...like they did in Guild Wars 2. But nooooooooooooooo. So glad I played solo. Also so glad I never got to see this implemented.
Much like a neutered dog, you just don't get it, do you? I'm trying to say that if everyone doesn't like it....DO NOT BUY IT. Voicing your opinion on these forums hasn't done overmuch. Yes, some things are paid attention to and even perhaps implemented...but always at Craptic's best interests table. The ONLY WAY you will…
Complain about pricing all you want, it'll likely never change. Well...unless the playerbase as a collective entity stops spending on the items/services in question. That is the only real power you players have. Vote with your wallets. Don't like the cost? Don't buy. Get a lot of people to not buy. Sadly, that will likely…
Even easier. Open chat options...remove zone chat entirely. Open game options....remove name tags. Now you never see or hear them again, and they still don't know it.
You really believe that? C'mon, they've had two other games to iron this out. Couple that with the fact that this has been an issue since open "release" beta and you (the entire playerbase, really) should be worried.
